If I could, I'd get all three. But I know I can't, since our family's a little short on money now.

So I know the PS3's off the list, mainly because of the price. I mean 600 dollars at starting price?? Insane.

With that one out of the way, I'm having trouble deciding between the Wii and the Xbox 360.

I'm a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog games. This game I really want, Sonic the Hedgehog [not the old Genesis game, this is a totally new game] is only available for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Since the PS3 is off my list, I'm thinking I should get the Xbox 360.

But would it be a waste of money? I'm not really into most of the Xbox type games, such as Halo and Halo 2. But then again, I've never really played many Xbox games, so I could be wrong.

And the reason I may possibly want the Wii is because of the Nintendo games I love.

Or is this right? Even though most Sonic games are on Nintendo consoles [correct me if I'm wrong], I wonder if the rest of the Nintendo games are getting too childish for me. Like the Mario games, Kirby games, etc. And what about this new controller design? I need something I can grab with two hands; I have a tendency of dropping remote controls. sweatdrop

So what do you think? Should I choose the Xbox 360, or should I choose the Wii? Thanks to all who answer.

WII! Most Sonic games are on the Nintendo, assuming they aren't for all three systems anyway.(which they usually seem to be.) If your worried about outgrowing the games then don't. Red Steel is a game about the Japanese underground and Metroid Prime 3 is on it's way as well. You'll have plenty of choice for games geared towards older audiences.

I'll keep that in mind. I'll wait to see what others have to say before I choose first.

Thanks for the info. mrgreen

Well I havent tried the Wii but I have played the Xbox 360. The graphix are really good but at the time I got it there werent that many good games out for it yet. So my vote is for teh Xbox because now their are good games for it. I am not really that excited about the Wii console but I am about the playstation...I might be able to talk to my friends at the gaming store about getting one cheaper...yay knowing people.

but yea $600 is insane...and we are really tight on money too.

I've actually heard that out of all of the three consoles, the Wii has the worst graphics...and I love good graphics, makes me feel like I'm actually in the game.

Well, thanks for the info. biggrin

You say it as if they were like the N64.
Go. Watch. The. Pokemon. Batlle. Revolution. Movie. Now.
Then tell me the graphics are crap >_>
There is a Wii-exclusive Sonic game called Sonic Wildfire.
Not to mention downloading all the old games and selected Sega games.
Wii give you more for your money.
Think of future games: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Animal Crossing Wii, Pokemon Battle Revolution, Meroid Prime 3: Corruption, Mario Galaxy.. The list goes on.
If you want not just good graphics, but fun games for both you and your family AND value for money, go for a Wii.
It doesn't matter if you drop the remote: I've drop my WHOLE Gamecube down our stairs quite a few times, but it stills works like a charm.

I've heard about Sonic Wildfire...doesn't really appeal to me like the Sonic the Hedgehog game has...

Though it wouldn't hurt to try it...although I REALLY don't want to miss out on this new Sonic the Hedgehog game.

But you're saying I could download any old Sega game onto the Wii?

By the sounds of it - yes.
Sega has allowed Nintendo to have some of the Sega games from their consoles up for download.
They are only selected really popular ones... so I'm guessing the Sonic games are definites n_n
I wonder if Echo the Dolphin will be there... x3
That game was sooo cool, even if it contributed to my major fear of deep water >_>;;

Xbox and Nintendo fanboys have seem to come to an agreement to 'band together' this generation against all the Sony fanboys.. Quite interesting, really n_n;;

I heard that the 360's are buggy at the mo, plus it's hard to beat being able to play every Ninty game ever. whee I'd like to get all three consoles eventually once we've got somewhere to live & prices come down etc.

This is how I choose what new systems to go with. My absolute favorite game series of all time is the Zelda series, therefore, whichever system Zelda goes to, that's the system I buy. 3nodding

If I could I would get a PS3 because of the new Final Fantasy on it but $600 is crazy money. I really like the Wii. At first I really didn't want one but it looks really cool now. Though, Wii is such a retarded name. I'm going to call it a Revolution when I get it. xd I'm really pressed for money too so I doubt I'll get a Wii when its first released. I'd even settle for a Gamecube at this moment. 3nodding

I love my Gamecube, and I don't know why people seem to put it down so much. confused I own a PS2 and a Gamecube, and if there's a game I want that is out on both of them, I always choose to get it on Gamecube. 3nodding
