[PRP] Two of a kind. [Tavi x Helki]

The year two demon had no qualms about monsters, nor the fact that the big brother program he signed up for paired him with one. To Tavi the boil was just another year one that needed some advice and showing around. An adventure really, one he could use to after the hole San had put him in by disappearing. Tavi stared out into nothing as he waited to meet this Helki boil for the first time, teal eyes going a little lifeless as he thought of his ex.

What had happened?

Where did it go wrong?

Why...

Why?

The kitsune's ear flickered from time to time warming in the sunshine as he waited and got lost deeper to thought.

It was about time that Amityville did something about his absenteeism and less than satisfactory grades. Helki figured when he received the letter that informed him about the academy's decision to pair him up with a mentor, a Year Two monster, in the hope that such an arrangement would help to get him settled in better. Fearing that he would run into Zaire and Jory, he had been skipping classes, holing himself up in his room and only leaving it when he needed to stock up on necessities like food.

At this point, it wasn't so much of him not wanting to get on with his life. He just, for reasons unknown to even himself, couldn't. Perhaps some part of him still stubbornly hoped that Zaire would notice what had become of him and do something about it. He really should know better given how well he knew the mahamba. Zaire was way more stubborn than that and he wasn't ever coming back.

Now that things had come to this, it was increasingly apparent that he was running out of time. If he didn't pull up his socks soon, the next letter he received from the academy might very well be the one telling him to pack up and head home. He couldn't let that happen so even though he had a feeling that this mentorship arrangement wasn't going to work out, he decided to show up anyway.

"Are you... Tavi?" He asked tentatively, a small smile on his face as he lifted a hand to scratch the back of his head. Now that he thought of it, he couldn't even remember when was the last time he had a bath. Was it a fortnight ago? A month even?

"Are you... Tavi?"

As soon as sound hit ears they flickered, the demon turning back to glance over a shoulder and grin at the monster boil that came with greetings. Helki. "Hey!" Three bright, fluffy red tails whirred up to greet as well as the demon jumped down to take the other in an excited surprise hug. Though as soon as arms locked around they retreated as Tavi went backpedal on a yelp.

"OMG! YOU SMELL TERRIBLE!!" The kitsune flailed both hands and opened his mouth running in a circle get air, "EWWW MY MOUTH WAS OPEN!!!!!!!!!!" What had happened to this boil! Had he rolled around in the creepateria leftovers?!?

Whether or not Tavi might have noticed it at all, Helki flinched when he suddenly felt the kitsune's arms around him, the smile that he had worked so very hard on for the sake of this meeting replaced entirely by a look of pure horror as he backed away from Tavi. He wasn't expecting that at all. A conversation yes. Maybe a light touch on the shoulder even. But certainly not a hug that instantly reminded him of Zaire.

"S-Sorry. I didn't mean to..." He quivered at the suppressed past memories and longing that were all threatening to surface. He could do this. He needed to move on.

That particular notion died in him the moment he heard Tavi's remark about how horrible he smelled.

"I didn't think..." What was he even thinking? How could he have allowed himself to fall so low to the point of neglecting his own personal hygiene? And now he had really done it - blew away his one chance at trying to redeem himself in Amityville. He took a few more steps away from Tavi, tears glistening in his eyes now before he finally turned tail and ran.

The look of pure horror, the backing away and now tears. Tavi had paused, watching the other boil with a curiosity that only grew as he turned tail and ran. s**t. What kind of a mentor was he, he had just made his pupil cry! Another flail of hands and the kitsune gave chase yelling at the top of his lungs as he raced across campus towards the other, "Helki! Helki waiiiiit!! I promise I won't call you smelly anymore! LOOK WE CAN GIVE YOU A BATH!! JUST COME BACK!" Frowning fuzzy red ears lay back on his head and he kicked up the pace.

When he got within a good distance Tavi bent his knees and sprung at the other aiming to tackle him to the ground, it was the only way, at least to the hyperactive demon.

Tavi's words unfortunately fell on deaf ears for Helki didn't stop or so much as look back, the wolf boil currently absorbed entirely by the need to get back to the safety provided by the four walls of his room, lock himself in and curl up on himself in a corner to hide forever from the rest of the world. He could see the monster dorm from where he was now. Just a little more to go.

He felt something tackle him from behind, his breath knocked entirely out of him as he crashed face first onto the ground with Tavi on his back. He started hyperventilating then, the colour drained entirely from his face as he howled and clawed at the ground to try to get away from the demon. "Let me go..." He wriggled and struggled, trying everything that he could think of to try to get Tavi off. It didn't take long for him to abandon his attempts however, the monster boil reduced to a whimpering quivering mess as he tried to curl up on himself.

"I was wrong... I can't do this... please..."

Clinging around Helki the kitsune refused to detach. This was his pupil! He had to teach him really cool things or be a failure! Tavi was not a failure! Wide-eyed he pouted down to the monster under him as the other squirmed to get free until just giving up. Taking the surrender as a good sign Tavi slowly went to roll off of the other boil but grabbed a hold of his tail so he couldn't run. "Easy now...its ttly ok..I just wanna be a good mentor to you!" He said, whiny and jutting a lip. "...let's go to the lake!..We can swim and you can tell me whats up!" Because even a boil like Tavi could see that something was happening.

Hamming it up for a yes, teal eyes went large and he pouted as cute as possible, "pretty please with sugar skulls on top?"

