This sweep’s Starlight Talent Agency is both swanky and comfortable – a generally stylish place to be. Its glossy black and grey veneer may soak up the warmth of the moonlight, but ample fans and air conditioners keep the booth running cool to entice trolls to wander in the heat of the festivities. The focus of the booth is primarily to promote Schrad: The Musical, with large production images and photo and film of the star-studded cast set up glamorously on the many screens inside of the booth and set up as life-sized cut outs for photo opportunities. A section of the booth is, of course, dedicated to the Starlight Talent Agency, with ample informational pamphlets and business cards for the small company run by booth owner Aandes LaMode. Exclusive Bloodfest Cygnet merch, styled after the star of the musical and celebrity starlet Odette Cygnet, can be purchased at the booth, as well as merchandise from the production itself.

BOOTH GAME: Karaoke!

To the left of the musical festivities there is a karaoke stage with a number of comfortable looking chairs (and free water for trolls looking to beat the heat)! It’s a fun platform with free judging by a panel of “professional” judges – ranging from Aandes himself, to cast member Opimus Fellah, to the great Odette Cygnet herself. Sascha, the well-dressed bodyguard of the booth, also pitches in. It’s a quaint but sturdy stage with a brand new machine. Above this, a tempting banner pitching the booth reads: Got What it Takes Join the Biggest On-Stage Event in Alternian History? Tonight Could Be Your Breakout Moment!

OOC GAME RULES
How to Play
Choose a performance style and roll 1d10. Your total points are determined by the result from the dice table below, as affected by the performance style you chose. Entries must include a minimum 100 words of RP to count for tickets.

At the end of each day, a raffle will be held to determine ticket distribution. The number of points won by a troll will determine their number of chances in the raffle. For users with multiple characters, the first troll you play with that day will be the one whose score goes towards the nightly ticket raffle.

In the judging chair tonight is the proprietor of the Starlight Agency booth, the illustrious Aandes LaMode. He’s easy to read when he wants you to read him, but now he looks professionally aloof where he sits. Aandes has a few files, pens, and a thick clipboard at his disposal for taking notes and doing busywork while tuning our poor performances. He may be all business, but if you can get his attention you might win big!

Quote:
Performance Styles

Folksy -- You forego the karaoke machine's instrumentals and sing the old fashioned way. If you didn't get any points from the judge, +2 points. If you did, +0 points.
Theatrical -- You give 'em the ole razzle-dazzle. Multiply the points you receive from the judge by 2 if you receive 3 or more points.
Familiar -- You sing and old classic you know backwards and forwards. If you get points from the judge, add +1 point.
Arte Poppe -- You pull out all the stops and give "putting your own spin on it," a whole new meaning. If you roll a 10, +5 points.

Dice Results

1.
(+0) When you look up, Aandes has his fingers in his spongeclots. "Mm." He states, casting his gaze away. Ouch, that stings.

2.
(+0) Aandes has his arms crossed across his chest throughout your entire performance. "Thank you," he states, and waves you off so the next troll in line can take their turn.

3.
(+0) The troll is leaning on his steepled fingers. "Hmmm.... Darling, please don't quit your dayjob," he pleads.

4.
(+0) Aandes gets up after you finish and goes to refill his soda without addressing you. Maybe he... Liked it?

5.
(+0) "Too rehearsed, and yet unrefined. It's got that very special quality of being totally unmoving in every way," Aandes muses. He shakes his head and gives you a vague wobble of the hand.

6.
(+3) "There we go. See, I think if we styled you a bit better next time you'd get more of a following!" the judge notes. He taps the table and makes a note as though he's keeping track of your looks for next time.

7.
(+3) Aandes looks up from the clipboard he's doodling on and gives you a gentle applause. "Next!" He calls, but not before giving you a half-smile and flitting wave.

8.
(+4) You swear that Aandes winks at you.

9.
(+5) After your performance, Aandes gives you a full round of applause. "Feel free to come back any time - the crowds love you!"

10.
(+5) The producer hops up from his chair after you finish and hands you a business card. "Great work up there... You looking to audition for something?" His smile is blinding.

Caiden Banksy
Folksy
2 Points Total

Caiden remembered the redblood star, he remembered talking to her when he was just a kid! The orangeblood jumped up and down excitedly. There were merchandise with her name on it, as well as- A dance contest?! Caiden let out a shrill squeal of joy. He could dance! He even liked to dance! The brownblood skipped on up to the dance floor, still dripping wet paint from his own booth. The brownblood was having to run back to his own booth every 5 minutes or so, so players could throw balloons at him and Amonee. Caiden loved it, he was having such a blast with the jadeblood. Some trolls had pretty bad aim, so often enough, Caiden would throw a balloon at the jadeblood while he wasn't looking. It did get some patrons kinda unhappy, as they were often enough in the splash zone, getting a lei from Amonee in the process.

