nope... she's her friend.
...and I've even heard she's her lover (not completely sure on this...since it was given from a source who heard about it from .hack//zero...one of the novels not yet released in english)

I've heard from a source or two that also stated a couple other true facts that they were lovers (lesbians if you will =_= ) This info cannot be fully confirmed...but other smaller sources have stated a similar opinion in the case of tsukasa and suburu. I guess you just have to wait till .hack//zero #1 is translated (which I can't guarantee will be soo since they got 4 other manga series on there way very soon... )

From .hack//ZERO it is stated they are dating. So yes Tsukasa and Subaru are lesbians.
They rarely see each other afterwards because Tsukasa rarely accesses The World for a time, and also she was moved to an all girls boarding school which Bear Ssponsered her to. So they are lovers in and outside the game who rarely get to see each other until later.

I think if they are lovers in .hack//zero, the English translation will water it down and they wont be, cause ya know rolleyes America just cant stand to see lesbians... or so they decide for us

Yes. Tsukasa and Subara are going out in the real world, and are in love. xP So yeah, they are lesbians. What's the problem there?

I've seen the first 10 episodes of sign, but i knew about Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship. Does Tsukasa get her body back? And since Tsukasa lost all memory of being a girl, she thinks she is a he... So that would make Tsukasa straight, because the character is a male?

Yeah, at the end of the series, they have one of those real life flashes where they don't use any sound, and they kinda say hello in the real world.
((Don't quote me on exact wording. I think it was something along those lines))

Yes, Tsukasa and Subaru are lovers. Originally, neither of them knew Tsukasa was a girl, so it was perfectly fine. Towards the end of the series, however, Tsukasa realizes that he's actually a girl. When Subaru finds out, she replies with "That doesn't matter."
Yes, Tsukasa does log out in the end, for all those who didn't find that highly predictable. And yes, at the end of //SIGN, there is a scene where Tsukasa walks out of the hospital and passes Subaru. Both recognize each other, and Tsukasa says "I'm back," to which Subaru responds, "Welcome back."
