[･･･] Severin would eventually hear the tittering of slightly angry voices, lasting only a few moments before a sterner, calmer one quieter them. Low tones remained as they steadily grew closer, but all Severin would be able to hear was the unmistakable intonation of a 'thank you' before the door opened. Inka entered Severin'a room with no hesitation, though his gold eyes tracked over the Genin's body as he took a slow glide to close the door. "Perhaps it is all the disasters that have befallen this village," Inka spoke, calm and calculating. "That has granted me a generation of Genin that believe themselves above direction and boundaries. First one claims to know better than my own doctor. Now one claims what counts as necessary treatment given." Inka's tone remains unmoving while he pulls over a chair and situates it next to the younger male's bedside before taking a seat. He nudges an elbow up on the arm rest, looks Severin dead in the eye, and asks; "Talk to me."

Severin didn't hear much of what Kumotake said, as the male had already began to doze off. No response would come from him as the spider-tamer left, and with a few moments of silence he began to sink deeper and deeper in to unconsciousness. He wasn't sure how long he sat there, mostly unconscious, but when he was suddenly made aware of Inka's presence by the older male speaking, he jolted awake, his exhaustion heavy eyes only opening to slits as he tried his best to listen to Inka. Of course he would be here about what he said to the nurse,he was a gennin, he would be more surprised if he hadn't heard anything. But he was not in the mood to argue, his body ached, he was exhausted. Severin looked somehow paler than normal, his usually sharp blue eyes had lost their edge, and certain finer parts of his hair had begun to stick to his neck and the sides of his face. All of the irritation from the venom had faded from him at this point, and all that was left in his expression was a bottomless well of exhaustion.
Letting out a soft sigh-- not an "Oh my god" sigh, but an "I'm about to pass out" sigh --before removing his hand from the side of his head to pinch the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes tightly. "I have nothing to say," he started, his voice still rough, like rocks scraping up against eachother, "I was irritated and in the wrong. I won't do so again." He didn't want to state his side of things, every time he tried to do so recently it only ended in arguments, and he was done with arguments. He wasn't necessarily lying either, he realized he was in the wrong after the last of the effects of the venom wore off. The Raigyo male released his grip on the bridge of his nose and relaxed his eyes while still keeping them closed, dropping his hand. Somehow, the antivenom was making him feel worse. He realized it was doing it's job, but part of him wondered if it's anti-aphrodisiac like qualities weren't adversely reacting with his bloodline.

Severin let out an exasperated noise, a huffing sort of snort. Did they really give him no details about the situation other than he had complained about how they treated Kumotake, or was he just feigning ignorance to get a rile out of him? Irritation began rising in his throat again, not from the venom this time but just his general exhaustion and un-wellness. "Kumotake bit me. I went to apologize for my actions, startled him awake, and he bit me. The venom had several effects at first exposure, one of them being irritation and bodily discomfort which I experienced first hand." His eyes darted back to Inka, and stayed locked with his golden hues. They would not bend under the weight of those gorgeous orbs, not this time. "Why are you here, Lord Mizukage. You could have easily asked for me to stop by your office after I recovered." He stopped for a second, realizing how aggressive his words sounded, letting out a soft sigh and setting his face in his hands. "No that's not... " He let out a groan, moving his hands aside to rub at his temples. "That's not right... please excuse me, I'm myself right now. Pain and exhaustion do a great deal to change a person." He once again dropped his hands to his lap, like he no longer held the strength to hold them up.

