Firstly, and I really don't mean to be rude or grammar-obsessed, but if possible, please try to work on your grammar and spelling a little if English is your first language- it makes it a lot easier to read and understand, and helps those who don't speak English as a first language. Again, sorry if this offends you or anything- I don't mean to be rde, but please work on it if you can. sweatdrop

Anyway, onto my opinion- I really don't like Mel Gibson. He's always been anti-semitic, his father still insists the Holocaust never happened and people made everything up. Gibson is also the creator of that Passion of Christ movie, which portrayed the Jews as evil people who killed Jesus.

So, I guess the recent news you're wondering about is that he was pulled over for going 85 mph on a 50 mph zone, and was heavily intoxicated. While drunk, he said all these horrible things about the Jews and got the officer to change the arrest warrant to better suit his public image. In the end, he didn't even apologize- his publicist wrote up one and said it was from him. So basically, he's an anti-semitic idiot who I really loathe.

Not to be crazy or anything, but I think he should just fall off the face of the earth. If that man was any kind of smart, he would have thought twice before saying/doing something like that. And before he starts accusing Jews of all this stuff, maybe he should stop and realize what the Catholics have done to make this world compelete s**t. But anyhow, I hope his career goes down the drain. neutral

Well, here's parts of his apology:
Mel Gibson
There is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of anti-Semitic remark. I want to apologise specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words that I said to a law enforcement officer the night I was arrested on a DUI charge. "As a result, I must assume personal responsibility for my words and apologize directly to those who have been hurt and offended by those words. "The tenets of what I profess to believe necessitate that I exercise charity and tolerance as a way of life. Every human being is God’s child, and if I wish to honour my God I have to honour his children. But please know from my heart that I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith. "I have begun an ongoing program of recovery and what I am now realising is that I cannot do it alone. I am in the process of understanding where those vicious words came from during that drunken display, and I am asking the Jewish community, whom I have personally offended, to help me on my journey through recovery. "Again, I am reaching out to the Jewish community for its help. I know there will be many in that community who will want nothing to do with me, and that would be understandable. But I pray that that door is not forever closed.

Honestly, I think he's just a screwed-up nut job, but I believe in forgiving a person. I won't forget, but I might forgive. We'll just see how he does, if he does anything to deserve forgiveness.
I bet his career is toast though. (It should be, who would want to work with him?) ABC already cancelled his miniseries on the Holocaust. I kinda would've liked to see his take on it. rolleyes And see how many public protests he would get for making it. 3nodding

The thing that is unforgivable to me is that he wasn't even the one making the apology- he didn't say anything out loud; his publicist simply wrote it for him and said it was by him. That's what really makes me angry. stressed

For a moment there, I thought he wrote it... If it had been him I would have forgiven him... but it wasn't, so stare ... At least it took the booze to get the bad side out of him. At least he chose to hide his feelings. People say some pretty stupid crap when they are drunk. So... I guess it's at least good he didn't say it when he was sober... but then again, the fact that he even feels that way is completely retarded... Maybe it was the effect of the booze that ticked him off, maybe it wasn't... But I still think there should be no tollerance for it...

Agreed- alcohol makes people say their inner thoughts; it doesn't make them say things they don't think or feel.

I liked The Patriot too...Heath Ledger is who you mean. And also, I absolutely love Jason Issacs. <3 Malfoy!

I agree with you about Passion. I almost threw up. Wasn't that guy struck by lighting? Like multiple times....? It didn't kill him or anything, people were saying it was a sign from G-d that meant he didn't exactly approve of a movie being made about all of that jazz. *Shrugs* Who knows.
