http://img214.imageshack.us/my.php?image=intervtool1b0787lo.jpgArticle Maynard says that APC is probably and(or) definitely dead. I wonder if it is true? I hope so, sorta, 'cause that may mean more Tool. I cant read French, so I'm telling you what people are saying. Oh here's another thing: Quote: Q : What is the future for APC? Maynard : I think it's over. Q : Really? It's sad... Maynard : we pushed this project as far as it could go, and I see ourselves playing again together only in a few years to make one or two songs, nothing more. Quote: He then adds that he only sees APC in a system without labels, big budgets, marketing, where they could play and release new songs whenever they want.

Well, that's depressing.
Although I believe Billy said the same thing a few months back. "A Perfect Circle in it's current form is dead." He's working on his solo stuff now.
The problem with 'super-groups' is keeping them together, not to mention the label problems they were apparently plagued with.
Great while it lasted. There was such a noticeable progression between Mer De Noms and Thirteenth Step, whether you liked the album or not, it's unfortunate we didn't get one more proper album.
I could have sworn they signed to a new label, though.

Also from the interview, apparently:
- They didn't gave titles during the listening session, because the weren't sure about them at the time. Yet Adam mentions "Lost Keys" and "Rosetta" - "Lost keys" is "the introduction to "Rosetta"" - Maynard was there at the beginning of the writing process, then left before coming back. Adam says that it's better than for Lateralus (Maynard only came when all the songs were already written), but he hopes Maynard will be here all the time for the next album. - How Adam would define Tool: "There are a lot of maths, it's heavy and you're not gonna like it." - There is no DVD in the works. There were plans, but they prefered to make a new album. The new album and the tour are the priorities. - They love France. - The set for the tour will be sober, at least for the first shows. - The album is their most personal, it's "coming from the guts". Some usual rant about how Bush is stupid and how the album is about frustration. But Danny adds that the approach to politics in Tool is different from the one of APC, they don't want to adopt a close political discourse which would be fast outdated. - The reviewer says that Danny is more busy than ever on the drums. Danny answers that he's not looking to play a lot of notes but wants to densify the sonic space and to dynamise the music. - They would like to get rid of labels and to do everything by themselves, and they think artists will be able to do so soon. - They don't take themselves seriously at all.
"The interviewer gives his quick impression on the album : "With a enormous bass sound, this new dynamic album mixes big grooves with cutting metal riffs and a real anger. The 11 pieces of this record, 77 minutes of often oppresive music, leaves us breathless.""

Something Wicked Well, that's depressing. Although I believe Billy said the same thing a few months back. "A Perfect Circle in it's current form is dead." He's working on his solo stuff now. I could have sworn they signed to a new label, though. wow man, thats wierd...my friend and I were having this same convo a couple nights ago, and i pretty much said to him what you just said here. and i agree that it IS going to be a shame if we cant get one more album out of them... but, if theres one thing i have learned (especially when Maynard is involved) nothing it ever truly written in stone...even stones can be worn away with time.

lies.... I hope those are lies o_o but I'm not really worried, anything could happen... and we got a lot of time, I'll start suffering if they say something like this in two years from now, when I'd be expecting real news from APC...

I could probably translate that article if anyone actually cares, since I think we've got the important bits.

Perhaps Maynard's just giving himself some time to do some work in his vineyards.
