Awhile back, I notice that I had been bitten on my breast by a bug. There was a big itchy bite (kinda like a mosquito bite) on it, and it got all swollen on the inside area of the breast. For a long while, it hurt and was swollen, so I started thinking that it must be a spider bite or something. So, I waited, iced it, and kept waiting, and eventually the swelling, pain, and the itching went down.

However, now, I feel this kind of lumpy thing in my breast (but it doesn't hurt or itch), and I'm starting to wonder if it's something caused by the bite (you know, because when a spider bites you, a lot of the time, the venom hardens the tissue under the bite), or if it's something more serious. I've never been bitten by a spider on my breast before, but I've been bitten on the leg and arm, and it usually swells up and gets hard underneath but eventually goes away.

I'm getting married in a week, and when I do, my parent's health insurance will no longer work on me. The closest Kaiser (which I would go to) is about an hour away and it costs a lot of money per visit, so I dont' want to go down there just to be told (after waiting a bunch of hours) that there's nothing wrong with me.

Does anyone have any advice for me?

If you're getting married in a week, can't you go BEFORE then for the check-up? Bumps on your breast is nothing to play around with.

It could be a cyst. It could be cancer. It could be a pimple.

But whatever it is, it's important to rule out the big ones like Cancer.

Agreed. Better safe than sorry.

The thing my husband always says about spider bites is that they don't brush their teeth, so it there's also that possibility of infection and whatnot.

The lumpy area is going down in size, and most of the swelling is gone now.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug bite....but I wasn't sure what the symptoms of breast cancer are.

My gyn said that breast cancer lumps feel like frozen peas and that they are hard enough to tell what it is. Not sure if that is true or not.

However, it sounds like you just have an infection of sort from the bug bite. I'd still go to the doctor though. Better safe than sorry and maybe if it is just from the bug bite, they can give you something to make it go away faster.

I once had a spider bite on my left breast. It shrunk, but left a scar.

If it is a bite, as you think, you'll want to keep it clean and make sure it doesn't get infected. Even after it disappears, use something like Neosporin for a couple of days so you don't end up like me.

If worse comes to worse and it doesn't disappear before the wedding, you could cover it with makeup.
