26. The Phantom’s name is Gaston False.
27. The Phantom’s weapon of choice is a sword False.
28. Christine chose to marry the Phantom Out of duress, technically, in the book. Erik does not bind her to that agreement.
29. The Phantom sings notes O.G ...This question does not make much sense. Oh, he SIGNS his notes? True, I suppose, but in the original novel he does not sign them O.G. That's the common translation, for whatever reason. He actually signs them the Phantom of the Opera, imagine that.
30. O.G stands for Original Gangster False.
31. The Phantom is know as the Trap door lover In Persia, yes.
32. The Phantom sits in box 6 No.
33. The Phantom is insane In a manner of speaking, yes.
34. The story takes place in year 1887 Webber places it in 1881, Leroux never gives a specific date, and Schumacher, who failed world history, apparently, thinks he's a genius and places it in 1870. He deserves a good smack. c.c
35.A mob kills the Phantom in the new movie False, but they do in the 1925 one.
(who said it) 36. “What a way to run a business! Spare me these unending trials! Half your cast disappears, but the crowd still cheers!” Firmin
37.” The world showed no compassion to me!” Erik
38. “He's here! That Phantom of the Opera” Meg, Christine, and assorted ballet girls at any time of the musical.
39. “But clearly, Madame Giry, genius has turned to madness.” Raoul and one of his worst delivered lines in the whole movie.
40. “Why you spray on my chin all the time, huh?” Carlotta--what is with all these movie-verse lines?
(Name that song)
41.” I gave you my music . . . made your song take wing . . . and now, how you've repaid me: denied me and betrayed me” All I Ask Of You Reprise.
42. “Faces . . . Take your turn, take a ride on the merry-go-round . . . in an inhuman race . . .” Masquerade.
43. “No more memories, no more silent tears . . . No more gazing across the wasted years . . . Help me say goodbye” Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
44.” Too long he's preyed on us - but now we know: the Phantom of the Opera is there deep down below .” Down Once More
45. “Insolent boy! This slave of fashion basking in your glory! Ignorant fool! This brave young suitor, sharing in my triumph!” Angel Of Music
46.” Stranger than you dreamt it - can you even dare to look or bear to think of me” Stranger Than You Deamt It (good job for giving the song away in the lyrics)
(Random questions for the end)
47. Who played the Phantom in the new movie? Gerard Butler, may he never sing again.
48. What does the Phantom’s mask look like in the book? A full-faced black mask, when he chooses to wear it. Erik does not seem to have a problem going naked-faced or wearing his false nose.
49. The movie? A mishapen offwhite mask scrunched off to one side of his face. It's unfortunately hideous.
50. What in the Torture Chamber? An iron tree and a noose.
The joys of not needed references. Ask some difficult questions next time. wink
This is why you are writing the trivia quiz and not me.

I'm sure you passed with flying colors, Fuoko. Remind me, exactly how many years have you been a phan? Of course, you know more than a lot of us do on the subject of PotO. I couldn't do this without reference materials, but those were for the more slip-people's-minds-able questions. Still, I think I did pretty well for half a year, non?
(PS: A musical, perfect-pitch question: What key is the overture to ALW's play in? *walks away singing*)

("He will be pleased o:") I'm going on eight years now, but that is really paltry in comparison to a few other phans I know. As for perfect-pitch, I have it to an extent but not particularly so I may have to hazard a guess because I actually have never looked at the score: I'll say C sharp major, although I would imagine it modulates a few times throughout the course of the piece, too. (I dunno, Elanchana, what is it?)

(I dunno, Elanchana, what is it?) Thanks! Wow, eight years. O_O That's still a long time. I knew from the start you weren't one of those phans who got pulled in late by the movie. Good for you. As for the key of the overture, it's Bb (A#) minor modulating into B minor. In the play, that is. In the movie... let me see... *inserts DVD* It also starts in Bb (A#) minor and modulates into B minor, and from there it goes into Db (C#) minor, then ends in Eb (D#) minor. Feel free to flame me when I say I like the movie overture better, because it goes into the coda and uses countermelody-type things not only on the organ...*goes into abstract music talk blah blah blah* Anyway, something to add to your great pile of Phantom phacts.

I never claimed to be a music major; simply a(n un)humble phan~ wink Still, good to know! I need to work on more ear-training so I can get back up to par on that~ ...Although, I'm intensely confused as to what you've put in the parenthesis...
The only thing I don't like about the movie overture is the organ they use. I prefer the crisper, shriller church organ of the OLC; the movie one simply sounds so bland and unappealing to me. If they could have used that, then I would have been happier.

The parens were because I usually like to think in flats (band did this to me) but if you are better with sharps I put those in. And the organ thing...yeah, the play one does sound better. What would be great is if they could tack on the coda part from the movie to the end of the play overture.

Oh, right, right, I'm looking at them thinking those can't possibly be relative keys; what's all this business about? Makes sense, now.
I like the extra coda in the film, but I would not want it in the musical. There isn't any room or need for it. The coda in the film is meant to give time to pan through the backstage and develop the ambiance of the opera before the events actually start and the musical simply needs it to raise the chandelier and drop some dust cloths. I think they accomplish what they were set out to do, nothing more and nothing less, personally.

If only they had more things they had to get done, then they could put it in... but then that would just look... tacky. We'd better stop now because we're getting off-topic. -_-
