they can get a little biger if you give them room to grow, the ones at the zoo are over a foot, but most stay around that and will eat anything smaller than them. Also, I read that Oscars put in a fully decorated tank will completely destroy it breaking your heaters eating plants moving rocks and can even shatter the tank. Do some research if you want to get this fish.
PS: moving this to advice because I think thats where it belongs sweatdrop hope you dont mind

just read something interesting about oscars in an artical for beggining aquarists, sometimes if you keep an oscar in too small of a tank (like 20 gallons or something) instead of just getting really huge they're growth is stunted and they become deformed

They get about a foot long, maximum. They need AT LEAST a 55-gallon to be happy, and they produce a lot of waste, so be sure to get a very poweful filter system and do very regular water changes. One cool thing about them is that they can be trained to eat out of your hand!

And I've also read that you have to clean the tank every time they eat because of how messy they are x.x

I read that they like to beg for food, but should only be fed at maximum twice a day.

Gerald the Mouse I read that they like to beg for food, but should only be fed at maximum twice a day. it depends, when they're young you can feed them smaller ammounts of food 3 times a day. But, a full grown oscar will eat 3 large meals a week.
