I've been doing this Yaoi roleplay for about two months with this girl over Email (yes, we're both girls.) It's really explicit... xd Now, I play the Seme, but I've noticed that apart from in bed, her character seems to have total control over mine. For example, currently in the roleplay her character has decided they shall not have sex for the next week because my character was taunting him.
So this made me realise that their relationship is just like most straight relationships I've had; I control just about whatever happens outside of the bedroom, but the bedroom is his domain. This seems true for all of my friends as well.
But on the other hand, just about every other Yaoi fic I've written has the Uke being completely submissive and the Seme having total control. This made me wonder if I'm writing the fics wrong, or if it's different for everyone. What do you think?

I really think it would vary from person to person. I mean, some people may be ukes but they can be rather assertive, unless it's in the bedroom. Whereas, in the bedroom, it's total submission. For some seme, they can be more along the lines of an uke, unless it's in the bedroom. That's just my outlook on it.

Well, I thought of it more like this;
Uke represents the female, and Seme represents the male. In a lot of hedro relationships, the male is wrapped around the females finger until it comes to sex. Then the male is in control...
Is it even possible to be Uke and Seme? eek

I always just write yaoi as any other relationship, there's give and take, in the bedroom and out. I can't imagine someone wanting to bottom all the time, that would be painful! I like stories where they can switch, depending on their moods.

It depends on who is more assertive. The seme isn't always the assertive one just because he's on top. It depends on attitude and preferences.
I personally like to be dominated in bed but outside of bed is an even playing field. eek Actually, he might have a little more control over me since I have a bigger sex-drive and he can get me a little hot and bothered at inopertune times. sweatdrop But that doesn't mean I don't return the favor twisted

3nodding Well, that's the thing, Fire. For those of who who've heard of it, we're doing an Artemis Fowl rp. I play Butler and he plays Artemis (it's in the future, dont worry.) For those who dont know, my character Butler is this really strong guy who spent every second of his life until the age of 18, working out and learning Marsial Arts, etc. Maybe looks can be deceiving....
