As soon as the male had stepped into the establishment, his nose was quick to pick up the smell of food. Stomach grumbling as his mouth began to water, Natsume stepped behind the line of people as he waited his turn to order. Given enough time to look over the menu, he let his eyes scan over the different choices they offered. Honestly, he had enough on him where he could probably buy one of each item, but he wasn't that hungry. And it was a long walk back to his place.
So, he decided on something simple for now. It wasn't like this was going to be his only time stopping here, so, he had plenty of time in the future to come by and try a different menu item. With his order already in mind, he waited until the other customers placed in their orders before he was next to approach the counter. Smiling brightly at the teen behind the register, Natsume gave the boy his order.
After ordering and receiving a tray of food, the red head scanned the slightly empty fast food restaurant before making his way over to an empty booth. His eyes looked to the food he had ordered, before starting on his tenders. Having asked for a side of ranch, he happily enjoyed his meal in silence. From behind the counter, he could hear some of the employees chatting amongst themselves, and nearby, a woman was sitting with some young kids.
The young man hadn't really made any friends in Soleil, but maybe that was for the best? Making friends meant opening yourself to the possibility of them finding out more about you. How would the people of Soleil react, when they heard what happened to his family?
Hands shoved into his pockets, Talon was still half asleep as he stood in the line in front of the counter. He'd woken up.. about maybe 20 minutes before making his way here, and honestly he would have slept a little longer if the rumbling of his stomach didn't get him out of bed. There had been a few places he could have stopped at, or hell, he even could have dragged his lazy a** on over to Robin's and bummed food off of the neko. But, the thought of chicken nuggets - a lot - of chicken nuggets, was what had brought him over to Micky C's.
Plus, it was cheap to get as many as he wanted. Just, hopefully he'd be able to finish it all. The employee behind the counter looked as if she were ready to strangle the Griffin when he had placed his order. The drink was simple, just a plastic cup handed over so he could get it himself. The packet of cookies, again another easy one, as they could just scoop the few they had on display and shuffle them into a small paper bag. But, when he ordered two double bacon cheeseburgers and then ten of their eight count nuggets, well, then she was eyeing him questioningly.
He could only offer her a small smile and a shrug of his shoulders, before paying for all of the food he had ordered. What could he say? He was a growing adult and he hadn't eaten since the night before when he'd scrounged through the freezer back home until he found a frozen pizza. Besides, he was sure he could eat all of this food with no problem. If not, well, he could always bring a few things back for his sister if she was home. So, with receipt in hand, he went to go grab a drink while he waited for all of the food to be made.
Pulling his phone out carefully after he had gotten his drink, Talon eyed his messages. He wondered if his friend Robin would have been up by now, or if the neko was sleeping in today. Typing with one hand while he casually sipped on the straw for his drink, blue eyes lifted every now and then as he watched the other customers that came inside and the employees that went back and forth behind the counter as they either cooked, cleaned, or took orders.
Deciding he shouldn't loiter next to the drink station, he slowly and distractedly moved over until he flopped himself down into the nearest empty seat. Taking one more long suck from his drink, he slammed the cup down onto the table before he now immersed himself into the texts.

Trudging her way down the city streets, the tired woman let out a heavy yawn as she left her work, waving goodbye to a few coworkers. Geez, she hadn't worked an all nighter in a LONG time. She was still young, but being a mom meant that she almost barely had the energy for anything anymore. Who knew kids were hard work, huh? Speaking of kids, she probably should check with the baby sitter to see how her baby boy was doing. Pulling her cellphone out of her hand, Nico dialed her baby sitter's phone number. " Hey, good morning! How was he? ....Oh, good, I'm glad he behaved this time. I'm going to make a quick pit stop to get him something to eat, so you're free to leave since I'm not too far. I'll cashapp you the money. Thanks so much! " After hanging up, the woman tucked her phone back into her pocket and made her way into Mickey C's. She always felt bad on nights she had to work long, so the only way she knew to make up for it to Desi was chicken nuggets. They weren't dinosaur shaped this time, but that little boy would still eat them for sure.
The line didn't seem that long, which was lucky for her, but what would happen next would ruin her whole damn day. When it was her turn to order, she gave the clerk a small smile before ordering a medium caramel coffee and then the 10 count of chicken nuggets with barbecue sauce. " I'm sorry, ma'am. But we recently ran out of nuggets. We're sorry for the inconvenience. " Nico's smile instantly dropped into a despaired look. " No.... No nuggets? Not even enough for a 4 piece meal??? " The clerk sadly shook her head no. Since when did Mickey C's run out of nuggets?! Who the hell ate them all and what was she supposed to feed her boy now?! She couldn't go home without them. As she forced herself to smile again, Nico tried to regain her calm composure. " Oh well... maybe next time... " The raven haired woman responded while pulling money out of her purse only to slam it down on the counter. " Don't bother with the change... "
It would take a few minutes for the employee to get her coffee together, so in the mean time, Nico sat at a table nearby to sulk. If it was just for her, she wouldn't be so upset, but they were for her baby boy! She couldn't bare to see the disappointed look in his eyes when she came home nugget-less!

