Twog sighed in defeat. There were no cards. Of course not. Everything else was in shambles. Why not the card tables? Looking around for an idea, he patted his finger against his chin as he thought.
What could he use for cards?
Leaves? No. That would never work. And leaves were much too easy to cheat with. Sticks? No. Nobody wanted to play pick up sticks. He found that out ages ago. Eyes alighting on the food table, he saw cups. It was then that a wicked smile flew across his face. Of course.
He walked over and investigated the cups. Red and opaque, they looked like white porcelain with a deep blushed colored coating of paint. Perfect. He looked around d again and saw his next target in the shadows. Walking over to the pinecone laying under one of the skewed chairs, he smiled and quickly gathered his supplies.
Heading back to the table he set the pinecone down, and one of the three glasses on top of it. Then he sat the other two besides it and gave them a practice swivel. They slide beautifully across the felted table. Not an ounce of drag.
His smile turned downright diabolical.
Turning back to the crowd that was starting to show up, he began hocking his new game just like a back alley gambler.
"Come one, come all. Find the pine cone, win a fortune!" All bets taken!! His voice was smooth and lustrous, a conman's voice if there ever was one. The fortune bit was a tiny lie, but hey. They didnt need to know that. This party needed entertainment.
Fea Line just so you know where he's at

As he entered the hotel, Enfys thought back to the previous year. The memories had started to fade, but he had enjoyed his time hanging out with another teenager at the party. The party... really hadn't ended all that well though, from what he had seen. Had it all just been a show? It was hard to know, there was so much he didn't understand back then as a young pae. The invitation surprised him this year though, the party was still going on, so everything must have been just fine in the end. At least he didn't need to ask his dad to tag along with him this time. Less worrying for them both.
The hotel looked almost exactly as he remembered it... and yet, small details were changed, things that Enfys was blind to notice. He did notice that the party itself didn't seem as grand as he remembered it. "Hmm." That happened sometimes though, right? Memories from youth could be more glamorous than reality. The party would still be fun, he could try playing cards again like he did last time. Enfys made his way to the card tables... and yet, there was no dealer. "Maybe I'm here early..." Enfys looked around awkwardly to see if he could find any familiar faces.

Krayyven wasn't sure why she was here honestly. She had heard things from her mother as well as others in passing she had watched out of amusement but so far it seemed....well literally dead. Part of her had hoped that handsome firebird was around somewhere as she had quite enjoyed her time with him and wanted to spend soooo much more. She had also heard there were other males usually hanging around this place and wasn't opposed to more glorious attention.
Seemed she had been lied too.
Wandering over to a table to eye the slim pickkings, she huffed disgustedly, her feathers all a-fluff from irritation, at least until something colorful hit her eye.
A rather curious and bright male passed by, seemingly just as disappointed as she was in the state of things. Compared to the firebird? Well he wasn't much but compared to most other males? He was quite the catch. Grinning, Krayyven supposed she'd have a bit of sport, seeing as there was nothing else to do.
Moving up to him, she grabbed the end of his cat like tail, bringing the fuzzy tip to brush against her cheek in a testing manner. "Well well, aren't you quite the enticing morsel?" she cooed.

Eszra found herself at another of these parties, though many years had slipped through since the last time she had visited one. "Hmm, don't quite remember it being this..." she paused, her face forming a sort of frown as she struggled to find a word for how run down the place was. She found none suiting. "Well this." she finished, her wings slightly fluttering before nestling against her back.
As she looked around with much more enthusiasm than probably needed, her flaming antenna bounced atop her head, framing her features in a sort of glow. "Not sure there is anyone even worthy of entertainment, don't you think Nippy?" she blinked, raising her staff and speaking to the currently inanimate turnip dangling from its top end. "Mmmm, no, didn't think so." she added, finding a set of stairs and wandering to the top of them.
At first she wouldn't have even seen anyone until the sound of retching echoed off the walls and what little light her flames made seemed to just outline a figure in near fetal position on the floor. "Or perhaps I spoke to soon." she grinned, striding up to the figure, bending down so her face was rather awkwardly close to his. "Alright there, hmm?" she asked, blinking hard at him for a moment. "Why do you look familiar...." she about purred, realization not quite set in yet.... but it was getting there.

Parker held the invitation close, tight, so tight he had almost torn it several times already. Slightly his hands shook as he stepped into the temple and looked around. His brows furrowed at the state of things, the obvious attempt to cover up scenes but the lack of care that went into it. He had hoped that this invitation had meant that the whispering of the last party weren't true. That his dad was indeed ok, that Venus was ok and things would be back to normal.... but it seemed his hopes were set too high.
While Pete and himself weren't like the others here, not a god in any sense of the word, Pothos was still his father. He wasn't a perfect father, wishy-washy by all means and sometimes even acted scared of his brother and himself but... well one can't help but love his own parents. At least in Parker's mind.
So....here he was....hopes obviously way too high, standing out in the middle, just kind of glancing around like a deer caught in headlights, feeling his hopes come crashing down like a wave of his own god-dad's tears.

Domini had decided to come to this Venus Day party mostly for one reason. The food. He didn't care much about anything else, but he wanted to at least have some of the buffet. He had heard that the party could get pretty crazy and wouldn't be staying for that part. Or if he found it to be too uh... out of control, he wouldn't stay even for the food.
He was happily surprised however when it seemed that this year it would be a very low-key event. There were barely any decorations, pae seemed to be standing there and talking, perhaps he could get through all of this unscathed after all!
Upon entering he had immediately headed for the food and grabbed himself a plate, completely missing the fact that most pae seemed to be uncomfortable at the event and there was an air of uneasiness around. He moved back to the main pool to pick at his food as he watched the "festivities" but even if he didn't like crazy parties, this one seemed particularly boring.
((Domini is open for interaction!)) ----------------------------------------
Beryl had been told about the "Venus Day Party" through whispers and angry hisses and had decided to check it out for herself. She had slowly slithered in and was immediately disappointed. "Greatessst party. What liesss." She mumbled to herself as she looked around. Still, she hopped that Eris would show up and "liven" up the party somehow. They still seemed to try to be celebrating Venus and well, that just wouldn't do.
She thought she saw another slithering in the corner of her eye, but dismissed it as she decided to move over to the "buffet" that they had out and immediately started loading food onto it. At some point she had more than she should have, but she didn't care. If she had to be at this party then she was going to get something out of it.
shadica Maybe they can share/fight over food *shrugs*

Twog was in the middle of shuffling cups around when there was a rather robust tug of his tail. Yelping, his hand flew up and the pinecone under the cup went flying across the room. He had just gotten that one too. Damnit.
Turning toward the....well, giant grape colored bird, he attempted to yank his tail back while giving her a dirty look. He also growled "MINE", his words taking a bit more of an accent as though this language wasn't his first. Which it wasn't. He had grown up speaking the language of his bat dad, not the one that Momo spoke. Much to Momo's chagrin.
Not that the tail tug had hurt. It was just that surprise had a tendency to bring out Twogs more feral side. He had been repeatedly stolen and raised in the woods whenever Grant could manage, afterall. But alas, most people hated his ferality. So he learned at a later stage to water himself down when he was among people. Blinking at the purple bird, he purposefully and slowly relaxed his face and body and tried again.
"Er....I mean, kindly let go of my tail, please. If you want a snack, there are some....less than favorable offerings on the table. " He asked, his accent trace gone with his new calmness.