Calida Opalus
Theatrical style

Initially Calida had only come to look at Aandes. She'd noticed his unforgetable hair as she was wandering the booths and so wanted to talk to him about his particular style and possibly who his stylist was. But she'd feel awkward just standing there gawking, so she decided to join in on the booth, she was sure she had little to no musical talent, but she would give it a try anyway. Calida took in a deep breath and began singing.

At first she was nervous and mildly distracted, but as she got into the music and recognized the lyrics her performance became stronger. She couldn't just leave it at that, feeling confident she decided to put movement into her song, dancing as she sang and really making the stage her own. Though she wanted to stay completely true to the song.

Once she was done and out of breath, she swore she saw something like a wink from the proprietor. With that boost of confidence she stepped off the stage and looked to make sure there was no one else in line. But what would she even say. Suddenly really flustered she brought the cool metal of her arms to her face. She'd just buy some merchandise and be on her way. Maybe she'd have another chance to talk to Mr.LaMode

Kwelin Tourny
Theaterical Style

Kwelin had mistaken the booth for a question and answer session with some of Alternia's celebrities. Once given the mic, he adjusted his glasses and opened his mouth to ask about Aandes's rise as a successful business troll before he was rudely interrupted by a burst of music. What the hell was going on?

"H-hold it!" Was all the confused and humiliated blueblood could manage to shout out before dropping the mic and running. Normally he didn't care what other trolls thought but somehow it was worse to flub up in front of the beautiful Odette and Aandes. He was going to get a drink to soothe his nerves.

Kaldru Dajale
Theatrical, 0 points

Kaldru knew very little of celebrities and performances; indeed, spending most of his time outdoors and wandering around meant he had little in the way of entertainment knowledge at all! But the important thing was that the booth he passed was bright and interesting, not that he could barely warble on key. Though he found himself dismissed with disinterest, the young blueblood actually had fun in the attempt, despite failure. Perhaps he would brush up and try again the next day... A new judge meant he could come back, right?

Eostre loved the booth last sweep, and she enjoyed it again this bloodfest. There looked to be much of the same Odette merch, plus some new things promoting her upcoming musical for Schrad. She picked up some merch again, unable to resist the glamorous redblood products and their glittering appearance.

But... she still wanted to try out the karaoke. She opted for a theatrical style, and sang something fun and flirty. She knew Aandes, and was glad to see him doing so well. She shrugged at the comment. She was doing just fine in her day job, after all, working for the Queen was the highest honor there was.

Froggy Friend
Arte Poppe

"Froggy Friend" clambered into the spotlight. Sonnie, shaking under the fierce gaze of Aandes LaMode, attempted to shake off the nerves with a fun little bounce. He selected something silly, a song with only two words. He held the microphone in his two hands, posed with determination as he waited for his song to play.

The music started up. He sang his whole part and paused, watching for a reaction. Then, he broke out into a complex dance routine, full of spins, jumps, and even a death drop? Who knew this tiny frog had such showmanship buried in him, rooted in the pure instinct to be funny? Sonnie sure didn't know he had it until now.

Aandes' reaction made him ecstatic. He took the business card and acted humble, batting at Aandes with an 'oh, you' gesture and holding his hand to his cheek. The greenblood had to admit to himself that he had more fun than he anticipated, but he certainly wasn't ready for a stage bigger than his little swamp puppet show.

Psykgi Mentha

Psykgi wasn't supposed to think it, but it was actually super inspiring to have a redblooded celebrity. Especially one as famous and spectacular as Odette Cygnet. She was proof that one could achieve greatness, in spite of one's caste, and be drop dead gorgeous to boot.

Psykgi had no dreams of the stage, but what the hey, why not? It was there, she could join, and she might as well. Because one never truly knew where the path to status and respectability would lie.

Still, music was not her strong suite and she didn't actually listen to much. So, she went with what she knew - something from a long time ago that she'd learned by heart.

It was a schoolfeeding song, but who cared? She was singing for Aandes LaMode. Who was not impressed and quickly waved her off the stage. But that didn't matter. She'd had fun.

She stopped by the merchandise, lingering a little bit to see it all. Surrounded by red colored merchandise advertising a redblooded star, she was filled with the feeling that anything was possible, if you pushed hard enough.

She smirked as she purchased some of the items for herself - she'd push harder... and she'd be back.

