"It's time," Varys would say aloud as he stood beside his desk, looking down at the map that was brought to him by Diane and Cyrus earlier that day. Immediately after gaining new intel from his guards and guard captain regarding the location of the remaining extremists at large, Varys immediately put out an order for a small skilled squadron to be formed and report directly to the training grounds. After they had left the office, Varys plotted out several different paths and routes to take to the location, so that they could surround them and give them no route to escape. Soon he would give his strategy and plan of attack to the squadron chosen to complete this mission, and he had decided that he himself would lead them.
Standing then, Varys turned and started walking towards the door as he held a hand out towards his sides. His lance and shield that were behind him lifted into the air and slowly moved to his arms, mounting and donning them both as he made his way to his door. Without looking back, Varys suddenly waved one of his hands down forcefully, and a dagger that was hanging from a broken display case suddenly darted down at the desk, piercing the spot on the map that marked the extremist's location so hard that it cracked the desk and caused it to buckle and fold in upon itself.
Out the door he would charge, heading through the halls of the city's formal headquarters until he reached the large gated doors leading to the courtyard in the back. The guards posted at the door went to open the large gates once they caught sight of their Lord Marshal charging forward, however they would be a bit too slow, as without lifting a hand the doors started to creak open on their own. Instead, the guards simply stood their positions and lowered their heads, saluting to their Lord and Commander as he stormed past them and walked through the doors into the courtyard. The men were ready, and it was time to wipe out these extremists once and for all

The moment he had heard the order, Aldaine was out of bed, washed, fed and watered, suited up and waiting in the city guards training grounds. Varys stood in front of them, heavy plate armour donned, lance and shield at his side. Aldaine kept his eyes on the Lord Marshalโs behaviour. The fact that Aldaine was still suspicious of what Varys was hiding. However, he was willing to put those suspicions aside and walk the line of โthe enemy of my enemy is my friendโ. He thought of the term loosely as there was no guarantee that Varys was his enemy, however, the jaguar received a vibe from the Lord Marshal that he didnโt like.
Regardless, Aldaine looked around and made his own little personal inspection of the selection of soldiers picked for whatever the Lord Marshal had planned were of sufficient quality it terms of build and form. They all seemed strong, capable, battled-hardened and sophisticated. The jaguar supposed it was just his nature as a former captain kicking in. Regardless of any of that, appearances was one thing, actions was another. Varys hadnโt gathered this amount of guards since the memorial ceremony that took place after the attack, so this gathering must have been important. In Aldaineโs case, he personally hoped that this gathering had been called to finally deal with the rest of the extremists, but as nothing was certain, he didnโt jump to conclusions.
Attentive as ever, Aldaine awaited Varys instructionsโฆ
Sarai had urgent orders to report to the training area for the city guards. This order came from Lord Marshal Richard Varys. According to the order, recent information regarding the last remaining extremists responsible for the attack during the last Autumn festival has revealed their location. This location has yet to be revealed to her and the other guards standing with her. All they can do wait further orders from the marshal, who is bound to appear any moment soon. Sarai looked at her surroundings. This training hall is not a place she is familiar with since she has never trained here. She certainly sees the advantage of training in this area, but she always figured getting accustomed to the city environment is the right choice when she plans her regiments. Another thought that popped into her head is Emma. Sarai did not like having to leave early without saying a proper goodbye, although she left a note explaining why she had left so quickly. Hopefully she will be able to make it up to her. As soon as she heard the doors open, she and the other guards stood at attention as Varys walked into the courtyard. Surely he will soon explain to them what their tasks are.

Cyrus Marshall ~ The City Barracks - Training Area ~
"Be Wary of your Leaders" That sentence had clawed its way into his mind each and every time he had been in the presence of someone whom he had come to know as 'Leader' but with his made to promise to his shadowy contact, Cyrus would resist any urge to question or call anyone out about their plans...instead, ensuring he would be as protected as he could, should anything go awry.
Like Aldaine, the Tiger was up and ready to go the moment the order reached his notice, now, standing within the Training area, clothed in his armour, Cyrus would take a moment to scan those already gathered before slipping into line between Aldaine and Sarai, nodding in subtle acknowledgement to them both before his eyes snapped towards the one who had gathered them all together as he made his way into the courtyard through the large gates.
The entire Training area - still unsurprisingly new to the Tiger - fell into a respectful silence as Varys stormed into view, the man was well certainly well equipped and with his Shield and Lance in hand, it was clear he meant business. Had he been a little less wiser than he was now, Cyrus may have muttered a comment to his nearest comrade, but the stern look upon Vary's face reinforced the need to keep frivolities to one-self.