[･･･] Inka blinked, slow and steady, listening to every word Severin spoke. When their gazes met, the Godaime did not look away, but nor did he appear dismissive or disinterested. His attention was on the Genin, and his body posture remained relaxed. "Pain changes many things." Inka agreed, voice low. "Our reactions, our way of thinking. What we value. Our perceptions." The former Shakuton clan member shifted, sinking a little deeper into the seat as he got comfy. "And I'm able to be here because I learned the Shadow clone technique so I can better take care of Kiri. For me," And here the gold eyes did flicker to the side briefly. "This technique is painful. Genjutsu is painful. Anything that touches my mind... reminds me of many moments I would rather forget." Inka kept his gaze on Severin's eyes, so the Raigyo could see the sincerity of the words, the brief flicker of red as a deeper instinct pumped through his veins in a short-lived burst. "I am an angry individual." Inka admitted. "Because I'm terrified. Pain has made me terrified of many things." He pauses, weighing the words on his tongue before speaking. "You're all old enough to be sent out to die for this village, and the horrors that just keep swamping us... I fear it's made you all think you're impervious. Having a sixteen year old act as if they know better for me than my own doctor. Or another telling me to fight him as if to kill him, not realising the amount of distrust that could seed the village. A seventeen year old treating me like a brother while I hand her a mission that could kill her." A pause and a small quirk of one lip into a smirk. "You're all a bunch of trouble makers, really. Which is why - which is why I'm terrified for you all. Call it irrational. My doc says so. The brunette does, anyway. The other one just likes to stare me down. So," Inka tilts his head to the side. "So I apologise for earlier. I understand what you were trying to do. I say all this not to justify my actions, but in hopes I haven't broken your faith in me."

Sev listened to Inka silently in til the Mizukage was finished speaking. He then leaned back, looking up at the ceiling for a moment before taking in a very deep breath and putting some serious thought in to what he was about to say, ”It’s not irrational. You worry because you care. I feel that way too, especially about Kagerou. She might be my superior in the medical field but she’s still so young, and niave, and puts herself in to really dangerous situations without thinking because certain things come to her so naturally she doesn’t stop to think. She’s a very smart dumb kid, in a way.” Severin smiled softly, thinking back to his and Inka’s conversation in the office, about his attempting to test the kage to see what kind of man he was. Maybe he had a better view of the picture now, a few more pages to the book. He looked back sideways at Inka, seeming a bit more relaxed now.
”Please don’t think that I’m mad or irritated at you, Lord Mizukage. You’re too handsome a man for me to be angry at.” Severin said the words with a slight smirk before looking down at his hands, as if he’d find his next string of words on a cue card there. ”I think I’m more angry at myself. My whole life I’ve been an outsider, even inside my own clan. I had everything and anything I wanted when I was a kid, thanks to my bloodline and my parents and it... gave me a sense of privilege I shouldn't have had. I’m so used to people being forced to enjoy my company, or pretending to, that it’s caught me repeatedly off guard when things happen differently than what I expect them to. I find it so hard to connect to people, to make something real there. Most people I’ve met don’t have that problem, those kinds of bonds just come naturally to them, I guess because they’re normal and I’m just.. not.”
Severin didn’t realize that his jaw had clenched tightly at the end of that speech, or that his eyebrows had furrowed together. He cleared his throat, beginning to fiddle with his fingers anxiously.”Kirigakure is this wonderful, beautiful ball of weird. Many weird people who would be cast out in any other place find their homes here. People don’t usually have to be afraid of what they are, because everyone has come to expect weird and strange things to happen here. But even somehow, in my wonderful and strange and weird home, I find myself too off for most people here. It infuriates me... how can it not?”
Severin realized he got off track, and forced himself back on the hypothetical rails, looking back at Inka who he had been previously avoiding eye contact with. ”I forgive you, even though there’s nothing to forgive. In fact I’d like to repeat again how sorry I am. I don’t think about my bloodline, and how strange and foreign and invasive it might feel to others. I’ve lived amogst the Raigyo clan for so long it’s just become like breathing for me... Half the time I don’t realize it in till I’m halfway through a technique. Please understand that I wouldn’t do that to you unless I absolutely thought it was necessary.”

[･･･] Inka hummed and tilted his head slightly, as if in agreeance or affirmation. "You're all smart, dumb kids to me." He spoke softly. "Emphasis on the kids." A twitch of a gentle smirk touched Inka's lips, and it remained there for a small moment before it it was washed away by a stunned expression and a small exhale of rough air. Handsome?! Well that was just... not expected. Inka quietly cleared his throat and ran a hand through his hair, pushing it back from his face. "Yes, well," Inka quickly attached himself to the next topic of conversation. "You and a few others seem to have that in common. I was the same. Self-ostricised. Then just ostricised. Haven't thrown it off - not entirely. Just because this village seems to be filled with the odd, doesn't mean it's all sunshine and rainbows either. You know the history here. It's made many of us... sensitive. Hesitant. Bad enough there is a larger enemy out there threating all of the Hidden Villages, but for Kiri to have been abandoned by its allies..." He sighs and sinks lower, head now resting against the back of the chair, arms limp. "Trust is hard-earned. Just don't lose hope. Because they'll just see it as them being right all along - that you weren't serious about being what you said you were. It's a hard fight. But Kiri loyalty is the strongest thing I know. We don't break it."

