The episode is next week, but we all saw the commercial right after Blind Bandit, right?
Things I noticed:
Zuko looked really thin for those present-time shots. How long has it been since that boy has eaten?! Someone get him a taco, stat!
Zuko obviously bonded more with his mom.
Did his mom die, or did she just leave?
OMG ZUKO AND AZULA CHIBIS YAY! heart heart 4laugh

yeah, zuko's mom seemed very kind. I'm guessing she said something she wasn't and the fire lord reacted bad. either she's dead or was sent into exile.

YAY! Now we get to see his mom! I can't wait.
Oh man, Zuko looks all beat up. But I like his new hairdo.
And...it seems he must've been his mother's favorite. Hmmm...I kinda see some Katara within her. Meh, I'll wait until I see it. But I wonder what happened to her. It's possible that she could've died.
And wow, Azula was even naughty back then. stare Maybe it must've stemmed from her being a prodigy and Ozai's favorite.

frene kinda random: his hair got longer!!!!!!!!! it looks silky (yummers) now! That happens when you let hair grow back after you shave it. sweatdrop My friend Jim shaved off his curls and in a week it looked like that. What I still don't understand... if he could have grown all of it back anyway, why did he have all of it shaved but the ponytail before? Was it perhaps an act of humility? Otherwise, it would have naturally grown back and he would have put all of it in a ponytail.

I SO cannot wait for Friday. I still hate Azula, but she's interesting, and I'm also excited to see Zuko's mom. Just in time for mother's day. heart XD
But I'm getting the feeling she dies.... though leaving is a possibility, too.... Gah is it Friday yet?!

Remember, Zuko's father once searched for the Avatar before he became king, so, Aang's been asleep for awhile by that point. I think she either was banished or sentenced to death, one or the other. That flashback in the commercial seems to be the last time mother and son saw each other.

im so happy about the chapter tomorrow, i really want to see what happens.
i agree with all of u when u say that he needs food. he is really looking skinny!!! too skinny!!
i don't think his mom cheated or try to help the avatar. maybe she just desagree wiuth what her husband was doing and try to stop him and he banish her or, more probable, killl her; since he nearly killed his son!!!
ohhh i think someone said soemthing about hating Azula. i hate her too!! but its got to add her to the series it just makes everything more intersting!!! well i hope everybody enjoys it biggrin

O.o....*clutches chest* FANGASM! That was.... by far, the best episode of Avatar I have EVER seen! It was so perfect!... anyone else get the feeling that Zuko's hairstyle was making him look a little... ya know... preppy?

Hmmm....
I just watched Part I of Zuko Alone on YouTube. Zuko seems to hold on to his own well....but that might be an overstatement. Seems because of him being a prince, he doesn't do quite well with menial work.
So....Azula, Ty Lee, and Mei were childhood friends. It seems that Azula was nasty even then, like how she pushed Ty Lee, made fun of Mei's crush on Zuko, and burned the doll Iroh bought for her. She must've been a trouble maker, and of course, as always, must've thought highly of her dad.
As for Zuko's mom, she's very pretty and very kind. Seeing that Zuko hangs out with her alot, I don't think he was like other boys with their mothers now.
And we get to see how he got that knife from when he cut his hair off. The saying on the dagger must've had a very big influence on him.
