As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation!
If less than 22 feet, you get blown out of formation, but are agile enough to avoid getting hit with Thread. Hurry now -- better make it back before your Wingleader scolds you!
If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up straining a muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated. -4 HP
If 36'-46', you're able to fight the wind with relative ease. Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch! Moderate Damage -8 HP
Bhavarath's roar of pain actually caught and broke free again as a muscle he twisted trying to stay in formation seized up. L'zant stiffened as well then exhaled hard as the wave of pain broke over them.
No, that's it, I think, L'zant thought to his friend. Let the younger hotshots ignore the pain. They had too much experience for a bad night like this to be worth the risk. They'd let the healers take a look.

They saw the rippling sheet, and though Mnereth had started to flame, the wind was more than enough to knock him straight into it. He bellowed with surprise and pain, and K'lar visualized the Weyrbowl as hard as he could before he took them Between.

You try to flame down some Thread, but your flame comes up short. Whoops! Hopefully your Wingleader didn't see that. Nothing to be done about it now except eat some more firestone, and try to catch the next clump!
The 'Fall was beginning to wind down, but it was still treacherous at the high altitude, and W'ill and Faloth were exhausted. Still they fought on, Faloth swinging around to flame some thread. Somehow he fell short of his target, though, and W'ill looked around to see if Z'tir had noticed. With a shrug he fed more firestone to Faloth and went after the next clump.

As you fight against a strong gust of wind, you feel something pull! Uh-oh. There's a pain in your wing muscle that hadn't been there before. This isn't good, especially this high up! Still, your dragon fights on.
Not only was the Thread up here brutal, but the wind was too. Faloth fought against a sudden gust when he felt a sudden pain in his right wing muscle. He wasn't about to give up, though, not with Thread still being a threat. He fought on through the pain, as he and W'ill had through most of this 'Fall.

A strong gust of wind pushed against Faloth, and once again he fought to stay in formation. Once again he pulled a wing muscle, and this time W'ill noticed. Do we need to get to a dragonhealer?
No! I will continue to fight! Victory is in our sights!

Blasted all! As you jump Between to avoid a clump of Thread, the winds change, and when you appear from the icey depths, it's right into a major sheet of Thread! Heavy Damage: -8 HP! They also now suffer a Painful status for the next 3 turns. This will negate any XP gained, and cause double damage if the prompt includes damage (or has you roll for damage).
Faloth hopped between to dodge a wind-blown clump of Thread, but when he emerged it was right into a massive wall of the silver menace! Overwhelmed, both rider and dragon blacked out from the pain and fell from the sky...

Niobet amd Aedeth - flying to catch W'ill and brown Faloth
Another dragon overwhelmed by Thread and wind. Nature needed to understand that the dragons were doing their jobs, and stop trying to destroy them!

Your gold makes the catch successfully! It goes relatively smoothly, and you're only too happy to deliver them back to the Weyr. Unfortunately, somewhere during the trip, the dragon's claws wind up cutting into your queen's back. Ouch! Minor Damage -2[
All things considered, a couple of cuts could be brushed aside. Faloth and his rider were delivered safely to the Weyr and the harried-looking healers.

Hour 4, Round 2 1. +2 Stamina 2. +1 Luck
As the night wore on, the conditions only got worse and worse, and they were taking their toll on all the wings. It wouldn't be much longer now before the Fall was over, but it couldn't come soon enough. Still compared to others, Nadry and Menankith had fared well thus far.
Between the Thread, the wind, and the darkness, these conditions couldn't have been much more dangerous, and all of a sudden, something just felt wrong...alarmed, Menankith called out to a nearby wingmate to let a patch of Thread go, and even as they hopped Between to safety, the wind gusted it right where they would have been.
Nadry guided Menankith Between to avoid a fast-falling clump of Thread, but unfortunately, in the dark they hadn't been able to clearly see that there was an entire sheet being blown toward their intended target, and so they came out right in the middle of it. Though they quickly blinked away again, they were both hurting when they returned.

Dobrokhoth didn't like these flying conditions at all, and something felt particularly off...suddenly suspicious, he called out to a wingmate, warning them not to trust the wind and let a clump of Thread go. And he was right! The wind soon blew the clump right where their face would have been.
