That is one of the most common songs ever performed in my school district...I have a version that was performed by the High School and recorded, and I just listened to it, and it sounds cool. Sure, the solo singer was too 'aaaAAaaaAAAAAaaahHHhh' some times. (if you get what I mean)
I think it's cool that almost every year, at least one school in the district sings that song.
If you wanna hear the version I have, I could probably upload it then post it on here. But thats only if.

Oooh I want to hear!
In my old school, I heard the graduating class was going to sing it as their graduation song. And I wanted to hear them so bad, but I never made it there because I had a tennis game the same day. Haha. Oh well. whee

;-; I don't know of any schools who have performed it here where I live. I know my school hasn't. At least not last year anyway. I was in choir. If we had sung it, I would have known because I would have been singing it. xD I wish we had sung a song from RENT though. Heck, I wish we actually sang. Yes, that's right. I was in choir and we carely sang. In the begining of the year we were singing but then that teacher left. We got a new teacher and sang every now and then. He left and we got another new teacher. We didn't sing at all. If I am in choir next year (I'm either going to be put in choir or drama since my school is supposed to have drama), I hope we do sing something from RENT. I would be so happy if we did.

I think everyone at some point sings it with their school. Our choir just did it for last year's graduation. I didn't get to hear it though. crying
My mom was talking to her friend on the phone and telling her about RENT.... becuase she claimed she had never heard of RENT before. So eventually her friend started talking about Law and Order (or whatever the show is that Jesse L. Marten is in... I don't remember...) and my mom goes "HA! Someone from RENT is in that show!"
Later on the subject changed to her talking about how her daughter was going around singing all these songs that she had to learn for choir, and there was one particular song that she heard so much she was totally sick of it. My mom asked what it was, and so she tried to sing parts of it.
My mom laughed and said "Oh my God, you're going to kill me for saying this.... but that song is "Seasons of Love" and it's from RENT."
It was kinda funny, 'cause like, everything that came up had to do with RENT. xd

I think it'd be a great one for my school choir to learn, but the only problem is that there's a major absence of guys in the choir. However, one of my friends (a fellow Renthead) is really good at Collins' part in the song.
I'm definitely not choir material, but I always find myself singing the guys' part as well, since I have a pretty low voice range sweatdrop

The choir at my school did it last year. It was only 8 people but it was really awesome. Except the female soloist. She sucked. She couldn't hit the high note, so the director cut it out. I could have hit it... stare
