I just got 3rd earring holes over the weekend! Was an exciting experience. I've wanted them done for a good few years. Maybe within the next three years I'll get a cartilage done on my right ear - and after that no more piercings, heh.

As far as tattoo's go, I'm hesitant...if I *were* to get one, it would be something small on either my ankle or shoulderblade. I've always thought a tiny (two inch-tall) black silhouette of a dragon would be a cool thing for my left shoulderblade. I'm not going to be hasty or anything though! Not that I can afford much right now anyway, ha.

I'm 18, and I find it interesting how many kids my age are getting tattoo's...at least in my school. It's kind of frightening, really - tattoo's seem to be as apparent as the lastest "trends" that are bound to have a lifespan of less than a month. I look around and I wonder how many of these people are going to regret their decisions within the next five years.

On another note, the place where I got my 3rd earrring holes done (I got the 1st set done in 5th grade at the doctors, did the 2nd ones myself sophmore year) was at the mall, and ear piercing was one of many services they offered - one of which my friend and I were shocked to see - "tongue splitting". We asked the woman while she was doing my ears how many people had asked to get that done. She said she had only ever had three people come in to get it done - one a male, and two females who were friends and were getting it done together. She said the procedure was a pain in the a** to do - I can imagine.

I read up on it after I got home out of curiosity, and I learned that sometimes, people who get this done learn to move each side of their tongue independently from the other side. However cool that sounded, the entire idea to me still seems completely ridiculous. I can't imagine ever doing that to myself, ha.

What have you guys gotten done? Plan to do anything else? Any horror stories worth telling? biggrin

Where I live is costumary to pierce the babys ears in the hospital when they are born. At least it was when my sister and I were bore. I think the dod it now in the first pedriatriciam check up. Latter I had the second piercing in my ear done with my mom and sister. A lottle latter I pierced the other ear for a second time. So that makes 4 (tow in each ear). I later convince my step father to pierce his ear beacause he looks like a pirate and I wanted to make the picture whole lol.

On the subject of tattos. I have wanted a tattoo since I have use of reason but allways wanted something really special. I was going to have a liitle one done but then decided against it. I reserched tattos and decided to get, a pair of angel wings tattoed on my back. Not tiny little ones but big a** ones. The cover my whole back. It took two setons of 13hours to compleate and there can still be some more work done on it. When I forgett how much it hurt the first time arround maybe I'll do more work on it.

When I first went to get pierced, I was about 2, and it was in a mall. My mom wanted gold posts, and the people said you couldn't use a gun. They didn't explain that they couldnt' use a gun on GOLD POSTS. So they took out the needle, and as it was going in I jumped, ripped through my earlobe, and screamed bloody murder. After that healed, I was still 2 or 3, I got them done with a gun at the doctor's office.
Second holes were mardi gras day of my seventh grade year. Third hole in my left ear was from the day after high school graduation, with my roommate and another friend, in the mall.

I've got a tattoo on my left heel, a triskellion. Yeah, I know, crappy picture. It was taken by a webcam. This tattoo has a good deal of meaning for me, and I wanted it for a LONG time. When I turned 11 I joined a martial arts class, Shin Kiechu Ryu Karate. When a student achieved the rank of brown belt they were allowed to get this tattoo. My parents said I could when I got there...but when I hit that rank at 13, they said no. (understandably). They said when I got my Black I could get it. Well...that happened when I was 14, and again, no. So I waited until I was 18, which was when they said I could get it. I continued training, under that Sensai and others. Finally, I turned 18. We started looking for good studios, found one that my uncle (who is a nurse) declaired clean, and he gave me the money as a graduation present. I've since had it retouched, as it was already beginning to fade. They also fixed some mistakes that were made the first time.

I'd like to get something on my upper back. I'd love to get a tripple moon on the back of my neck (it was suposed to be a graduation present from my ex fiance...but being an ex...we can all guess how that worked out. And I really want a little stud on the side of my nose.

Wow! That looks like it must be amazingly painful to have had done.

I've been contemplating a small butterfly on my ankle for a tattoo for about 6 or so years now sweatdrop I'll probably get it eventually...

I've got just three earrings for piercings 3nodding Two in my left and one in my right, I like the lack of balance, I always prefer one ear to have one more piercing then the other, no idea why xd

It was, and don't ever let anyone ever tell you that getting a tattoo doesn't hurt, if they do they are lieing! But like everything that hurts, you get over it. I often equate it to having bad menstral cramps, you have to deal with them from time to time, but when you're not having them you don't really think about them at all.

Mine hurt, but not bad...for me it was like rubbing alcohol in a wound when it was happening. But then, the heel is FAR different from the chest. And mine was a LOT smaller.
