It's almost time for our annual drag ball on campus, where we have amateur drag performers and food and dancing at a nearby hotel. This year I'm co-hosting... our top drag queen and drag king were decided at an event in the fall, so we've got to mc it. Let me tell you, I'm petrified!!!
Anyways, my main character is a scientist/dork named Atom Bonds. (see my sig) I'll have plenty of time, probably two or three numbers to perform, as well as small talk and such. In the past I've done "She Blinded Me with Science", an oldschool science song called "Electricity", and as a pop-y 60s tune the Turtles' "Elenore". I was thinking of maybe doing "Conjunction Junction" from school house rock. So I'll need one or two other songs.
Any suggestions for dorky/science songs? They'd be appreciated ^^
Also, I'd like a bit of advice... I plan to intro a new character! The main idea behind this is that, as a scientist, I drink a potion or something, and transform (Jekyl and Hyde anyone?) to my alter ego.
So far the best name I've come up with is Adam Bondage. But this implies that I'll have to wear sexy manclothes and go from dork to hot in a short period of time. ^^;; I also sort of want to make an 80s goth character ala the Cure or the Smiths. I don't really have clothes for either yet, but I plan on shopping later this week.
Any opinions and/or song suggestions for either drag character would be really appreciated ^^

biggrin Man, I wish I lived on your campus; sounds awesome! I like your Jekyl to Hyde idea, but I would imagine that the viability of a performance like that would hinge largely on the amount of time you had between numbers. Hm, perhaps you could take a few short cuts if need be. You know, like throw on some sun glasses and open a few buttons on your oxford?
neutral Mm, I've never had to think about how to make myself look more masculine... Not that I'm the "Adam Bondage" type; I'm just, you know, a man. confused

Thanks for your help, I performed this past friday. I was MC, so that helped, because I could come out in a bit of a flurried state. I ended up saying that I'd brought my homework with me and I'd been doing chemistry backstage, and had inhaled too much fumes. My glasses and hair were in disarray and such.
Then I changed during the next song, and came out in a skater boy outfit, and did SuperRad by the Aquabats.
The other songs I did were Weird Science, and Conjunction Junction.
I didn't officially put a name on my skater boy, but there might be a different outfit next time, so I think I might collectively refer to the alteregos as Atom's Package. ^^