The Raigyo male just smiled, dreaming of a day when he might gain that sort of loyalty. A world where he was accepted, for who he was, and what he was. A small warm smile crept across his features as the white haired gennin stared at the ground, like he could see there the bonds he might someday have. His mouth opened as he was about to say something else, only to hear the scream of wood that he heard every night in his nightmares. Severin's whole body went rigid, with the intensity and suddenness of someone being hooked up to a car battery, before he slowly turned to look out the window beside him. Once again, the Sero tree was alive, and he was horrified. Clear on his face was all of the nearly paralyzing fear he felt, his eyes wide like a cornered animal. "Oh ******** oh ******** oh ******** oh ********> Sev mumbled, stumbling out of his chair before sprinting outside; partially because he wanted to help, partially because he wanted to get away from the village.
Once he stepped outside, he made the mistake of looking up. He saw thousands of brilliant flowers come to life in the entrapping branches of the Sero, and if he wasn't so scared of what they might hold, he would even think they were beautiful. The flowers grew pods of some sort, and Sev watched in horror as they began to fall-- one falling straight towards him. A sudden jump back put him out of harms way as the pod hit the ground, and the man covered his face to protect himself from... nothing. No dirt or rocks came kicking up from the impact, and Severin stood there stunned for a few moments before the pod began to crack open. On edge, he watched and waited, remembering the plant zombies from the last attack... his mother, the villagers, everyone he knew.... But nothing prepared him for Inka to step out of the carcass of the pod.
The way Inka looked at him at first broke his heart, and before he even spoke he knew why. It was because he looked like the twin to one of the previous Mizukage, Sypher. He didn't know much about Sypher's and Inka's relationship, but he knew it was serious and that they were very close. The Raigyo reached out and took a step forward to comfort Inka as he began to speak, without even realizing he was moving. It was only when Inka said that he was playing with him did he stop, and his reaction was not unlike someone getting kicked very hard square in the chest. His whole body went rigid once more, his eyes wide, sucking in a sharp breath. "Young Punk", "Cheap Imitation", and saying he would never fall for him were like several more consecutive hits to the chest, and though he tried to battle them away, tears welled in to his eyes. Inka had to know he didn't mean to cause him any pain, right? He had to know he couldn't help how he looked, or his mannerisms, or-- His voice cracked as he tried to respond, his mouth opening once but no words came out.
The second try was more successful, "It's not like that Ink- L-Lord Mizukage... It's not..." Somewhat regaining his posture and control over his facial features, the Raigyo swallowed hard to try and push away the lump that had risen in his throat. "I-I'm not... It's true I find you very attractive, but I'm not trying to replace anyone. Definitely not someone who held so much importance to you... I've never known a bond that deep.. I might never know it." Even as he spoke his greatest fear, his voice cracked again. His heart was pounding in his throat replacing the lump that was once there, was it true Inka really believed he was playing with him? Is that why he had been so violent and withdrawn at the office and the arena?

[･･･] Blood and honey run down his cheeks, soften the jawline, and meet at his chin - they mix, turn amber, drip and drizzle lazily down a tanned neck and trickle lazy patterns upon the ground. His feet scrape back, but the seeping juices of the pod soften the noise to a wet squelch. His body moves as if reeling, repulsed, repelled, by some force unseen. "Attractive?" He speaks, voice thick and low. "Attractive? I'm not... I am notattractive. I am a monster." He presses forward, but doesn't step any closer. "That he cared for me at all is beyond me. That he trusted me with his son - that I got a son at all..." The eye-sockets filled with the gellatinous-like colours appeared locked on you, still seeping, unblinking. "I was unworthy then. And I am unworthy now. Don't waste your energy on me." The voice once filled with anger is now only touched by loneliness. "Go find your bond - if a murderer like me can, you will have many, many years of them. You should." Shoulders sag, but the pod-born Inka does not look away. "You should know what that bond feels like... but not with a monster."

