Episode Zero
In my opinion, you're not a true GW fan unless you've read this manga. Why? Because it's canon and was meant to be in the series. I really wish they'd turned it into an OVA but chances of that are slim now.
My favorite moments:
Relena- when she first met her brother again and the flashback of her taking her first steps. She was a cute pudgy baby. Also, when she showed kindness to the kid who could be Heero.
Heero- when Noin asked Treize to stop callling her Lucrezia and when Heero and Odin where at the airport as father and son.
Duo- when Sister Helen braided Duo's hair...
Trowa- when Midii couldn't admit to Trowa how she felt but was thinking of how much she liked him.
Quatre- seeing Quatre's mother Quaterine. I din't like this much since Quatre was being a spoiled brat. Actually, his attitude is reminiscent of Dorothy's. I guess that's why he told her "I used to be like you." in Ep 48 during the fencing match. He seems so OOC to me here but I guess his kindness developed later.
Wufei- Une's first appearance with Treize and Meiran's death scene. *Sniffle*
So what did you love most about GW's prequel? Let the discussions begin!

What did I love?
I loved the part with Trowa and Midii. That was really touching. And Wufei and Meiran, that helped me understand Wufei a lot better, and gained him a lot of respect from me. Personally, I liked the Relena and Heero moments, where she saw him in the halls and whatever. And Quatre wasn't so bad, but I agree - he really didn't seem like the Quatre I knew. It must have developed later. Maybe the experience did good for him.

Preventer 5 in the back of Episode Zero scared me because not only once but twice we see Wufei joke. It shows that he's spent some time with Duo to have humor rub off on him.
Duo- There was no part of his story that I didn't like. (Though they could have mentioned Solo.) It's the only past that makes me want to cry and hug him.
Heero- Why couldn't he have succeeded in killing Treize then? Would'a saved a lot of people some trouble. But honestly I just love the part where he remined Odin that he's an old man. Poor Odin had to die.
Trowa- I liked it when he was looking out the window passing his sister and not knowing he had family just a stones throw away.
Relena- The only thing about her past that I liked was Zechs' sunglasses.
Quatre- Kitty was a spoiled bratt. I just liked him getting shot because he deserved it.
Wufei- This thing featured Meilan, I could not help but like it. It made me mad that he didn't take her to a doctor first, but I forgive him. It just irritated me that they were so close to an understanding and she died. Oh well I like angst.
Preventer 5- It kicked some major a**!! I liked the little tidbits of where everyone ended up at. Duo was with Hilde ( xp ) Trowa was with Cathy, Heero was probably stalking Relena, and sadly Wufei was with Sally. I like Preventer 5 and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I love Episode Zero. It's actually more backstory than most Gundam characters get, believe it or not. Anyway...
Heero - It's cool seeing where a lot of his personality comes from, and Odin is a great character. Plus, my female friends absolutely adore the image of chibi-Heero cuddling his bazooka. "Happiness is a warm gun" indeed. XD
Duo - Father Maxwell was a fun character. Most priests would be furious at casual blasphemy like Duo's asserting the existence of Death, but not only was Maxwell calm about it, he admitted that Duo had a good point.
Trowa - An actual admission of Trowa and Cathy's siblinghood. Plus, it's nice that they slipped in a reference to Episode Zero in Endless Waltz: in Trowa's flashback, notice that the young Trowa in the Leo is wearing Midii's cross.
Quatre - Yeah, he was a brat, but sometimes that's how life is. Besides, he came around in the end, and became a really likable character.
Wu Fei - Justification and proof that he's not just a mysogynst. This story really makes him look human, and shows that his fierce, unwavering "justice" persona from the series isn't as firm as it seems.
Relena - Young Relena is just so damn cute. ^_^ Also, seeing Zechs pulling an homage to Quattro was fun. And yes, I also see the little bit with Heero as a bit more confirmation of their connection.
Preventer 5 - I'm just amazed that so many people seem to miss Zechs disguised as one of the terrorists in this one...

I'm gonna have to reread that when I get home. I think I was in more shock that Wufei showed his sense of humor.

He shows up after Relena demands to know what the terrorists want. Even with shades and a mask, it's pretty obviously Zechs.

I saw it too, and I got completely confused. I thought, 'Is that Zechs? Naw... no, maybe...' and I kept on debating on whether it was him or not. In the end, I gave up on it, and said to myself it remained to be unknown. XD

It fills a lot of stuff in especially for those of us like me who have only seen the series it links, old, new, series and Waltz characters together like Deikem Barton and Quinze of White Fang. Also it is interesting to see Treize at a younger point in life and how he meets Leia Barton the young woman who will give birth to his bratty offspring later on. And yeah the little points give the characters their own little backstorys like Odin Lowe to kill the real Heero Yuy for example and not to mention meeting Dr J.
Duo went through a pretty rough time in his life but in the end he turned out better for it despite loosing the church and people he cared about.
Trowa's story was interesting full of betrayl I didn't see it cute so much in a way Midii just practically betrayed him but loved him, um that's double crossing I wasn't supprised Trowa left her.
Quatre's was also interesting seeing his mother before she died, gave a little more back story to Quatre and also maturing a little from the bratty Quatre in to the Wing version of himself.
Wufei's was cute with Meiran or Nataku, apart from that it also set up the whole thing between Treize and Wufei before the series even began. Also cool to note the Tallgeese was with Master O at the time.
It all adds something to the characters.

Robin the Aussie Trowa's story was interesting full of betrayl I didn't see it cute so much in a way Midii just practically betrayed him but loved him, um that's double crossing I wasn't supprised Trowa left her. I agree it wasn't really "cute". But I think you're coming off as too hard on Midii. She showed Trowa/Nanashi/Triton that she had a good reason for doing as she did and she also did everything in her power to save him. He left her behind because she had a name and a family to return to. He did not. It's a heartwrenching story from both Trowa and Midii's point of view and obviously my favorite in Episode Zero 3nodding

wow I really can't disect this series....... I loved it all as a whole. I thought it was great how we got to look at all the back story of the characters. I wished they released the Novel version of Episode Zero (which does mention Solo) and fills in a few small gaps the Manga never covered.