Patrick pleased and relieved his comment didn't openly comment about what he had revealed about his parents. He nods, "Yes, exactly. No matter how bad your life is going, someone else, fictional or non-fictional, their life is much worse than yours" he responded. He was glad the other agreed to a break and he was getting a little hungry as time was passing by. Delightfully surprised by the hand grab because getting to hold hands with his boyfriend in public is a big thing to him. Helped that the other made the first move because Patrick is shy and submissive when it came to physical intimacy than he is verbally. "Happily" he said smiling and happily heading to Mickey Cs with Saeki. Matched his pace with the other as they journeyed to their destination. Last time he was here at this fast food restaurant was with the young fraternal twins and Hiro was with him too and that day did lead to him creating kitten figurines for both his acquaintances and his business. "Do you want to eat inside or at one of the outside patio tables?" he asked after arriving at their destination. The line just empty out when he gets there then makes his order before or after his boyfriend. His order was fish pattie, fries, a chocolate chip cookie, lemonade combo then paid for it after hearing the order repeated so he knew he would get what he ordered and he was heard correctly.

The young man had blushed a bit as he took a hold of the other's hand. It was unusual for him too to be more physical than he was used to at home. But knowing this place was different from Japan and the burning desire to just even only make contact with his boyfriend did help him quite a bit to loosen up as some might say. He had already learned it was a lot less frowned upon in Soleil to walk like this together. Now Saeki felt alright to tangle his fingers gently with Patrick's and to walk with them to the restaurant hand in hand. While they did so, he made sure to not miss a word from what Patrick said but at the same time he was looking at the surroundings while stealing glances at his boyfriend's face and the young man smiled a bit, a slight blush seemingly to never leave his cheeks. To Saeki this felt really good and he started to wonder what his people had against it so much. When they made it to the destination, Saeki was distracted for a while as they walked inside the fast food restaurant.
For the healthy eater this was a really unknown step into the world of American food. The only experience he had so far were the burgers Patrick made some days back. He had enjoyed those a lot too though and he was sure he would like these too. Saeki looked back at his boyfriend when he heard their question and after a short thought he smiled. "Let's sit outside. It's beautiful weather." he picked. It was pretty hot of course, but it didn't bother the young swordsman much since he was used to some degree of warm weather. When they found the menu, Saeki looked at it and most food on it he had just heard about in words. This promised to be quite the experience. After some debating, the young man picked for fries, a cheeseburger and a Strawberry milkshake. Once he was given the price, Saeki opened his wallet and took out 2 $10 bills to pay for it. Once given the change he put it away and looked at the other. "Do we wait here for our orders or do we find a table?" he asked curiously to Patrick, as he didn't know what the routine was here.

A light blush went across Patrick's face when their fingers were intertwined. The texture of the other's hand was silky yet firm skin and he had worn his fingerless gloves as usual he wouldn't have gotten the chance to feel his boyfriend's hand this time around. He didn't have to look around and just looked forward because he has been around uptown and the part of town Mickey C's is in so many times at this point. He was thinking more about the jewelry based on what was decided on what they want which are silver chain, symbolism, necklace-rings combination. He would occasionally glance at his boyfriend's face seeing that cute slight blush that was matching to his own. Wasn't totally silent because he would talk about the shops he has been at in uptown and the shopping district. Patrick looked to the tables of the location his boyfriend picked to eat outside and a couple of them were available. One was recently cleaned while the other was currently being cleaned off. "We wait nearby on this side" he answered him. "Until our number is called then we can take our trays to the condiment section before going to a table. On a slow day we would have an option to wait at a table, but today isn't one of those times" he explained about fast food etiquette. He moved to the side to the pick-up area, "I was thinking our matching jewelry could be White lotus flower = purity, black cat = luck, and grey or pink dolphin = harmony and overall silver chain to hold all three rings and the symbols of them on there" he proposed the idea that incorporate a bit of them both in there.

