Please critique but be constructive. I'm tired of getting flamed and stuff (i have been getting it recently)

Thanks! <3 heart

OH yeah - I know the face has the splotches. My shading screwed up and I couldn't fix it so I have to try better on the next one I'm working on XD SO unless you have a tip on how to shade the face better.....(especially so that it's not the same shade as the shirt) please don't critique THAT part of the drawing - Thanks.

Nice job! Children and babies look really strange when we draw them don't they? The contour line and composition are very good. The smudging can be cut back by placing piece of scrap paper or paper towel under your hand while you work. As for the shading- experiement with different mark making techniques.

mark-making techniques (feels weird knowing what that is for once O_O)

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the comments. I never thought of the scrap paper or paper towel thing too keep from smudges.

THanks and yeah they do look really strange when we draw them O_O

Tip of hat to drakkenmuerte- always well thought input! I always have to remind myself to keep young children's features closer together on the face and also make the eyes a bit larger and the nose & mouth a bit smaller- they continue to grow and stretch out as we grow. When I couldn't find or afford blending stumps/tortillions I would use Q-tips as my blending/smudging tool. They work really well on skin because you won't ever blend a sharp edge with that fuzzy tip!

Children's heads are more like circles, but as we grow our heads become enlongated, normally. Add that to what the others have said and you have most of the big points.
