i stickied this thread. im making the same one for the other poll forum.
my opinion for this is that a serious poll is one where you need an opinion on something, and you made it with the intention of getting an answer for what you want to know... instead of just for gold.

i want to add something to this. when people vote on the polls in this forum, they should not only vote, but voice their opinion on the thread itself...

I see it as being a combination of Option One and Option Three. A "serious" poll should not only pique the interest of the pollee, but give significant information to the poller as well.

a seious poll stays on track and gets right into the thought at hand and doesnt constantly swing in and our of the track of thought and doesnt include people like me in it 3nodding