When Patrick looked over at the tables outside, Saeki's gaze glanced towards the tables too. Of course he could see they were being cleaned but other than that he knew little else. Still he trusted on his boyfriend's judgement and looked forward to spending some time around this place together. A nod came from the young man when he was explained about the way things were done here. He understood it well the way Patrick told him. It sounded simple enough. Make your order, step aside to a waiting area and once done you could walk to a table. "So only when it is calm you can sit at a table like at a restaurant. It makes sense." he replied and smiled as he looked up at the other. There was quite a height difference between them in fact, but it didn't bother the young swordsman. There were plenty of ways to help out on that and they could both cooperate. As they moved to the pick up area and Patrick spoke about the jewelry, Saeki listened to his boyfriend and smiled happily. "That sounds perfect. You are very good at this." he praised the other. It was a perfect combination of them both and Saeki looked forward to them. Once their food was done and they had picked it up, the young man had a little trouble holding it straight at first but it was clear he was determined to not leave everything to Patrick and to keep pulling his own weight when he just readjusted his right hand, which allowed his injured wrist to be less pressed and he looked at his boyfriend with a smile ready to find their table together.

Patrick nods, "Yes" he confirmed. He was pleased his boyfriend understood his short explanation. Within five minutes one of their orders was filled and placed on a tray then the number was called. Other's orders were fully filled a moment later and onto a tray along with the next number card. The receipts were on the trays too that had their number on them also so there would be no confusion which tray belonged to who. "Heh, thanks. My creative skill does come in handy from time to time outside of work" he said smiling after being praised. Patrick picked his own tray and watched Saeki to see if he can handle it with one hand. After seeing the smile he presumed he was ready to move on. He stopped by the condiment area to get what he wanted before leading the way to a clean patio table outside of the fast food restaurant. "Once I sketch out a design for the ring necklace and give you the final say about the sketch we can hand it over to a jewelry craftsman at the shop" he laid out a plan as he sat down on one side of the table. Set down his tray then pokes in a straw into his lemonade drink then takes a couple of sips. "I will let you decide what you think is the best color for the dolphin between grey or pink" he mentioned to him. He was also giving him more involvement in the development process as much as possible. He opened a couple of napkins and laid them out on his own lap.

Once they had picked up their sauce and made it safely to their table, Saeki was nonetheless relieved. It wasn't easy to hold on to that tray with one hand. But he was pretty much to stubborn to ask for help at any rate. It was a miracle he hadn't tried to pick up his training yet. For someone like Saeki, who was raised with training since he was old enough to stand, this was unthinkable. Thankfully his boyfriend was a big distraction and a good one. The young swordsman would never get tired of seeing them and talking to them. He loved the time they could spend together and the new things they tried. "It sounds like a great plan. As for the color. Hmm" Saeki said as he tapped his chin thinking about it. Both colors were significant, though he eventually smiled and looked back to Patrick. "Perhaps keep it grey for a natural look to it. I think it will turn out amazing." he gave his opinion. The young man was about to take a bite from his cheeseburger when he saw what his boyfriend did with the napkins. Of course he had no experience with what a mess burgers could give when bought at a restaurant with so much sauce. But he was smart enough to follow their example. After that he put the straw in the milkshake and took a bite of the Cheeseburger curious how these would taste then.

"I suppose so. All neutral colors and it would be easier to come by in the crafting stage of materials. Good eye then, Saeki" Patrick commented. He felt a little flattered seeing the other doing the napkin thing too. "Tomorrow, how about we try out that acorn charm by making one for you?" he asked him. "We could collect the acorns in the park and Hiro will be there too" he added. He was attempting to make plans with his boyfriend and be something he can do in his current state. He was watching his boyfriend eat until he was forced to look away when he felt that he was basically staring from looking for a whole minute. He picked up his fish patty sandwich with one hand then took a bite out of it. The taste was what he would expect from a fast food restaurant including the quality of fries after dipping them in his small paper cup of ketchup with his other hand and eating them one by one. He put down the sandwich and took a long sip from his drink before speaking to his boyfriend. "I know this is possibly unorthodox to be asking you straight out, but what types of dates do you like most?" he asked him. "Like adventurous dates like the hiking trip in the jungle or the romantic type like the sleepover on the island beach or the simple one like visiting the aquarium" he listed examples of what they have done recently in the last several weeks. If he wants to plan a date after the amusement park he would like to know what reference to base it off of.

