Has anyone noticed a key identifying factor of a diclonius that has lost themselv, or is mad? (Lucy, Mariko, Crazed Nana) They are EXTREMELY prideful and cocky. they react as they want to and pay no heed to anyone around them. They rarely pay attention to glaringly obvious traps because they figure they're invincible.
Now, Diclonii don't act this way just to human opponents but to other Diclonii opponents as well. Mariko to Lucy or Nana. This trait is obvious also when Lucy fights Nana and takes off her limbs.
Now thats not all, it also seems their pride and ego is not effected by their power, range, or number of vectors. Lucy has 4 which reach 2 meters, yet she was never less cocky then Mariko, sporting 26 vectors reaching i think it was 11 meters?
It also seems there are NO male dicloniuses, though there are watered down males like Kazukawa and his son. Does this mean that all diclonii are female? In the series so far it seems very much so.
This presents a GIANT conundrum in the idea of the diclonii taking over. If they kill off all humans then there will be no progenitors of the species. Diclonii females need to infect males whom then must impregnate a female (if that female COULD be a diclonius already is unclear). So obviously at least one male would have to be alive to keep the diclonius society alive.
There's still more. If Lucy truly is the first diclonius then how come she has NEVER showed an interest in procreating the diclonius society. All she is concerned with is surviving by any means, and needs almost no one, especially not a "fellow" diclonius. So is it plausible that this entire thing goes back before Lucy? Perhaps it does, perhaps she is not the "queen" Kazukawa believes she is. If so then how did this all come to be and what are diclonii really.
Menace, mutation, or evolution are all things that could be speculated of diclonii. Their rapid evolution time would indicate a human mutation, their violence towards most people would be considered a harmful menace.
So what message is Okamoto Lynn trying to say about the diclonii, about humanity, about the world?
Discuss.

I always had a funny feeling Lucy was never truly the "Queen" Diclonius. I have no proof, but it's just a feeling. It's hard to say how they came to be, perhaps it's a "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" question. There may have been an initial mutation somewhere down the line, and maybe Lucy was the first ever true, genetically correct Diclonius. But I'm no scientist, so I can't really say.

alright...i shall exlain that kakuzawa and son were not infected...they are watered down diclonii who have lost their vectors due to their ancient family inbreeding with humans to survive...now all they have is their horns to prove their heritage...try wikipedia.com out for more key points like this

How did they prove that? They must have said that later in the manga, because it NEVER came up in the anime, and it hasn't come up in the manga yet, since I'm upto ch 50. Also, why do they have no hair, while other diclonius have both hair and horns?
I think someone may have been making up facts as they please. No offense.
I'm going to reread those chaptersthey claim Kazukawa BSs about being a true diclonius, becuase that goes against kazukawa's father considering her the "queen." However this could all just be a meaning error between queen as leader, and queen as progenitor.

1) Mariko has 26 vectors and 11 meter range. It really bugs me when people get that wrong, it's just two numbers. 2) Kakuzawa and his son were descended from a family line dating all the way back to the feudal era, cursed by a demon of some sort I beleive. His ancestors had no hair, horns, and vectors. But as the years went by they were forced to be watered down by mating with humans, though in Kakuzawa's particular branch of his family tree they resorted to inbreeding to preserve the gene. The Kakuzawa house no longer sport vectors, but they have no hair and horns on their heads because they are the genuine dicloni. The human race began to evolve, and suddenly it was seen fit that dozens of new diclonius children- Of a different sort and yet with the same gist of a purpose- Lucy's legitimacy as a diclonius purely came out of nowhere. Male dicloni were just not stressed upon, but their existance has nothing to do with Kakuzawa. 3) The Kakuzawa family are no longer as genuine as they wish to be- For their horns, they have been ridiculed for years on end until the horns became small enough to hide through the generations. He wants the human race to pay for its prejudice against his family, while new dicloni such as Lucy desire to fulfill their god-given duty to make way for a more powerful race, another step in human evolution. Killing other dicloni is not of instinct at all- There are humans who murder their own kind, and so for someone with the morals or lack thereof of Lucy would not hesitate to kill somebody who is in her way, nevermind the evolutionary ranking. 4)Mariko's lack of proper socialization caused her to be a phenominally psychologically underdeveloped child by being locked in a cell with no contact aside from the auditory. By not being around people, she is immature and has easily succombed to her instincts. Plus, she's FIVE YEARS OLD. I doubt you were the most mature person ever at five. She merely doesn't understand she's doing anything wrong until punishment ensues. 5) Again, the new male dicloni were given no spotlight because this series is biased and all of the male characters are total idiots aside form maybe Kurama. It's sexist. Deal with it. It's like Death Note, which has like five female characters as opposed to like fifty males. It's just what happens. 6) It doesn't matter if an infected victim is male or female, their children will still be dicloni. If you don't mind me sounding like a commercial, think outside the box. If the series doesn't shed huge amounts of light on a situation isn't proof that it ABSOLUTELY did not happen. It just turns out that most of the scientists working with dicloni were men, with the exceptions of Shirakawa, Saitou, and Yu's partner to an extent. Kisaragi was an intern, and nobody really cares about interns xD 7) Yes, this entire thing goes back to before Lucy. Read my paragraph on the Kakuzawa lineage. Lucy has had more experience with actual people than Nana or Mariko, and in result is humane enough not to kill absolutely constantly. If you want to take over the world, surviving is kind of necessary. She merely isn't as interested in world domination and overthrowing the current species in power as Kakuzawa is, because her (Annoying) devotion to Kouta has caused her to be more humane and restrict her instincts better. Plus, she is Nyuu half the time anyways.
