...o.o I have no clue, sadly... Well, thing is, he was an optional character in the game so it may make sense... Cept... Some parts.....

Yes, you should be able to understand everything in it quite well, if Vincent is to be understood at all...which is debatable. See, he only had a small part in FF7, and not a lot was revealed about him. I've not played DoC yet, but from what I've heard, there are only a few tiny things that were talked about in FF7 and aren't repeated in DoC. You should do fine.

Well, if I remember correctly...
Advent Children comes 3 years after the game, and DoC comes either one month or 3 monthes after AC. So, if you watched the movie, you should be able to understand DoC more or less...

Still, regardless, you should still play FF7 the original. It's a great game, albeit dated at almost 10 years of age, but possibly the best game I've played in the past few years with the exception of, nothing...
Go and get it, bud, if you can. I've spent a damned long time looking for it, fount it once, but the game store closed before I could buy it and replaced with an antiquity store.... Irony...

Advent Children takes place two years after the original game and Dirge of Cerberus takes place a year after that, or three years after the original game.

Well, FFVII doesn't say much about his WHOLE life like what he did as a Turk but You should still play FFVII.

Man, my head's been in the wrong place of the wrong time... Aight, thanks for the correction Shu-San.

I think So since evn though it has the FF7 Background it is a different storyline, Dirge of Cerberus is Vincent's story.

True its a completely different story, but it still ties in heavily with events that were originally uncovered in FFVII.
