Like it says, this is a formal masquerade ball, where everyone wears masks to hide their identity. Sounds romantic, no? The couples will be matched up byme. I'm not telling how so you'll have to figure it out on your own. You could be matched up with a good friend, a crush, an enemy, or someone you've never met before. The revealing will be on the last day of the Ball at Midnight Central time. The Ball will last a few days, as it was Kurai's idea, so everyone can get a chance to go to the Ball. And as an idea for the crew members if they like it, we may have fireworks. But before the fireworks, we will write our best wishes on a tablet and send them off into the sky tied onto balloons. We could have either depending on if our crew memebers like the idea. We could have the fire works only or we could have the balloon send-off only. Or we could not have them at all. As I said, it depends on what the crew members like. The mall will also be having a Special sale only available to Ria High members on all formal items. Such as dresses, tuxedoes, masks, make up, roses/flowers, etc. If you have any quetions/comments you may post them here or pm me, but I'd rather you post it here. Thank you.

I like it, but I don't like the whole partnering thing. I think you should go to the dance to dance with random people, kyuu. If it's a masquerade, you can't really recognize any one so how would you know who your date was/is, kyuu? 'I'll be the tall blond waiting with a green tuxedo.' or 'I'll be the girl with a black dress with a rose corsage and a big lotus in my hair'. I dunno, I just don't like the partnering system, kyuu. Besides, there are several unactive members, so people would have to sign up first, kyuu.
And about the revealing, kyuu... It doesn't matter if it's locked or unlocked, people may still view it, kyuu... So yeah... I dunno, kyuu... I just, for the last time this post, dun't like the partnering system, kyuu.
Otherwise, Makie would love this event to be held in the near/far/whatever future, kyuu! ^w^

I likies the partnering system, but you got me there with the whole finding your date. I know! We will have name cards that have the numbers we drew from a hat earlier that day and all you have to do is find the opposite gender with the matching number. And how could it be a masquerade ball if you know who you're going with? It kinda ruins the whole idea. confused

No, I didn't say you ask another person before to go with you, kyuu. I mean you going to the dance and asking a random person to dance, kyuu. I dun't know how you got that idea that I think you'd know who the other person your dancing with is, kyuu. I think it's stupid for you to know who your going with, kyuu.
I just dun't like the partnering system, kyuu. The rolling can't be secret either, kyuu, unless we made the whole subforum only viewable to crew members, but that's pointless, kyuu.

Only i can give the final word on the get-go for an Event.
As for what Makie said about throwing in her two cent. She is right. There may be others who are wanting to go with their own character.
but pffft..
There is sooo much more times for people to go with their own partners. I think having a randomn partenering up is easy.
maybe not a 100 dice. but a number of how many boys and gurls are participating. You'll see what i mean.
Lets hear some of the other voices of Ria high before we say anything about this.

I think the partnering system proposed is a pretty fun idea, myself. It forces people out of their comfort zones a little to get them to roleplay with people they normally wouldn't, and pairs up characters that would normally have no business interacting with each other. I think it's a neat way to get more of our Ria peoples to meet and get to know each others' characters. The pairing up system needs a little work, due to the possibility of duplicate results with the current proposed idea, but that's certainly workable.

I only get online once in a while, but I really like this idea. Personally, I think the idea that your character will be randomly partnered is a lot of fun, providing you can work the logistics of the thing out. I don't think a d100 is a good way of assigning people because as the numbers are rolled there will be progressively fewer and fewer rolls which haven't been rolled already and thus there will be lots of re-rolling. Instead, you need to find a way of rolling a die based upon the number of people signed up who have not been taken yet, and this number has to be somehow revised every time a match is successfully made. (I realize this is tricky from a code point of view, but I don't have a better suggestion). The other trick, of course, is to find a way for you and your date to both be online at the same time. This is tricky because you won't know whom your partner is to make the arrangement until the event itself. All of that said, I certainly favor this idea if you can make it workable; it has lots of dramatic and comedic potential and looks like lots of fun.