He was very pleased with what his efforts had amounted to. After giving his intel to Cyrus, the shifter had presented it to his superior officer, likely his Captain of the Guard, who had then presented it to the Lord Marshal. The information of course, after having been investigated, had resulted in critical and immediate action on the Lord Marshalโs part. As a result, the man himself had rounded up his guards and would now be leading the charge to take down the last of their enemy โ or at least the enemy that they knew of.
As the Lord Marshal stepped out of the door, looking menacing in his full armor, his shield on his arm and his spear in hand, the mysterious figure grinned under his mask. โWelcome to the partyโฆโ He whispered, his gaze narrowing as he watched from on high, observing the scene from the rooftops overlooking the training area. Blending into the shadows, he looked to see whom the Lord Marshal had chosen for this mission. As far as he could tell, there would be more than enough man power to take down the โnestโ the extremists were hiding out in. But just in case, he was going to tag along to make sure that no one escaped for a second timeโฆ
Charging out into the training yard, Varys immediately looked over everyone present. He had four post HQ guards standing in the back, weapons ready as they waited for orders, along with three of their top-tier guards, once part of reynard's personal unit, 1st Lieutenant Sarai Kuuma, 2nd Lieutenant Cyrus Marshall, and one of their newer but potent soldiers, Aldaine De'Fraye. Varys' eyes narrowed as he looked them all over, especially at Aldaine. The man that was the target of the extremists, caught up in this whirlwind of terror as Reynard and so many others fought to protect the town. Varys didn't blame him, to do so would bring clout on Reynard's judgment, a man that Varys trusted more than any other. The thing he was looking for most was this soldier's desire to end this just as much as any other. He was in Eoana, part of Eoana now. So to see the fury in his eyes against those that would harm Eoana, was what would confirm Reynard's actions.
Shutting his eyes for a moment, he took a breath before looking up and speaking. "The day of reckoning for the garbage that would dare harm our people is finally upon us, those that would dare besmirk the lives of our people. Today we shall man an expedition to wipe them off the face of Eoana!" Varys said with a bit of unchecked aggression in his voice. As he spoke, another guard came up behind him and knelt low, handing him a scroll before retreating. Varys unrolled in front of everyone and started to speak once more.
"As you all know, on that fateful day we were maliciously attacked in a devasting ambush by the enemy, intelligence states there were sixteen extremists involved in the attack split into teams across our city. While their true goal was not met, they did considerable damage to the city, and stole many lives. As skilled as we may consider ourselves, we must be vigilant, these are not bargain bandits, but powerful merceneries and skilled soldiers." Varys said while looking out over everyone, a firm expression in his eyes.
"As stated, there were sixteen extremists in the attack, ten of which were dispatched in the attack. Most recently, three more were dispatched in the forest, leaving only three remaining. Our investigation states that the three remaining extremists are fairly dangerous, especially one in particular that we assume to be among them. This target is the leader of the extremists, a skilled merc first thought killed in the attack on the docks, but their body was never recovered, we should assume the worst case scenario and that he is present among them. Now to our plan of attack..." Varys said while holding out the scroll to one of his guards who came out and held it up for everyone to see. The scroll had a map of the entire island of Eoana, and Varys would point out the location of the extremists, as well as a point of entry for them all so that they could ensure they get them all.
Once they were close, the fastest of them were to break off and head around the location to flank from the opposite side, Varys would choose Aldaine and Cyrus for this role, as shifters they would be able to get into position faster than the rest. The rest would flank from the remaining corners, two left, and two right while the Lord Marshal and one other charged in from the south. They would approach from four sides and attack in full. After going over the specifics of the plan, Varys would hold his hand up and release the remaining guards back to their duties, leaving only the seven guards chosen for this mission, and himself. "We leave immediately," Varys said without any further inference. Just as soon as he finished speaking, he turned towards the exit and started to march out towards the forest, leading them all towards the forest, and ultimately to the hills and grounds where the extremists were hidden.
It seemed that the jaguarโs personal hopes were recognised. By the Lord Marshalโs own admission, this gathering was called in order to eradicate the remaining Trendelonian extremists that still remained on the island. Aldaine, with an even greater interest, listened to the battle plan Varys had laid out, paying attention to every detail. From what he gathered, Aldaine and Cyrus would be working in unison on this one. Such a notion, in and of itself, somewhat comforted Aldaine. It was well established by now that the jaguar viewed the tiger as a valued friend and comrade. The tiger had always been there for him, Aldaine still fondly remembered how Cyrus comforted him in his time of grief when they had lost Reynard.
As Aldaine pondered the situation before them, he could not stop the images of Arthur and Gerot emerging in his mind. Were this 2 months ago, heโd have instantly become bitter and cold with those around him, lashing out, ordering people to stay away and withdrawing himself from those he cared about. While some sparks of that aggression still remained, Aldaine could not shake the far more overbearing sense of confusion and lack of understanding. The one question that had plagued the jaguar for so long was โWhy?โ. When Aldaine was a child, he had admired these men. He had loved his father as he though his father loved him. He had held Gerot with the utmost trust as his mentor who man him into the warrior he was. In his childish carefreeness, he believed these two men who he had loved and cared for had love and cared for him just as much. But now that they were brought to this point, Aldaine had to wonderโฆwas it all a lie? Was anything from those times, the feelings, the laughter, all those training sessions with Gerot, all the fond and heart-warming memories he had shared with Arthur, was it all a masquerade, a mere pointless farce? With any luck Aldaine would eventually learn these answers.
Aldaineโs suspicions of Varys still remained. However, for now, he would play along. He would deal with one problem at a time. At Varysโ order, Aldaine would depart with the rest of the men gathered as they embarked to bring this matter to a close. Regardless of what happens, Aldaine would find Arthur and Gerot and he would get his answers, or at the very least, he would die trying.

