Hey, everyone! You know what time of year it is, don't you? It's about time that everyone goes into holiday hibernation and later awakes from a three-month long fugue state slash candy/poultry/alcohol bender, wondering where on Earth their lives have taken them. Well, if your life has taken you to the world of ALICE Online, then that's a good thing, because to celebrate the holidays, we're running a two month long special event!
From now until we ring in the New Year, everyone is participating in the festivities! Play the game as normal and you will be awarded special holiday tokens that reflect your choices as a player!
Gathering skills will net yous. Combat will earn you and partying up with other players, using miscellaneous skills or using crafting skills will award you s! All of these items are currencies, can be traded freely between players, and can be used at special vendors located in a brand new tent just outside the Gloomwood Encampment!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The tent is a massive structure, dwarfing all else in the Encampment. It is fifty feet tall and just as wide, made of fabric striped red, orange, and white. Inside are satyrs, fairies, small elves, and even imps busily milling about, talking, laughing and otherwise enjoying themselves. Huge barrels of alcohol are lined against one side of the tent, and tables are spread throughout the entirety. There are three figures that stand out from the rest:
The Witch, a youthful, energetic girl dressed in a purple dress with striped stockings, pointed boots and an oversized, pointed hat bounces on her toes and waves at you as you approach, beaming a brilliant smile. "Why hello there! I'm very happy to meet you! I don't think I've ever seen you when I've visited before. Well, I'll tell you what I'm here for. I just absolutely love candy. If you could get me some candy, I would be willing to trade it for any of the goods I've brought from home. I bet I have something you'll like."
The Harvest Director, a satyr, is a massive humanoid, with black goat's legs and gray fur that grows up his sides and back. Two large horns protrude from his head, and a pointed goatee hangs braided from his chin. If you approach him, he greets you with a voice that is deep and gravelly. "Hello, Adventurer! Tell me, do you know why we are gathered here? It is the harvest time, and my workers and I are here to see that it the harvest is done well! We do our best to gather enough food for the cold season, so that we can rest and enjoy that time off. Perhaps you would like to join in the Harvest this year? We uses as currency here. You can find them scattered about, if you're looking hard enough. Bring them to me and I'll be happy to trade with you."
The Tinkerer is a tall, wiry man working away at a machine, primarily composed of a glass or crystal globe three feet in diameter, on legs that keep it stable. The globe is currently empty, though it has a heavy metal lid that is clamped tight to the top, suggesting that it can be filled. The man is wearing a red outfit, trimmed in white fur. He seems startled when you approach, but smiles and claps. "Hello! Hello! Hello! You must be wondering what I'm working on! Well, let me tell you! This is a Generator. What does it Generate, you ask? Why, it Generates Joy! It's a Joy Generator! Well, not joy, per se, I suppose, but that's the idea. You see, I come from a place where everyone is always hap-hap-happy, and I think this place could use a little hap-hap-happiness, don't you? Well, how, how, how can we cheer these people up, you ask? Well, there's a secret. It's in the snow! Now, it doesn't snow here, obviously, but it always snows in my homeland. I think that if we were able to bring the snow here, we could bring smiles to everyone who is lost in these woods! What do you say? Will you help help help me? It's simple. All you have to do is keep an eye out for Crystallized Joy. You might recognize it as a snowflake that never melts. I'm going to need a lot of them. They are created whenever you feel joy! Like the joy of pursuing your hobbies, creating something new, or of going on an adventure with your friends! It couldn't be easier! Please, help help help me collect the Snowflakes, and we can finally use my machine! I'll be hap-hap-happy to reward you for your troubles, with gifts from my homeland!"
