Ok. I live in wisconsin, and in health class i read in the newspaper that they're considering banning gay marriage. THAT'S A BUCH OF BULL!!

I know that a lot of states have specifically banned it though... I'm unsure of which states though. But with the banning it, was it really ever legal there in the first place? The only state that it's legal to get married in is Massachsetts(w00t!), yet then again, if you're married in Massacuhsetts you can carry over your marriage papers and whatnot to your home state if legalaties allow. I dunno... it's a rather complex issue... though I wish it were just legal throughout the country to get married.

It's not a dumb question... some people don't like marriage in general, so maybe for them gay marriage is something that they don't really care about.
Me on the other hand.... I'm not sure I could marry a man if I couldn't legally marry a women.

I don't care if people do it. I just think it's pointless and outdated.
But I believe in equal rights, so if some people are allowed to do it, everyone should be allowed to do it.

I dont understand why gay marriage has turned into such a problem. Getting married is about committing yourself to the person you love for the rest of you life. If two guys, or two girls want to do that, what does it matter?
They love each other just like a guy and a girl love each other. I dont see why gay marriage is any different then "regular" marriage.

i absolutely agree that gay marriage should be legal for everyone. while i may not care about marriage in general(buncha phooey to me), i sure am not going to force my personal beliefs on people i don't even know, much like fanatic christian lobbyists tend to do. i believe very strongly in equal individual rights, and the say of a christian influenced nation as a whole should not dictate the beliefs of individuals.
lets face it, we live in a nation where most of the population is still christian(though they are losing ground, might i add). unfortunately, our system works(simplisticly) on the opinion of the majority. i do hold out hope that gay marriage will be legal. history tells us that change does happen; the civil rights movement, the womens suffrage movement, anti-slavery, etc. i do think it will happen...even if it takes a while.
this subject really gets me goin, can ya tell? razz
i dont know why it isn't considered legal anyway. buddhists, islamics, wiccans, hinduists, and all the others of different faiths are allowed to get married and still have the same benefits as christian couples. why arent christian groups speaking out against them? are they also desanctifying marriage because of their different beliefs? how about the little old ladies that marry their dogs? i would most certainly think thats more degrading to the sanctity of marriage.

heart Well unfortunately we live in a world of narrow minded people who rarely if ever step out of their little box........it's actually quite pathetic that they're so insecure with themselves that they need to ruin everyone else's happiness just to make themselves fell a tad better. I'm sorry if I offended anyone just now, but I get angry when people do this. It makes me think that the freedom and truth that this country is supposedly founded on is nothing but a bunch of empty platitudes and lies spoonfed to us so that we can keep some form of ethnocentricity. im_ru Mistaken_Angel those who don't sapport it should not be allowed to get Married they shouldnt! i support gay marriage 10 no 100 times more then normal marriage cause i've been noticing in texas (midland where i live) alot of guys are comming out and getting very lucky and i see them getting married to other guys we have a mayor who is gay and i'm very proud of him for letting us have it... now i just need to first have my time.... sad (sorry i don't mean to say that hope everyone ignores that last part... just been having one of my episodes they always happen guys...)