With her hair tossed around her shoulder, Elidae nervously ran her fingers through it and twisted the ends. The Starlight booth caught her eye easily- it was one of the most dazzling and popular of booths and Elidae wanted to participate. To any onlookers, the nervous behavior might have been assumed to be just nerves for the judging. Close, but not quite.

When it came to be her turn, Elidae took the mic and put on her best performance smile. "Okay!" And with her best attempt, Elidae did a show she thought would be acceptable. Something she rehearsed beforehand. Aandes' musings did little to her self esteem, but she tried to wrap her head around it. Was it too much?

"Okay! I'll... do better next time!" The yellowblood then gave a polite smile and bounced off the stage.

Odette was plastered all over the place here. Wander was in awe, but also super intimidated. But a part of her wanted something like this someday. How, she had no idea, which intimated her further. She was a step away from backing out, nerves getting to her, but Abby slipped from her shoulders and ran off to the merch table.

With a squeak, Wander went after her lusus.

Abby sat there, opening lipsticks, and just looked pleased with herself when Wander stopped to scold her.

Well, you're here now, aren't ya?

Wander frowned, hands on her hips. Her lusus had a point, though. "J-just make sure to put those back..."

After making sure there was no harm done, Wander picked out everything she could. A perfume, a headshot, lipstick, tee shirt...even an eye patch and switch blade. There went most of her beetles for the day, but maybe Odette would be pleased with her.

She was ready to go, ready to escape before anyone could pull her into karaoke, but she noticed someone. By now, she was getting used to catching fellow rebels at Bloodfest. But even so, it was a huge shock to see Sonnie up there, performing. And it was super endearing! Cute, but different, and even though he was shaky, it was easy to forget that fact.

Afterwards, Wander came up to him with her bag in one hand. She had to pretend she didn't recognize him, but it was hard. "H-hello! I-I-I saw your performance. It was very nice..."

Keionx Rutace Xionek Heronn

Keionx had no intention of bringing unwanted attention to Odette and her allies. Keionx was happy to show herself off, but not in this way, and the idea of getting on the stage and... she didn't even manage to finish that thought.

Instead she stood back and looked at the booth, smiling warmly at the thought that her friend, role model, and savior was doing so well for herself. She had such a huge following. She deserved it all. Heroes always did.

She held back as the little green swampling (whatever his name was, she didn't know) performed his adorable and impressive performance on stage. He had spectacular moves... maybe, she could pull him aside for training if she remembered when they were back in the swamp. Such agility screamed to be trained, after all.

But for now, she left him alone. She had some beetles to spend. And she spent all of them. Every last scuttly bug of them on every single example of Odette themed merchandise. She owed it to her friend... but she also had some ideas. All items had sentimental value but, far from the hoarde of trophies she'd kept in her youth, Keionx knew that the best items also had use.

She could find a use for these.

As she walked away, she bowed, low and theatrically, and then - with a swish of cloth, walked away, feeling very warm inside.

Sonnie giggled under his mask, holding his hands to his cheeks as if he was hiding his blush. Wander was too kind. He knew she would be nice, she always liked his shows.

He started to dance in place, reaching for her hands to see if she wanted to dance along with him. The greenblood was full of silly energy now, thanks to the costume and his lucky performance. Dancing with a friend seemed like the best way to get all that energy out.

"Ah!" Sonnie was dancing, and was pulling her in, too. No one was watching, probably, with all the stage singing going on. And Sonnie was happy. Wander let her guard down to join in. The positive energy was wonderful, and she even let herself laugh a little. This was fun!

      Ⅱ Autumn Vikare

Style: Theatrical

Autumn was shell-shocked. Failure she could handle—she prided herself on her ability to learn and adapt—but never before had she been treated with such disdain and indifference. And to experience it for something she cared so deeply about...! Since Autumn had learned of Odette's role outside the swamp, her admiration for her had only grown. Often times she fancied herself to be a bit like the redblood. They were, she told herself, cut from the same cloth. She had even entertained thoughts of one day rising to a similar position.

All that came crashing down around her.

Her performance was not just inadequate... it was terrible. The sight of the greenblood with his fingers over his spongeclots had been more than enough to close Autumn's mouth. The following words were just salt in the wound. Tears beaded at the corners of yellowblood's eyes. She fought hard to keep her face impassive, swallowing the sobs that threatened to surface. All her confidence had been ripped away in one fell swoop.

No.

Autumn bit her lip fiercely. Her eyes lit with determination though tears still clung to her lashes. She was better than this. She was better than her performance. And one day she would be better than Odette or her manager. But she had to work for it. She could not give up simply because one person told her she should not even bother trying.

Wiping her tears, Autumn thanked the greenblood for his time, turned, and left without another word. After all he would hear plenty more from her later. By the end of the week she would earn his applause.
