「PERSONALITY」
Sweet, caring, and gentle, Silky is a soft wolf who just wants to love others and be loved. Unfortunately, she's had a rather rough beginning to her life and is still working through those issues. While she's incredibly open to other wolves and would do anything to make someone happy, Silky is unlikely to tend to her own needs and often forgets she even has them.
Silky is deaf -- completely. She was born deaf and has learned to gesture to communicate. Not many know her form of communication, however, and so she relies heavily on her friend Calico and her familiar Chirp; both know exactly what her gestures mean and are entirely happy to communicate vocally for her. Silky is eager to teach others how to talk to her, however she gets overwhelmed easily. She knows it's frustrating to communicate with someone who doesn't even know how to verbally speak and she often isn't sure the best method to show others her language.
She is trusting despite her past. She wants to love, desperately. She keeps her heart open and welcomes anyone who wishes into her life. She doesn't want to let what has happened to her ruin the chances to make wonderful friends and perhaps someday find a mate. As a result she is easily hurt and manipulated. She wants to see the best in others and will ignore ever warning sign in the book to do so.
She often shows affection with head bumps and brushing against others. She can't verbalize her feelings, after all, so she's a very physical wolf. In addition to that, her emotions are often right on her face and easy to read. You'll know immediately if you've upset her or if she's happy.
She has low self-esteem. She's been abandoned by someone she was madly in-love with and it was due to her disability. It's hard to get past that experience and see her own worth. She's difficult -- she knows this! She is always looking to see if she annoys someone; for any sign they'll leave. She keeps these feelings bottled up, but Silky fears the day others are done with her. She'd let it happen, of course, and probably with a smile -- but it'd hurt. Deeply. She'd never inconvenience someone by asking them to stay when they don't want to.
Silky makes things. Mostly she is currently stuck to making larger things weaving large leaves together and such, but she hopes to bond with a raccoon soon to work on smaller tasks. ________________________________

「BIOGRAPHY」
█ || Puppy ⋯ Silky was desperately wanted by her parents. Born into a wandering pack, Silky was met with great joy. At first they didn't catch that she was deaf -- puppies don't react to sound right away. However, as her siblings grew and she didn't answer her families calls they realized she was deaf. Her parents didn't mind, though -- they loved her unconditionally.
Her pack gossiped often, but Silky was blessed with the inability to hear it! As a young puppy she met Calico, another boy born at the same time she was. They became fast friends. Calico created a way for her to communicate with gestures and it was as if the world opened up for her. She was able to, with Calico's help, teach her family and finally speak to them. Equipped with this new skill, she tried to show her pack. Not many bothered to learn, but some did and that was enough.
Silky met a boy named Flames Within as a teenager. He joined the pack alongside his parents and immediately seemed smitten with her. Silky wrapped up most of her attention in him, adoring his gaze and happily allowing his advances. They began dating almost immediately, much to Calico's dislike. He often would warn Silky of the red flags he saw, yet Silky vehemently refused to believe them.
Yet, Calico was right. Flames Within refused to learn her way of communicating. He'd grow angry at her for not catching onto things fast enough. He was too rough sometimes; play turning into a cut here and a scrape there. He'd yell at her, although it wasn't as if Silky could hear it. She didn't mind, though. It was just who he was, and as long as he loved her she was happy. ________________________________
█ || Adult ⋯ Her relationship ran through her teenager years and into the beginning of her young adult years. Flames Within proposed to Silky using the packs traditions and she accepted. Calico tried one more time to warn her, however she didn't listen (again).
So when she found Flames Within in a den with another she-wolf it was a complete surprise. Even more so when Flames Within lashed out at her physically. She didn't understand -- weren't they happy? Had she done something wrong? She crumbled as within days he distanced himself from her and pushed her away when she came close. He shunned her, and her heart broke. Later, with great reluctance, one of her siblings told her what they overheard; he had left her because he didn't want to be with someone 'like her' anymore. She was 'damaged goods'.
Silky did not handle this well. In fact, she didn't handle anything. She withdrew into her den and wasted away. Calico did his best to try and help her, but she barely acknowledged him. Months passed and Silky grew more and more desolate. Finally, her parents approached Calico with a desperate plea to take her from the pack and find a new home where she can recover. Seeing Flames Within and his new mate was tearing her apart, and the Alpha was doing nothing to help.
Calico agreed. It was hard to convince Silky to leave -- impossibly so. She wouldn't leave, and so Calico would have to do something he'd forever agonize over; trick her. When the pack packed up its things and began a journey to another temporary home he convinced her they'd go to the location using a shortcut, promising her it'd be nicer to travel without seeing Flames Within for the moment. She agreed, not noticing when he led her off the path and in the opposite direction.
Days passed until Calico 'admitted' they were lost. Silky panicked, returning the way they came only to find the previous camp grounds completely empty. Their scents had been washed during a storm and there was no way to track them down. Calico feigned the inability to remember where they were going and, with an aching heart, watched her struggle to find a scent.
She never did. They were unable to find where the pack had settled. Calico promised her it'd be okay -- the pack wandered constantly and they would likely come back these parts someday. Silky accepted this claim uneasily. In the meantime, Calico convinced her to try and enjoy a hike with him. Something to clear her mind.
This is when they met The Crows. Big Bad spotted the two close to his borders and invited them in -- if they would pass the trial. Calico rejected the offer at first, insisting they'd be fine on their own. It wasn't long after when Silky came down with a fever. Not trained in medicines, he ran to The Crows and begged them to help. Silky was brought into the pack while Calico waited at the borders.
Weeks passed and eventually Silky regained her health. Grateful for the pack, she returned to Calico with a request; to stay with The Crows until they found their pack again. Calico accepted her plea and they both took the trial.
Time has passed and Silky has begun to question if she actually ever wishes to leave. She misses her family... but she's happy where she is.
