Eh...I'm with you in the steak department. I love steak. It is kinda odd with me picking a steak and potato and the bf with the shrimp alfredo especially since I'm about twice as big as he is. The beer...eh. I still think it tastes as close to piss as I ever want to get. sweatdrop

I was never aware of this phenomona. I thought that foods only had gender in France, or when you ordered the nasty stuff like mountain oysters. >.o
I don't see beer as a guy food, nor do I assign gender connotations to steaks or chips. I can only think that these have come to be regarded as "guy foods" in our culture because guys are supposed to be muscle-chunks or not care about their appearance at all. And under this non-existent system, girl's don't actually order stuff they want, but get a salad and then gradually steal the guy's appetizers and desert during the course of the meal.
BAH I SAY!
Frankly, if I see any girl eating a good meal, whatever its connotation, I'm happy. That might be cuz I'm a feeder though. >.>

Where I'm from, girls drink beer all the time. I don't, but my friends do, and as far as I know, no one's ever given them crap for it.
Although, one time I was drinking a beer, eating peanuts, and watching a basketball game, and my roomates called me a 40-year old man. But I think that was a bit more justified than what you're talking about.

I'm not really big on beer (I prefer rum or whiskey), but the concept of gender oriented food stuffs is laughable.
... That and everyone loves a cute, tough, beer-swilling, babe. xd

I don't drink anything as I am only 18 and would prefer not to have to pay an underage drinking ticket. : ))
I have dr(a/u)nk(?) before, and beer is okay. I just prefer not to.
I live in Wisconsin. Girls drink guys under the table here. We've got some macho women. I don't think we have too much of that gender-assigned foods thing.

Well, my alcohol consumption is all done at my oldest sister's house. My repertoire consists of beer, rum, coke and rums, and malt liquor.
My sister told me that if I'm going to be smashed off my a**, she doesn't want me doing it on Corona.
This Friday, my friends want me to go to their party and get snockered off my a**.

It's your choice, and if they don't like it, tough. *hands you a plate with steak, sour cream mashed potatoes, and homemade macaroni and cheese, and a Guiness(not sure I spelled that right.)*

It always feels a little akward when you are eating more then your date when you are twice his size. As for the beer thing, so what. Drink up and tell them to bugger off! I really dont like beer myself though, Ide much rather a Jack and Coke or a Long Island Iced Tea ^^
