Glancing up from a Glowing flat panel with a bunch of strange runic squares in front of it near an odd device that looked like a large metal tub with a domed cover, a woman in a long white coat and raven colored hair piled high in a black bun blinked for a couple seconds at those who have entered before registering what she was looking at, "OH! You must be the trainers the Professor sent my way!" How this... Human? Was speaking Common was unknown. Perhaps she was just an unusually tall shaved Raccoon, or some sort of unknown familiar species. Maybe a tailless Monkey -- While they haven't been encountered, there has to to be monkeys familiars in the Jungle, right? Humans don't speak Common after all.
Stepping away from the computer she smiled, clicking a pen open as she grabbed her notepad, "as the professor likely told you, I'm Doctor Jean Splycer, Pokemon Geneticist! I was originally going to be a professor myself, but sadly my surname isn't based on a Tree." She laughed, covering her mouth with her notepad, "And with a name like mine, what better job for a scientist with a fascination with the "Man Made", alien, and Revived fossil pokemon and studying the DNA connections between Us and our allies, and how pokemon breeding actually works." Putting a hand on her hip, Jean snorted, "I mean, really, how DOES a Skitty and a Warlord have kids that are 100% the mothers species? You would think hybriding would occur at some point!"
She cleared her throat with a nervous chuckle, "Anyway, the whole point of you coming here is.. You're trainers filling up your pokedexes, which mean's that you have a wide variety of DNA samples for me to work with. I create what is called Pokefusions from these samples to study the effects. Really, I'm just trying to see how you can take two pokemon and end up with only one of them, but so far all my results have been hybrids. Not really useful, but some people like them as companions, and some of the rescued man-made breeds we protect here in my lab enjoy the company of their fellow hybrids in a place where they are accepted as true pokemon."
Writing a few things down in her clip-pad, she then hands some Q-tips in plastic containers out to the trainers, "Please get me about Four samples each from your team, and I'll make a couple of fusions from it to see what we can get. Just rub this against the insides of their mouths -- don't worry, they're made safe for even slugmas -- And bring it back to me!"
You blink in confusion at the strange woman and her magic items as you take the things, not really sure what she was talking about. Perhaps those strange creatures you'd seen wandering around? Well, Time to get swiping.
