Okay, so i'm about to buy my very first BJD. I'm buying a dollfie plus. I got eyes already (my sister bought them for me) and i'd like to give her eyelashes. My question:

Will she be more or less pre-assembled, so i only have to put the eyes, eyelashes and hair on? Or will i need to put her together? How do i put eyes in? I saw eyeputty, but its $11, and i don't have a spare $11. What kind of glue works? cause i wouldn't mind this being permenant.

Basically, i need tips on what to do once i get my dollfie... getting the hair on, eyes/eyelashes, and anything else you can think of. heart

WOOOHOOOO!

I'll answer all of your dollfie plus questions! =^w^=

The body comes all assembled, with a standred head with no eyeholes.
If you bought an option head, that's good to. The eyes are small, so it may be a little diffy getting them in. Use eye putty if you have it. DON'T USE GLUE. The eyes may slide while drying and then the doll would be ruined! Silly putty may work as an alternative.

As for eyelashes... you prolly got SD ones. I don't think they have eyelashes small enought to fit on a dollfie plus for sale.
Hair, if it has an elastic built in, should just slip onto the head. I'm not really sure how to secure it yet. I tend to knock Toby's off a lot.

Are your eyes 6-8mm? If not, they most likely won't fit.

I'm working on a face-up on Toby, and it's really hard because their heads are so small. You may want to experiment with non-permanent stuff on your doll first, like watercolor pencil. If you like how it comes out, finalize it. If not, try something else.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Edward! I'm so excited. whee

I got 8mm, the volks usa site said they worked. Hmmm..... i don't have the cash to get eye putty... i've heard kneaded erasers work, but i'm a little iffy on using them... My sister said she saw the volks site said that the eyelashes fit, if not, i may trim them, i may leave them off, i dunno yet. Are you sure the head comes without eyeholes? The website said it came with eyeholes... cause it comes with a plus head. Kami said that the excellent base and the beauty ones come without eyeholes, but we thought the plus came with eyeholes. The plus shows eyeholes.....

i'd say that the white kneeded erasers are your best bet. blu tack and doll eye putty has been known to dry out and become rock solid xp and blu tack and sculpey have been known to cause oil spots. if the eyes are acrylic, sculpey might eat at them. i've come to the conclusion that the erasers are the best solution.

and as for the eyelashes, any kind will work, even human. just trim and glue in with elmer's type glue.
good luck wink

Thank you soooooooooooo much! I was getting worried. You say white kneeded erasers? Is there something in particular wrong with the other colors (such as staining or something) or is it just that the white, if you see a little bit of it, it blends in better?

And for the eyelashes.... just normal elmer's school glue type glue?

Okay! The excelent bace does not come with eyeholes and only a few of the beauty models come with eyeholes.
Only the standard Dollfie Plus models (4 of them, all female) come with eyeholes.
Personally, I think the option heads are better. They look less anime-ish and more like the SDs.

Really? So you can cut the 'lashes (like in half) and trim them (the lashes) and they'll work for the dollfie plus?