The wolf flinched and shrank back further onto himself at the physical contact, never before feeling so trapped in his entire life. Why wouldn't Tavi just let him be? This mentoring arrangement was obviously not going to work out so what more did he want from him now? He felt the weight that was the kitsune demon ease from his back, readied himself to make his escape as soon as he had an opening. That notion quickly perished however when he felt the other boil's hand wrapping around his tail.

Slowly Helki got up, ambers focusing on Tavi and the pout on his face as he heard him out and contemplated over his intent and proposal to go swim in the lake. He didn't have a choice in this. Obviously Tavi wasn't going to let him go till he agreed to something. It was probably way easier to go along with the kitsune than continue to fight with him on this.

"... okie." He finally conceded with a nod and a resigned look on his face.

Those big amber eyes sure were something, Tavi instantly thought of teaching Helki how to pout. Like him! It always won and that was proven again when the wolf boil gave in to his demand and agreed to go to the lake. A small little smirk passed cross the redheads lips and in an instantly a hand shot out to snatch one of Helki's. "Good! C'mon!" He shouted loudly, there was no need for more clothing, mostly since the way Helki smelled it was clear the garments he was in could use a wash too. Maybe Tavi would push him into the lake as is, a deviously look passed the kitsune's features as he raced away with Helki by the hand towards the gates of Amity.

There was a little lake outside of school and that's where they were heading, but to be polite he panted out while speed walking, mostly to keep Helki from trying to run again, "So Helki! Why'd ya come to amity? How long ya been here?" If the wolf boil stuck around long enough and actually let Tavi mentor him he would learn fast the other was a talker and not very good at keeping focused on a topic.

With Tavi tugging him along, Helki simply went along with it, silent as he looked at the kitsune with an impassive expression on his face. This was odd. Awkward. Would he be expected to strip in front of Tavi when they reached the lake? Of course he would have to. It wasn't like he had brought with him another set of clothes to change into after they were done. It was just that Helki had never shed his clothes in front of another individual other than Zaire, much lest in public.

But he left it at that for now, blinking at the other boil's questions as he shrugged, choosing not to answer the one about his reasons for coming to Amityville while he returned with a question of his own. "A year. Do... creeple get expelled from here because they've failed to meet the grade?" He really didn't want to get sent home. His family had been against his transfer to Amityville, even more so when they knew his reasons for pushing so hard for it. He wouldn't know how to face them if he went back the way he was at the moment without Zaire by his side or accomplishing anything at the academy.

Tavi blinked at the question, he, well he didn't know that. But the other boil seemed the type that could scare and maybe scare was the tactic he needed! So the kitsune lied through his teeth "yes. They ttly can so so sooo we have to get you studying up and I can help ya! I'm not so smart but I'm good at tryin!" Tavi added the last part with a slight drop of ears. He was average as far as intelligence went but more well versed in the way of the world, street smart so to speak.

Giggling he pulled the other along and after awhile a big sparking view of water came up. "There!! Cmon lazy bones!" Tavi beamed happily and moved to get behind and push Helki towards the water. "Let's not worry about school right now okey dokey? Let's just hang out~!"

Helki didn't doubt or second guess what he was told by the more senior kitsune boil. Tavi had presumably been around Amityville for a much longer time than him and would logically therefore be more familiar with the academy's rules and practices short of him approaching a professor or counsellor which was something that the wolf boil was actively trying to avoid at the moment. "... okie. Do Year 1 and Year 2 students share the same classes?"

He might have sounded a little hopeful when he asked that, ambers sneaking a furtive glance at the jovial kit who was currently trying to get him into the lake that they had finally arrived at. If they had common classes, at least he wouldn't have to worry too much about being alone or feeling horribly awkward should he run into Jory or Zaire or, Jack forbid, both boils. He stopped just a few steps short of reaching the water edge, using his tail to help maintain his balance as he dug his claws into the ground to try to prevent Tavi from getting him any closer to the lake.

"B-But... I don't have another set of clothes..." Came his rather whiny protest, his cheeks beginning to flush slightly as he turned to look at the other boil. "Which means that I'll have to... s-strip..."

Tavi thought about the question for a moment then offered, "sometimes? Yea! Everyone can attend some classes if ya see a flyer just go!" He really didn't know how to explain the open courses much better but if one popped up the kit made a note now to take him. It would be a good learning experience and likely give his new lackey more confidence! Both good things in the second years book.

The abrupt stop had Tavi whining back in protest then moving to circle around the other and give him a look. Teals going wide as he looked down over the other, this wasn't a problem why was he making this such a big deal? "Then strip." The words came bluntly before Tavi backed up and started to peel out of his own clothing down to his boxers, "like this see?" He teased hoping to rile the other up a bit.

"I'll try..."

Tavi was missing the point entirely here, both with regards to attending class and trying to get Helki to swim in the lake, though the kitsune boil couldn't be blamed either given Helki's less than forthcoming account of the issues that he faced. The wolf had to give the other boil some brownie points for trying so hard however which was what spurred him to avert his gaze and slowly remove his clothes until he too was stripped down to his boxers.

"What about this then..?"

He asked in a small voice as he waved a hand towards his own boxers so that the kit would know what he was referring to.

Tavi didn't know what was going on, but he wanted desperately to help. As the other stripped he flashed a toothy grin and a thumbs up. "Perfect! Let's go!" A shove to propel the other boil towards the water and he ran ahead. Jumping and curling feet up to hold knees. Tavi cannon-balled into the water on a howl of laughter.

Now was Helki's chance to run if he wanted.

Seconds later Tavi popped up from the water, sputtering and trying to shove wet hair from face. Beaming as he looked around the water for his new friend. Yes, they were friends already.