Saeki smiled and blushed slightly when Patrick told him he had a good eye. "Not as good as yours. I am just speaking from instinct, you have experience." he said and chuckled. Hearing his boyfriend's proposal he nodded and smiled happily. "That sounds like fun. Gathering the acorns and enjoying some time in the park together." he said. It was nice to hear Hiro would be part of the group too. The young swordsman felt slightly guilty for taking time away with Patrick from the kitten. After that they just ate for a while and Saeki enjoyed the food, though he could tell he shouldn't eat it to often if he wanted to keep his healthy lifestyle. But once in a while would be good. He was distracted from the thought when Patrick spoke again and Saeki looked at his boyfriend as he listened. It was a good question. "I like all of them, but if I would have to choose one it would be the adventurous type. The jungle was amazing." he said after thinking for a moment. "What about you?" he asked curious as to what Patrick's answer would be. He would love to find some dates for them as well that would be great for his boyfriend too. It was something they could both do and have even more fun together.

"Sometimes going with instinct presents the best results. With trial and error leaves less room to overthink things. Not to overcast experience, but I believe they go hand in hand" Patrick responded. "Good. We will meet you at the park and I'll make sure to bring along my craft kit too" he said and now their plans for now have been officially decided. He wasn't surprised to hear Saeki's response to the date question considering the turn out to yesterday's jungle date instead relieved. Also pleased it didn't seem to be marked as a bad experience for part of it considering the other's injury. "Adventurous type would be a part of my top three along with hanging out at home like unwinding in the living room to a horror movie marathon, and the romantic type like a fancy dinner every once in a while to spice things up. I guess I'm into a variety that we have experienced thus far and it would be interesting to have a multi-part date at some point in the future" he answered as thoroughly as possible. He kept his preference on what they have done together so far and not what he has done with his previous boyfriend. He resumed eating by going with the chocolate chip cookie next then back to his fish pattie afterwards. "Are you the sort of person who would be open to the idea of being married someday?" he asked him. He hopes he wasn't too unreasonable to be asking about it at such an early stage in their relationship. When he was done eating and finished most of his drink he took out of his journal to sketch out a design for the rings. "Do you want the rings to match your finger size? Or does it not matter?" he asked him. "We could follow through on the engraving or pass up on it this time around" he added bringing that up.

Saeki ate some more of his meal as he listened to his boyfriend while they spoke about their favorite dates. It sounded like they would enjoy several ways of going out and Saeki didn't mind either. Since Patrick asked about favorite he had only mentioned the jungle outing as that had been really fun, despite his injury. The young swordsman smiled and nodded when they finished. "They all sound like great options. Though I can't say I am very experienced in watching horror movies." he said and admitted chuckling a bit. It's not that he would be scared of them or anything. He just never tried sitting out a bunch of them in a row. And if he watched television it was often different things. That was not to say he wouldn't enjoy it. After all it would be nice to relax on the couch with his boyfriend. "Sounds like I may need to keep a whole day free sometime in the future then." Saeki said and winked at the other. He would look forward to that day too, it was sure to be a great day. When they asked about marriage though he blushed a bit though he was surprised. He didn't know better or it wasn't accepted yet. "Do they accept here even?" he asked as he spoke of his surprised thoughts. "I haven't really thought about it because I have no interest in women and where I come from we would definitely not be allowed to get married. Though I admit I have entertained the thought once or twice. Would be great if they accepted that around here." he said and then smiled to Patrick. Their relationship was still fresh but it was a nice thought. After that it went to the rings and Saeki thought a bit. "As long as they won't be lost easily it would be best. Even the most attentive could lose a ring. So perhaps some around the finger size." he gave his opinion as asked. It would be terrible if one of them would end up losing it after all because it had been a bit to loose.
