- From contest entry: In spite of his name, Silver Lining isn't...as outwardly positive as you'd think. He's every bit as contemplative and somber as his father, accepting the worst result before he even hears about it because that's just what life is: a series of unfortunate events. As a result, however, Silver Lining is incredibly compassionate towards others and their plights--well, to those that get past his gallows humor anyway. Every bad thing has some good to follow, every cloud has its...well, you know. He's just ready to get rained on first. Or stormed on. Or hurricaned. Or--
What you see is a sad, strange little phony. Silver Lining knows this. It's genetic, it's homebrewed, it's inescapable history. But he's a gentle and slow phony who only wants to help. He just has...issues looking anything other than pitiful, as his already low amounts of energy have already been allocated towards others and their wellbeing.
Is he bothered by the fact that those who know about his mother might be biased against him? It's hard not to be, but he tries not to show it.