Swallowing hard and hesitating for a moment because of the uncertainty of the creatures actions, Severin made his approach to this copy of Inka; and it would let him, carefully take the shorter male's face in his hands to make him look up at him. If he did not, his hands would drop back to his sides. "Inka Hizara, you are not a monster." The taller man's eyes held a calm intensity, tears beginning to fade. "I don't know if any of these words will reach the real you, but you are not a monster. I have seen, been surrounded, and nearly killed by monsters, as I imagine you have too. Monsters do not care for anyone, certainly not their inferiors like you care for your gennin... or your son... or Sypher... Or any of the countless people you've cared for. Monsters do not show regret for their actions, monsters are not halted by their conscious. You are a man, you are a human, you are just as wonderfully imperfect as anyone else in this village but that does not make you a monster... you hear me?" Severin's lips had become a flattened line, pulled tight by his own intensity. "I do not know your whole story yet, I have not even scraped the surface of your book, but you do not hold the chapters of a monster, so please do not label yourself as such. [･･･] Depite the physical touch, he remains unresponsive, the gellatinous bubbles in the eye sockets unrevealing if attention was anyway influenced out of him. But the forceful words were like an unseen blow to the chest; concaving the bone with a gut-spoiling crunch of old wood filled with maggots - a snapping, crackling, squirting, crunch. A shudder racked him from toe to head, spilling more congealing gunk out of the skull and over your already stained hands. It feels like thick syrup and dissolved flesh, all at once, and it clings to you, stains your palms and leaves a coloured ribbon down the back of your hands, between your fingers. "Do you..." And the leaking globs surge out more fluid in a small pulse of rippling emotions. "See me?" Another shudder and its shins splinter open, cracking like a wet strike of lightning. By now the material of his black robe clings inwards on the broken chest cavity, heavy and wet.
"Quickly," It says - but the voice is different, as though coming from a fog previously, Inka speaks clearly now. "Let me," And its arms finally move. Reaching up, the hands lay themselves on his chest, grip deep, wet bark breaking. "Keep protecting you?" The knees buckle - legs fracturing further and becoming roots digging deep into the stone. "Even from myself." Crumbling down and inward like a tree felled from the inside by termites, his hips hit the ground as the robes spill down and melt, the black taking an oil-like quality as a prism of colours refracted off its melted surface. "Quickly." With the fabric having melted away, it revealed the sight of the tanned skin - and a smashed-in breast bone. A small, sad smile, and the fingers push aside the dissolving flesh to grip the sternum with a squelch. Prying apart the brittle bone revealed it to be more akin to paper mache - and a strange sight within. A heart that seemed to slow with every pulse, veined and tinted green, was held aloft a strange, metal object, its sheen and hue lost while in the depth of the moist, slime-dripping cavern.
Without any further aid, his body continues to split open, revealing how the innards more resemble a dissected stem; from the colour to the lack of most neccesary organs - or perhaps they had already been repurposed as the robe has been, now amber and blooming as petals florishing from the central pad of the melting upper torso. The heart has near stopped by the time the ribs fold open on their own. They splinter, replicate, and become fillaments, reaching skyward and holding aloft the pollen-releasing nub of the amber flower - by which point the chest cavity, and all the contents within, is gone, abosorbed into the base anchoring the petals to a central point.
What was once appearing human is now a glowing lotus nestled neatly down on the stonework - sheens of honey and blood refract over the silk petals - like forever dusk and dawn incarnate. You find it to be a gentle lightsource, with its thick, green roots travelling over the stone to dip deep into the chakra-rich waters of the village lake.