Varys confirmed the reasoning behind his order for some guards to report in this to the city training area. The last of the extremists have been found and today is the day that they are wiped out. Hopefully this will bring peace to the innocent, both dead and alive. It will be Sarai's chance to honor her former captain's sacrifice by making sure that none of these evil men ever have a chance to take another innocent life again. However, as Varys has mentioned, these extremists are not just simple bandits. They are powerful individuals. One wrong move can mean their deaths, and Sarai has no intention to die this day. What is the plan of attack? The first step is to march to the location where the extremist are, although once they are getting close is when they break off into teams. Aldaine and Cyrus will team up and sneak around the back. They are shifters who can transform to speedy animals, so it makes sense for them to travel the farthest. By the time they arrive, everyone else will be in position. Sarai has been assigned to one of the teams who will strike from one of the remaining corners. With the plan laid out and no further questions asked, she along with the rest of the guards began marching their way to where the extremists are hiding. There is no telling what will happen when they get there despite their plan, so remaining vigilant will be the key to not only her survival, but everyone else.

Cyrus's ears twitched as Varys began to speak to them as a whole, his comment about the assailants - although laced with some hatred - were no doubt a lighter version of what may well have been passing through Cyrus' comrade's minds as he spoke... The Tiger's eyes watched as their leader was handed a scroll, wondering quietly to himself exactly what contained before returning his gaze towards Varys as he began relaying the total number of extremists who had laid waste to their beautiful city and how they were not to be taken lightly for these mercenaries were both skilled and powerful...
He remembered his recent encounter with one of the three to have survived the initial attack and furrowed his brow, recalling how even though he had lost control to his Feral Form, the beast - which to him was much stronger than when he usually had the reins - had also found its own altercation with the Hyena quite the struggle... If the trio in the forest had been a challenge, then there was no doubting they needed to keep their wits about them when they finally crossed paths with these more experienced individuals...
The scroll was finally lifted and revealed to be a map of the entire island upon which they stood. The Tiger's eyes followed each point that was highlighted and he put what he could to memory, listening as the man went into detail the roles which he and Aldaine would take - working with the others to then attack on all sides - cutting off any chance of escape.
As soon as the plan was laid out, Varys would announce that they would leave immediately and those who hadn't been dismissed would now begin to file into position behind their commander as he made his exit.
"Hard to say how I feel...nervous, excited maybe...?" he mused quietly in Aldaine's direction, "Guess I'm just glad I've got you watching my back this time," he would smile encouragingly towards his comrade, confident that even though they'd barely survived their latest altercation alone, their combined strength would see them through the coming challenge.
