Is anyone else like me? I fear getting old!
I want to open and run a cafe where the waiters wear EGLA and the waitresses wear Ama Lolita but I'm scared I might not be able to pull off Ama, or even Gosurori at all, forever. sad
I know it's silly to worry, I'm 15, I'm still young! But days turn into months and months into years and, just wow emo

What does age have to do with clothing?
I knew an about 40year old man who used to dress sweet lolita.
Age means nothing.
It just comes with the life cycle of which I've come to terms with. Age to me is absolutely nothing. It's life and death that I grip with a passion.

YES! I don't want to grow up. Lolita makes me feel younger. I am newly 16 and I am so afraid that I'll grow up and loose my imagination and hope. I plan to die young. I want to die on my wedding day, wouldn't that be romantically tragic? ^^ I sound so silly. No matter how old you get just keep believing in magic and fairies! heart

Yep!
Also NEVER smoke, smoking makes you age faster. 3nodding (like 20 year olds look like 30+)

Age is a bad attitude, especially on women. razz

I'm 19, and kinda used to the idea that one day I'll be an old fart. I think being concerned with age is a horrible waste of time, and, nothing to do with how you wish to dress/live your life in general. I'm actually glad about aging - as I've been approaching my late teens, I have grown out of considering what others think about me. I have courage to do and dress what I want, think of the world how I please.

Age shouldn't affact how you dress either - your own likes, taste and prejudices should. I am guilty of thinking some lolita styles look too childish when you're over 10, and I propably transform my lolita skirts into more toned down 50's style when I grow old. But that's just how aging should go in my mind, and that's what I'm comfortable with.

But heck, you lose a life worrying about getting old - the experience can be even joyful if you live the day and stop worrying about distant tomorrow.

I know sometimes I fear getting old, but I also know that it won't matter to me if I have someone there by my side, growing old with me. But I eat healthy, stay out of the sun (and when I know I'll be in the sun for a long time, I wear SPF70), and drink plenty of fruit juice (water when I'm not at home). I don't exorcise though. It's pro'lly my biggest downfall. o, I'll pro'lly still look youthful when I'm old, I just won't have the mobility. XD
I know I'll never always be a lolita, that one day I'll have to give my skirts away to someone cuter and younger (who will wear them righteously!) and then move on to EGA (but I don't expect this to happen until I'm like 35 or so). And one day even that I may have to tone down to just regular Victorian and Edwardian style dresses (but not until I'm 70). Then again...I guess that'd actually be more elaborate than EGA. XD

When I have a more mature looking face I'd probably want to go Aristocrat anyways. I tried today, but my face is just too round and squishy xd

Hm-mh, I will propably start wearing more 19th century clothing when I get older, too - not that I don't do so now. Ega is just too gothic for me, too dark and gloomy and emo-looking~ rolleyes

Funny fact; we're all too old to wear loli, according to Wikipedia. Only girls below 6 years are allowed to wear knee-high dresses by Victorian standards. xd

It is more elaborate - EGA aims towards androgynous, I hear, but Edwardian and Victorian fashion aims towards exaggarated femininity.

They're two completely different worlds if we leave out the hem lenght. razz

That's exactly how I feel! But I never thought about dying on my wedding day before.. That would be romantically tragic, and beautiful in a twisted kind of way (but I don't think I'd want to actually do it).
I'm scared of getting old because I don't want to be ugly and old-looking. I don't mind too much about lolita, because I can just wear EGA or Victorian fashions for older women. I hope that euthanasia becomes legal before I'm senile, though (or I'll just have to go to Switzerland). That's what frightens me most; that I won't be able to do stuff properly any more, even think.
It's strange, I was never really scared of aging until I became lolita.

For me, mature women look awesome in Aristocrat 3nodding
And I think Lolita is too childish even for some 17-year-old girls, so obviously I think it's strange in mature women... but I like the Victorian aesthetics as a whole, both childs' and adults' clothing.

I am not too afraid of growing old... I am more afraid of being 30~50 than being 60-up. Because that's the age we have more responsibility and have to work harder sweatdrop I hope I have a good retirement pension (and good health, too!) when I grow old, because I'll want to retrieve the time I spent working and have a lot of fun! whee

If you care about your health, you won't become senil!
Once I saw a woman in the subway - she was at least 70. The most impressive about her is that she had totally toned muscles! We could tell her age because of her wrinkled skin, but she was healthy and flexible. I'll try my best to wipe off the sedentarism of my life and become a little like her when I become old. 3nodding

And in the end, what matters is health. Even plastic surgery won't solve the wrinkles problem - with plastics, you face becomes too artificial and you'll end up looking like a mummy, with that thin skin over the face's bones. xd

My opinion is: wear Lolita until you can, and don't fret when you can't anymore. There always something that will look good on you. 3nodding

It seems many of us have similar plans. As we get older, our style will only mature with us, not change dramatically or anything. I really hope to spread my love of Lolita and the Victorian age to my children and grandchildren.

Actually...thinking about it this way...getting old doesn't seem bad at all!

At least to me it doesn't.

I don't want to get old, not at all. I'm sixteen now. 25 seems a good age to stop getting older at... Though, I do hope that as I get older I'll still continue to wear lolita, and pass the style on to my kids ^^

I'm more worried of the responsibility of aging rather than the facial and physical changes. confused
If i'm lucky, I'll get my mom's genes. She's 52 and does not have a wrinkle on her face. ^__^
