In a follow-up to the story that we posted earlier about ECW returning full-time, the plan was said to be finalized in the last week or so.
WWE is not looking to add a third day to their television schedule. It is believed this will be a mix of both former ECW wrestlers and new WWE developmental wrestlers who have been working house shows under Paul Heyman.
Speaking of Heyman, he will be in charge of the ECW brand. The plan is to run house shows and some form of weekly television as well.
Dave Meltzer reports that it would likely be handled similar to the Superastros deal in the late 90s, with weekly matches taped before either the Raw or Smackdown tapings.

Care to elaborate? when vinnie mac bought out wcw rumor was he planned to using it again. not in the way he did with the wcw/ecw crap on smackdown, but as a seperate brand/promotion. it never happened.

*remembers the small "Ultimo Dragon" reign crying *
yeah, I just hope that they cut it with all the bloodwork because a lot of people actually remember ECW just because of it's violence instead of all the cool matches (like Mosco De La Merced vs. Super Crazy (got it on youtube) mrgreen ), yeah, I just hope they show it for the talent instead of the bloodwork

Sabu just signed a reported 3 year contract with the WWE. Seriously, folks, this guy is broken down. Good for him if he gets this deal, but from a business owner perspective, why buy a guy who is clearly not as productive as he once was? Like I said, good for him on getting some financial stability, but bad on the WWE for buying damaged goods. Sabu was slick in this process by flirting enough with TNA to get a deal. Well done, Sabu.

While the general wrestling public could care less about an ECW return, the internet fans are certainly humming. Is that good or bad? I personally believe that people are wanting Paul Heyman to finally be unleashed and without a WWE filter. However, I've always argued that an ECW product with a WWE stamp will NOT be the same old ECW.

Teh REAL Kat Burglar *starts chants of ECW from the invisible crowd* *Takes out his "invisible bazooka", shoots his "invisible missile", into the "invisible crowd", and blows all the "invisibleness" to heck.* mrgreen Much better. Now that all those "invisible people" are out of the way, I have more room.
