Sugichi quickly stepped back from the crowd as he was freed from his stone prison. He looked around for his savior, and gave a quick nod of thanks as he looked around at the mess. Things escalated rapidly from there. Chaos broke out in the distract as jutsu and powerful shinobi flooded the area. The kage and APD made appearances personally in an attempt to quell the crowd. For a moment, things seemed like they were going to be okay. Until the light began striking from the sky. Sugichi was frozen in place as the kage was struck down, along with the kind man that had been trying to calm the crowd when Sugichi had first arrived. Memories of his squad being wiped out in the academy slammed to the forefront of his mind, and the boy gripped the handle of his shield tightly and bared his jaw as he looked around desperately for a way to help. Unfortunately he was just no use here. The big leagues had already stepped in, and some of them had already paid the price. It wasn't until now that his body revealed how much of a toll the mess had taken on it. Afterall, he was was still technically recovering, and he was still just a student, not even a full fledged ninja. His legs began to shake slightly, and his back began to ache and arch as the muscles started to wear down. Knowing he'd hit his limit, he took a seat near a medical tent, and slowly drifted off to an exhausted slumber before being carted off for basic recovery at the infirmary.

He'd wanted to change, it having been a while since he last washed up, but there just wasn't any time for that. That was also, in part, why he hadn't taken Musica's possible invitation to join her, Seika, and Kenshin in deciding Arashi's future. Scarlet eyes stared down at the spot where Takao fell. Then they surveyed a little bit further away, looking at those places where Miyuki and Thresher were also stabbed and taken. Before the trail went any colder, he needed to scrounge whatever information he could find. He mentally traced those brilliant spears of light she still remembered, eyes moving across the slums scenery as if he could see the spears even now. With memory so vivid, he might as well have been able to. Traced them until he reached their point of origin up in the sky. That... really could have been cast from anywhere.

But most techniques require line of sight. It wasn't a certainty, but it was a start. Closing his eyes, irises glowed red beneath his eyelashes as he cast the Kagura's Mind's Eye technique. First, taking snapshots of the jutsu's point of origin, then placing it at the point of origin itself and surveying the area beneath as far as the eye could see. Hopefully, by combining this sensory technique with the Sharingan's Insight, there were some traces Kagerou could pick out.

User covers one eye. For each rank, the user can examine an additional thread. This reveals anything a naked human eye could witness, but with the benefit of being able to move into aerial positions and through building restrictions. If the user has doujutsu, they are able to perceive through their doujutsu's special abilities passively if they have any. At S+ rank, this can be used to view an entire subforum.

• Piercing: Can view chakra brightly and see their shapes distinctly from other ninjutsu. Can see the type of chakra being used, be it elemental, bloodline, clan, or maruton, and also covers the strength of the jutsu prior to it actually being launched. In addition to the increased defense against sight based genjutsu and their last chosen addition, the user may choose an third sense to have a rank increased defenses against. This is a one time choice that can not be changed as it is specific to how the user's eyes develop.
