It's time for another contest! The last one was kind of a flop... This time, it's fanfiction! 3nodding If you're going to participate, please read this thread thoroughly and check for updates!
C A T E G O R I E S
[AU] - Alternate Universe. These would include fics in which Sasuke doesn't leave Konoha, etc.
[Crack] - Either crack!plot or crack!pairing. Crack is random and humorous within the plot, but a crack!pairing can have any kind of storyline.
[Songfic] - A fic with a song within the text. Lyrics are usually broken up into stanzas and placed in italics. The lyrics are then placed, in order, where the author deems them appropriate.
[Romance] - A romantic story! This is the category for your basic love story. Fluffy things would go in this category. X3
[Humor] - Stories with humor in them that aren't as random as crack plots are. Make sure your entry is funny before you submit it into this category!
[Canon/General] - Fics that follow the Naruto storyline using all canon characters go in this category.
J U D G I N G
Entries will be judged by a panel of four anonymous judges that the captain has selected. The captain is not judging. DO NOT PM THE MODS OR CAPTAIN ASKING WHO THE JUDGES ARE.
Fics will be juded on:
[x] Originality
[x] Grammar/Spelling
[x] Characterization
[x] Plot
[x] Appropriateness to category
Each judge will read your entry and give it a point total based on the above areas. The fic with the highest point-total is the winner for that genre. There will also be three overall winners.
During the time for submitting entries, the entries will be posted in the contest subforum so everyone can read them. The winners will be stickied.
R U L E S
arrow Your entry's rating may not exceed PG-13. This is in Gaia's Terms of Service, which you agreed to follow when you joined the site.
arrow Your entry must be one chapter with a word count between 100 and 10,000 words.
arrow You may submit more than one entry, but not in the same category.
arrow Do not PM the mods or captain asking who the judges are or asking the judges to 'go easy on' your fic. Harassment of this type will result in an automatic point deduction.

it can touch on sex (as far as i know) but no graphical sex... so in other words as your writing if you see them riding eachother in your mind... thats a nono razz On the upside i gave my fanfic for a friend to read today and she said she was disturbed by the ItaxSasu rape scene.... mind you its not graphical. And on another note i am also writing a *cringe*SasuNaru romance. I really do hate SasuNaru but i couldnt pass it up razz ninja and if ur unsure if ur fanfic is PG-13 or not ask someone in the guild to look over the bit your unsure of, I asked Loose Socks to look over a section of mine and she basically said tone it down alittle or link to it... i toned it down and made a website for it(geocities biggrin )

Sexual innuendos are fine, too. Since the Gaia ToS band cybering, I'm going to say that an actual lime/lemon is too far over.

We get the point; it won't be counted as a grammar/spelling mistake. It's not a word from the dictionary, but we all know what a piercing is. lil-goddess-hotaru And 2) if a story is bordering on crack and humor is there anyone we could ask to tell us what we should classify it as? If it only borders on crack, then submit it into the humor category. If it is a little cracky and random, then it goes in the crack category. If it's still unclear, you can send your story to me, but make sure I know it's not being submitted as an entry yet. After I let you know what I think, you can decide which category to put it in and make any changes you feel should be made. At that point, you can send it to me again. 3nodding

Do the characters interact at all in the canon? Basically, crack pairings and random and based off of little interaction. For example: "KABUTO TOUCHED THAT GUY'S ANKLE IN PANEL 5 OF CHAPTER 188!!! TRUE LOVE!!!111!!! :O" Crack.
