> Shapeshifting: Esmée is able to change from her human form, to that of either a cat or a wolf but she retains her eye color between all forms. She's gotten skilled enough with this power, that she can talk while in her animal forms. On the downside, she can be trapped in either form if she's trapped in a cage or container that wouldn't fit her human body since she's larger than her animal forms.
> Magical Flight: Using her magic energy, Esmée is able to manifest wings allowing her to fly. Simple yet effective, the longer she stays in the air, the more energy she expends. When her energy is spent, she has to rest before trying again. If she does try before adequate rest, she'll get lightheaded and woozy.
> Potion Creation: Esmée creates potions of various uses, which she crafts in the form of candies. Any abilities granted by the potions last between 5-10 posts depending on that potions potency. Stronger ones last shorter periods and vice versa for weaker ones. Only one potion can be consumed and used a day. She cannot and will not make love potions, potions that grant immortality, potions that can kill, potions that can cure terminal illnesses, or potions that reanimate/resurrect the dead

Personality: Esmée can come off as rather aloof and in her own little world at times. She holds quite a bit of hidden sadness in her heart from an event in her past, but she tries to keep in pushed down. It's best to leave the past in the past and look toward the future is something she tries to live by. With continued interactions others will find that initial disposition melt away to reveal the personality of a capricious, mischievous, free spirited young miss. Someone who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and is a hard worker. Playful and boisterous with a knack for making her presence known. A girl who doesn't exactly care much for authority, bending rules if not outright breaking them when they suit her. Esmée is someone who doesn't back down from a challenge or a fight being a very stubborn person. She will more often than not run headlong into situations without fully thinking or caring about the consequences. She has a sharp wit and a sarcastic, blunt way of speaking. Sugarcoating isn't exactly her forte. She also doesn't take too well to someone trying to push her around or make a fool of her. She can be a bit vengeful and might seek revenge against those she percieved as wronging her. Often she'll do things just to get a rise out of someone. Though never enough to be overly malicious or hurt a person. It's an especial pastime of hers to make people all types of flustered. Which lends to her flirtatious and overly affectionate nature when someone catches her eye. This also develops into her calling those close to her by cute pet names, such as 'sugar', 'sweetie', 'darling', among others. Deviousness aside, she is quite adept at carrying herself with the grace of a refined lady. She knows to walk with her head held high, but also how to be humble. Admittedly she grows bored easily and so has a habit of picking up random hobbies. Which more often than not, she'll drop. She can also be kind of a grouch before her cup, or more, of coffee in the morning. This also applies if she's hungry but she's easily placated with food or better anything chocolaty. Once you're friends with her, you've got someone extremely loyal. Someone who has your back and will protect you. Though that also means you'll have to watch your own back since she'll try to use someone as a guinea pig for her pranks and potions!
Bio: Hailing from an ancient clan of witches and wizards, on her mother's side, Esmée grew up surrounded by magic of all kinds. As a child she was absolutely enamored with the concept and execution. She wanted to be as strong as some of her relatives. She especially idolized and adored her big brother Oswald. Oz was considered a prodigy amongst their elders for his clever usage of magic. Though magic wasn't all she thought about, she was also very close to her father. He was actually very nervous about the.. odd side of his wife's family. So he tried to stay as far away from it, but was happy to be around it if it was his children or wife. Her dad was a very hard working restaurant owner, which she always found admirable. Meanwhile her mother was a healer. In her family, people usually start exhibiting their abilities around the time they turn 13. Some develop early, and some develop late. Basically like magical puberty. So when her 13th birthday had come and past, Esmée excitedly tried to use her powers. Sadly it seemed she was a late bloomer. Every attempt fizzled out terribly and left her in a depressed mood. Her friends and family tried to cheer her up saying her magic would make itself known in due time. So she went on with her life, going to school, hanging out with her friends, spending time with her family. She was perfectly happy with the normal parts of her life. She had many friends that didn't have any special abilities. A year had passed uneventfully, and she pushed her pessimistic thoughts to the back of her mind. That is until the day that changed everything.
She had taken up parkour a few months back, and was out practicing her climbs and jumps. She soon found herself up on a high building. Unfortunately she had miscalculated her jump and was sent falling off the building. There wasn't anything she could grab onto, so she plummeted to what she thought was her end. Panic rose in her, she didn't want to die! That thought running through her mind, she closed her eyes in fear. So she didn't notice a bright light surrounding her, but she did notice that her descent was slowing considerably. Eyes now open she noticed something out of her corner of her eyes. Looking back, she was shocked to find bright glowing wings protruding from her back. Her magic.. it was saving her! Focusing, she managed to slow down enough to safely land on the ground. Heart pounding out of her chest, she made her way home excited to explain the experience to her family. When she got home and finished telling her story, her mom and brother were happy for her. Oz even offered to be her teacher, which she happily agreed to. So between school and her social life, she spent time with her brother and at times with other family members practicing to hone her magic. As well as find the aspects that she flourished in. A couple years of training had shaped her into a capable witch. Her brother had left home to make a life for himself, and soon it was time for her to do the same. She had graduated from high school and decided to give college a try. However about a semester and a half in, she found that college just wasn't for her. Which led her to drop out.
She left school and decide to just wander. Having saved up a considerable nest egg from multiple part time jobs, she was able to survive for a while. On her travels, she picked up a couple companions. While many parted ways with her, there was one who was a constant. A spirit medium named Velvet. They grew quite close in their time together, so close that they eventually started a romantic relationship. Velvet was level headed enough to keep Esmée grounded. After a year of being girlfriends, they made the decision to settle down and so found a small home in a relatively peaceful town. The two lived a simple life and were quite happy. This normal content life sadly wasn't going to last much longer. Velvet had been contacted for a big exorcism job and had to leave home for a while. She promised Esmée that she'd be back as soon as possible. But that promise would be broken over 2 months later. A man showed up at their home with terrible news. Velvet in the process of purifying the spirit had been possessed by it causing the medium to attack her partners. A long tough battle then ensued which ended in a few casualties, one of them being Velvet herself. She was gone.. if they hadn't killed her the ghost would have completely corrupted her soul and taken over her body permanently. With her last breaths, she gave the man a necklace. Which he gave to Esmée. The news shattered Esmée, the woman she had loved was gone forever.
She was left grieving and rarely left the house for a couple months after. At one point, she contemplated getting a memory wipe. There was a process to do such a thing. She could erase the memories of Velvet completely, to forget her pain. But she knew she couldn't go through with it, as much as it hurt she didn't want to forget the happy times. She didn't want to keep despairing over the death of her lover, she knew she needed to move on. So deciding to get a fresh start, she packed up her belongings and left her home behind. She ran far far away, from her home and her memories. She would stay short stints at family and acquaintances homes. That is until she was referred by one of her uncles of a city named Soleil. A friend of his had lived there in the past and she spoke highly of it. Deciding it could be nice to get a fresh start, she packed up and was off to her new life. Now she's moved into her new home and is actually a bit excited to see what the future holds for her. She knows Velvet would want her to move on, and that's exactly what she'll do.
