The feeling of Tamiya's claw on his shoulder nearly made Leeroi seize up. Why was she- was this... some kind of weird praise? It felt equally cold and affectionate. Leeroi made a face.

"Yeah! Uh," Leeroi drawled out, moving quicker down the hall. There just had to be something interesting around here. There- another door!

"How about this?" Leeroi turned back to his crew. "Might be something in here!"

Leeroi looked over the door. It only looked locked. Nothing stood out to him as a trap. It just looked like a regular door. But who was he to know? Then again, he didn't really care to get a second opinion. He cracked his knuckles. "Looks like I'm breaking down another one..." He said, softly laughing. "Let's see how sturdy it is..."

Tamiya laced her fingers together, nodding her head slowly. "Yes... Break it down, Furore. Harness your destruction!"

Her hand had found its way into a tight fist. Whatever was on the opposite side of the door was just screaming to be destroyed and/or activated or however one detonates and/or navigates a derelict spaceship. It was only a matter of time.

"You ******** got it, lady!" Leeroi yelled cheerfully. Harness his destruction... That sounded cool as hell. He loved it.

He raised his space boot to kick down the door again, busting it down in only a couple of kicks. He looked back at his team with glee, pumping a fist in the air.

This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.
The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*
If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.

"Woohoo!" Psykgi cheered as Leeroi busted open the next door. Though, her cheer was somewhat cut short by... oh gog more gerbils? With... was that hardened skin armor?!

She kicked away one that was coming towards her and, for a moment, glanced at Leeroi. A grin spread across her face. "Lets go!" she cheered, "Lets go, lets go...!

Psykgi laughed.

That wasn't a problem - they could take them. They could take all of them! They were awesome!

Trinkets:
1/1 Agility Style B: Attack twice with 4d6. Add +1 to both accuracy rolls.
1/1 Support Style B: Roll 1d4, on a 1, 2, or 3, ally regains a quarter their max hp. On a 4, ally recovers entirely.

Of course it was more gerbils. Sinter couldn't tell if the lack of fire was an improvement on the situation or not. The armor almost made it seem like the little guys were trying to thwart their efforts. It made Sinter feel a little less bad about the whole affair. Not that he hadn't become wholly desensitized to gerbilcide at this point.

"Same song and dance, everyone." Sinter charged on in past the defunct zap drone, taking a long sweep of his sword through the gerbils as he went.

Sinter does 5 damage!

"That is it!" Tamiya cheered. She took on her own weapon and went to work. Odd how these particular specimens were armored - did the pre-Reginian army use them as infantry? It was all very confusing, but Tamiya couldn't think too hard about it. They were in the way of their success.

She brought her arm down hard on a line of three of the creatures, feeling their tiny armor buckle. Vicious or not, they were tiny and weak!

Leeroi thought he was over killing these zombie gerbils, only to be confronted by more of them. "What did they even do on this ship?" He yelled. They had only seen three troll daywalkers. Did the zombie gerbils eat the zombie daywalkers?

He was thinking way too hard about this. With a grimace, they cocked back their shotgun and fired a blast at the gerbils.

Maybe they kept gerbils as pets?! Was that even a thing pre-Regina? Of course, Psykgi had no idea. None at all - she'd emerged after the city had been kind of wrecked, and then the battle of Old hemisect had happened, and Civisect had risen from the ashes...

But she could have sworn that gerbils were a little more recent?

EITHER WAY.

She hacked away at them, feeling invigorated by an eerie sort of bloodlust, something primal. Yes - this was the true nature of trollkind. She'd seen it again and again. Deny the violence, and the mind cracks.

So she didn't deny it - she fought.

"I think this ship makes an honest case for gerbil shock troops in future invasions," Sinter commented, hacking away at the swaths of zombie gerbils. Then again, with the state of the trollian crew, there were perhaps some inherent risks to employing this strategy. Trollkind perhaps wasn't ready for this kind of power.

Tamiya does 7 damage!

The purpleblood was a wave of destruction, finally finding her groove. Sweeps after sweeps of childhood and adolescent pain due to... Various undeaths, flames and fury... They were fading away now. All of this was for her glory. Her breath was filled with the stagnant pull of the gerbils, but she was fresh for the fight. "I could go for nights, gerbils! You grublets, fodder of trollkind. How pathetic. I was hoping the old Alternian army would have something more impressive for us to vanquish! Ha!"

She spotted a number of gerbils get into formation to attack, right as an armful of the vicious creatures jumped screaming at her arms. She stumbled a bit, looking to her left and right to see which of her soldiers was available. "Furore! The cannon, now!"

Leeroi swung the butt of his gun at his feet, side-swiping some gerbils that were nibbling at his ankles. There weren't much more of them left, now. This was getting to be manageable!

Then, the lieutenant called his name. He whipped his head around to face the problem. She had been overcome by the little creatures. "Hold on!" Leeroi yelled, readying his arm.

Leeroi fired off the cannon, and as soon as he felt the knockback, he immediately wished he had given Tamiya more warning. He couldn't even see his line of fire, the bright blue light blinding him to his surroundings. He could only hope he was still aiming for the right thing.

The blast concluded, and all that was left of the gerbils was dust. "Lieutenant?" Leeroi called out, almost sheepishly.

Leeroi is using Adept Artifact, Offense B.
Leeroi dealt 11 damage.
