The poor Kitsune had been caught in a daze, after being scolded by the professor on his answer his mind seemed to have secluded back into the depths. His tail softly thumping against the floor, his hand moving to pull up the red scarf around his neck to rest over his nose instead. He had taken the opportunity to try and participate in a class, and yet no amount of courage allowed for him to stick it out. Slowly Haze moved to an empty seat at the very back of the class, listening to other students ramble on about their knowledge or ask the Professor a question.
“S-stupid k-know it alls…” he mumbled very softly under his breath, as if it was just hung on the air.
White fox-like ears rotated around to the front as the haunting bell rung once more, his curiosity still there even if it bubbled with malice. His eyes only half-focused on the slide that appeared. ‘Lost in the human world’… the thought hadn’t even crossed his mind that he would ever be lost in such a place. He had never seen humans as something to be weary of, but he barely knew anything at all about them, nor attempted to learn more. Haze’s mind went into a daze again as the teacher went on, having almost dozed off in the short amount of time. It wasn’t until the teacher pepped up again about a quiz did his eyes dilate back. He looked down at his desk and then to the others to see students with coloring books. The curse of being late pressuring down on him. Stuffing his face closer against his scarf he got up and walked towards the professor.
“I n-need a coloring b-book” he said with a falter in his voice. Looking blankly at the woman until she handed him one. If he did receive one he would scuttle back to his desk. Almost tearing through the pages he stopped on the last. The list of questions daunting but still manageable. The kitsune was never good with tests or quizzes, probably due to his short attention span at times. But he should have received a gold star for at least attempting it right?
As he proceeded to read over the first question it soon came to light that he would still ultimately fail. ‘What part of the body do Humans use to think with?’ he hadn’t caught that part of the lecture. Haze would have to rely on his expertise guessing skills now. Biting down on his scarf he began to answer to the best of his abilities.
1) They listen to the voices in their head… right? That’s how he certainly thought after all, he didn’t know if there was anything but voices to follow.
2) Haze selected (A), the professor clearly didn’t know how to properly understand Human Children, especially with the way she scolded him for wanting to chase them! He knew better than she did
3) The choice of yes or no… it always was indecision. He couldn’t make up his mind, one part of him said it was a great idea to talk to them, while on the other hand he felt as if he should just keep to himself. With his mind spinning he bit down harder on his scarf and circled both.
4) Sir Puffintop seemed like a funny name, and Haze enjoyed it.
5) His eyes had thankfully fixated on something of use when the professor went through the last slide. He quickly wrote down the letters he remembered, S.O.S.
