Mr. Joshie Square is making yet another ff7 spinoff. There was a small preview in the new issue of Gameinformer. For those of you who havn't seen it, it takes place before ff7, but you don't play as cloud. I cant remember exactly, but I think you play as a new guy in the shinras SOLDIER division. Sephiroth will play a big role in this one. The combat will possibly be action rpg instead of the typicle rpg soadshuyin Ya, Crisis Core, for the PSP. You play as Zack, so its before the game obviously, and it goes through a lot of his life pre-doomed in Nibelham. Should explain how he met Cloud, his relationship with Aeris, and more of a connection to Sephiroth. Promises to be good.

Meh. They'd better be careful. If they keep poking at it, they're gonna ruin it. People are already talking about how over-blown it is. I think a second VII is too much. I mean, look at X vs. X-2.

The fact that Aquare did the whole FF7 Avent kiddies crap was enough to ruin the whole thing for me. I almost deleted the game off my PC. If they touch the game any further, it will justtake away the mystery of the world and its stories.

I hope Square doesn't go completely overboard with spinoffs and whatnot about FFVII... they're already going rather nuts having a movie and Dirge of Cerberus.
Anything to make a buck, I suppose...

I want to play Dirge of Cerberus. All Vincent and all gunslinging; sounds worthwhile to me. wink
It's true though that if they mess with it, it'll just suck. I mean, so much WoW attention is making me hate Warcraft III. And anyway, the FF series started to spiral downwards with FF8. FF9 made a bit of a comeback since they were going for the old feel again, but it crashed and burned with FFX, and further committed suicide with X-2. Now that everone who was awesome working with the FF games is gone, I doubt they'll ever be as good as they once were. confused
Although, Crystal Chronicles rocked so hard. It almost seems like every game they make for Nintendo is destined to be great. That's what Square gets for going to the Sony-side of the gaming force. rolleyes

I've heard about this and I think the preview was just for a graphic show thing. I doubt this will happen.

The reason why Square Enix are doing so many spinoff because they know people are going to buy it.

here is just one phrase to express this topic. and the matter of quality of the next FF.
No Nabuo Uematsu = Not a FF a.k.a. FFx-2 (this has nothing to do with my name >_>. actrully i wanted ff7)

Pertaining to Final Fantasy VII, I just want Square Enix to remake it with the graphics they previewed for the PS3. I've heard some people say that they might do it, but I can't be sure and I'm hella gullible when it comes to Square Enix.
I was a late bloomer in videogames and I really got started on Kingdom Hearts (the first one). Last year I borrowed FFVII from a friend and tried to play it, but after KH and Final Fantasy X, not to mention my anticipation for KH2, the graphics threw me off every time I played. xp It wouldn't do to laugh during a serious cutscene because everyone looks like little dolls of sorts. Sorry, to those who like the game. I do too, good story-line, nice characters--it graphics were top-notch when it first came out, but Kingdom Hearts raised my basic standards; they've spoiled me. xd

I just hope they won't go overboard with FF7. I'd buy DoC but I'm not really sure about the whole other sequels and prequels and spin-offs. Square knows people will buy them though.
