I don't know how many people here are into FPS games, lol. Anyways, it came out fairly recently and I just passed it about a week ago.
I thought the gameplay was really good. The enemy AI was amazing (they even knock down shelves to block your way and stuff)! Some of the guns were really fun, like two pistols, or a nail gun that actually nails the enemies to the walls (awesome ragdoll physics, btw), and this awesome gun that fries up the enemies and turns them into skeletons in goo.
The scare tactics were extremely heavily influenced by Japanese horror cinema like Dark Water, the Grudge, the Ring, etc... The little girl looks exactly like that and some of the situations/scary things seemed to be taken directly from those movies. Frankly, I thought it was awesome. It made the game pretty creepy.
The general plot idea was interesting, and I was really getting into it, then the game just ended and there were all these questions that weren't resolved. I found that to be really disappointing.
I also found that the demo was actually quite a bit better than the final product. It had some neat features like a breathing effect when your character was scared which, I thought, really added to the creepiness. It also seemed somehow scarier. Mostly, I think, they took all the best parts of the game and put them into the demo, so you'd already seen them and they didn't seem so awesome when you played the final product, and then everything else wasn't as good. It's a shame, really.
The basic plot is this: There's this batallion of cloned soldiers on the loose and their leader can communicate telepathically with them. Your job is to find the leader and stop him. As you go around, you see some weird things like the leader munching on some human corpses, or a little girl who disapears into thin air.
If anyone has finished playing the game, maybe you've had better luck figuring this stuff out than me. Who is the character and why does the leader keep telling you that you are a part of all of this? Also, why does the leader eat humans? Kill, I can understand. Maim, I can also understand. But why eat? How many times did you shoot the fat guy wishing you could kill him?

D: our FEAR doesn't work....
the graphics card is too lame @___@ and the processing power isn't enough
But the multiplayer online works. biggrin yeah, from the demo I played of the single player mode, the AI is nicely done!

I've just started playing it.
I've watched my brother play it a few times though, when he first got it. We played the Co-op mode recently, which was just us running around with shotguns yelling "NAVY SEALS!" and our parents going "what are you two doing?"
I adore the graphics in this game, my computer has a better graphics card than my brother's does, so I get to play on a higher graphics setting. I spent awhile just running around going "Heyheyhey this looks so much cooler with my graphics =D".
Does anyone else FREAKOUT when they accidentally bump something? I keep accidentally bumping chairs and freaking out and shooting things xD. And those damn rats that run out, I always end up shooting them too.
Also, who plays online? My brother's been playing online since the online thing came out. He used to be in the clan [e] but that died so now he's in [Di]. I haven't started playing online properly but I've played a few times against my brother and it's pretty fun. Slide kicking is AWESOME.
I love the nail gun too xD. My bro and I were playing in Co-op and this guy was sitting in a chair so I snuck behind him and managed to nail his head to his crotch xD. We screenshotted that xD.
Has anyone played Extraction Point, the expansion pack? Apparently that answers a lot of the questions they left at the end.

Oh man the first time I played through FEAR was great. I got the crap scared out of me by a sandwich while playing it too (my room mates girlfriend made me a sandwich and set it next to me on the desk, i didn't notice cuase I was so focused on the game, turned saw the sandwich that had just appeared, she tapped me on the other shoulder right I accidently hit the mouse botton...you get the picture) but yeah great game and loads of fun.