The Raigyo male flinched hard as Inka began being pummeled by some unseen force, before the male mumbled some words and literally began melting between his fingers. Severin stumbled back, his heart stopping cold in his chest, as the clone or imitation or whatever it was decomposed away in till nothing but a flower was left rooted in to the pavement. Severin began to gasp for breath, gripping at his chest, flashes of images flying by in the back of his mind. His mother, the sero, the monsters, the roots, her screaming, her hand slowly being overtaken by bark, her eyes turning feral... Severin buckled forward, a hand flying to his mouth, forcing back the nausea that seemed to appear from no where. He wouldn't throw up, he wouldn't give in to this panic, he wouldn't he wouldn't... Tears welled in his eyes despite his stubbornness, despite his willing them to go away. The edges of his vision began to get fuzzy, then dark. The panic was taking over again, just like all those nights in the hospital, all the night terrors all the-
The sudden silence of screams pulled him from his panic attack and Sev's head suddenly snapped up to look around him. Anyone that hadn't been as lucky-- and he was using the term very lightly --as him to get a pod was now trapped in one themselves, and the overwhelming worry for his fellow villagers suddenly made him able to move again. Like gears creaking at first, Sev slowly made his way to where the imitator Inka use to look at the grotesque flower like thing for a moment in silent horror. What came next was not easy, and every instinct within the male screamed at him to stop. With a slight hesitation, Severin crouched, and then reached in to what would be the chest cavity of the Inka Imitation before its decomposition. Severin had prepared himself for situations like this, when he would inevitably be forced to do some sort of highly invasive chest surgery, but this was not what he imagined. The feeling wrenched another gag from him, causing him to once again cover his mouth to force back the bile rising in his throat. He felt his fingers touch metal, and he quickly pulled his hand out now holding the piece of emblem in his palm.
Severin fell backwards, dry heaving to one side as he tried to contain his composure enough to do something, to do anything to help his fellow villagers. Once he was sure he wasn't going to actually throw up, he looked up once more at the flower that stood there silently, horrendously disgusting yet somehow still gorgeous. Drying off his hand and pocketing the broken piece of metal, Severin shakily stood before making his way to the closest pod. Stopping before the vegetal prison, the young male could only imagine the horrendous fate for those trapped within. Would they become more imitations of Inka? Would they become like the plant zombies that infested Kirigakure during the last sero incident? Sev swallowed hard, shifting one foot back before channeling chakra and aiming a Lung Collapse right where the sections of the pod met, hoping to crack it open.

This technique can not effect any other organs in the body except for the lung as the amount of pure chakra needed to disrupt the body's more massive [ bigger ] organs is far too great for most shinobi at this level to conjure into a visible form at anyone time without exhausting themselves. Guild Description: See official description. Initially, the aura can only extend out 1 foot from the hand. Retraining to the max of +5 allows for an aura that can extend out to 32 feet. Each rank retrained increases the aura's reach by 6 feet.

Still frightened beyond what she knew what to do with, the girl spritined from Sero straight towards the floating hospital. As fast as her feet would carry her, she dashed across the surface of the water like only a mist ninja could. She was panting, and her arms flailed a bit as she pushed her already pounding heart past what she thought her limits were. The adrenaline high drew from her more than she knew she could give. The patter of her feet against the water's surface was replaced by the sounds of her tabi against the foundation outside the hospital. There she saw... what was she seeing? Inka was here... turning into a pod? Her heart sank and the sight drew upon primal senses, wretching free a scream towards Sev and the Inka clone. "What is happening to Inka-san? How did he get here? He was just inside the great tree..." she gasped out.
The effect on the mark for Sev was a long drawn out hiss, and the male stumbled back and grabbed his arm like the pressure would stop the pain somehow. Sev narrowed his eyes at the spores and watched as they were gathered back up by the pod before the vessel resealed itself. Sev's features were taut and serious-- trying to save the villagers right now was too risky. So perhaps the smartest course of action would be to make his way to the Sero and attempt to hit the source of the entrapment. He turned to make his way to the tree that laid in the center of the village, but was stopped by a fairly muscular girl sprinting to his general location only to see the remains of the imposter-Inka. Severin released his arm, letting out a soft breath and reaching up to tie his hair back. "No, that wasn't Inka, just something with his face and maybe even his thoughts. I believe the real Inka is stuck somewhere inside the Sero, perhaps the office."
Once his hair was pulled back from his face, the gennin moved over to the Akamechi and stood in front of her, crystal blue eyes filled with seriousness like spotlights. "You said you saw Inka as well? Perhaps each one of the people who have touched his life somehow were also visited by these pods... Hm. Would you like to come with me to the Sero?" Severin offered a small smile, even though he wasn't feeling it. "Perhaps we can find our answers there. I fear Inka might be in trouble."
