I'm thinking of making actual replicas of the various swords found in FFVII. I'll probably craft them out of wood, but before I do... I kinda need the dimensions of the swords! I think once I know the lengths of the swords, I can figure out the rest by looking at the proportions. But I need some lengths!

So... how long are these swords? Metric or US standard lengths will do. Any other dimensions will be extremely helpful. After I have a few thoughts and some sort of general concensus, I'll post the dimensions here in this post for your reference.

Blade lengths, handle lengths, etc. Any will help a lot. Thanks!

You should ask Mako18 about the Buster Sword from FFVII, I remember he made one for himself for a Cosplay if I remember correctly.

And, I believe I remember reading somewhere that Seph's sword is atleast six foot in length. xp

I know that the Buster Swords blade is 5 feet long and that the Masamune's blade is 6 feet long. I dont know any of the measurements of the First Tsurugi though.

Masamune is exactly 7' 2" long in total. As for the buster sword its blade is 5 feet, about 3/4ths of a foot wide, and the handle is approximately a foot long.

A few more thoughts to draw off of and we'll probably have a bit more of a general number for some of these swords. mrgreen

Buster Sword

I don't think it's quite wide enough, or long enough, though.

Another Buster

That one's better, but has more than just two materia slots.

I can't find anything on the AC version. It's probably too early to get it. Besides, I think the blades didn't exactly go together perfectly. Whenever he added a sword to the main one, there was this funny glow along it, like it was literally merging or something.

I'm quite interested in Kadaj's sword. It doesn't seem like a feasible sword, because the blade typically extends into the handle and is pegged to it by a bamboo pin. Judging from AC, the blades end at the hilt, which means it's not exactly a sturdy build.
