With the talk about the new Pendulum monsters and dueling format over the past few weeks and seeing we've gotten a few players in our mist in role play forums, I suddenly got the random urge to make a thread about it. XD
((Hey, it may be a Tokusatsu guild, but I'm still the captain. I can get away with stuff like that. xp ))
So what's your favorite archetype or strategy? What about your favorite character? Or do you have a killer decklist? It's time to come out of the closet and share it with world! ^0^

Personally I feel that I owe the game a lot. To make a long story short, it was thanks in part to the original anime that I first learned about the Japanese language and ultimately set me on the path I am now about teach English over there after studying abroad. So yeah, I still feel I owe it something. I dunno. sweatdrop
I will admit however that I hate the current TCG format. I was pretty pissed when they banned Stratos since as a college student, I was tired of them constantly banning or limiting cards for no apparent reason.
I also not very found of XYZ series or the new Pendulum summoning either as I think it's downright broken, but that's another story. I'm sure someone will say something though. lol >.<
Anyway, enough rantings. Discuss!! Now. mad

I like to make lockdown decks. lol I have made a spellcaster and a Hunter Owl, but I did not really got to put it all together to try it out. XD
I do not really like the new XYZ and Pendulum summoning either. However, I am willing to try out XYZ because, in character, one of my guildmates gave me a XYZ monster that would fit my in guild deck. XD

I have an Elemental Hero deck and an Exodia deck. In Vi's guild I also have a Heisei Era Primary Kamen Rider Deck.

Besides lacking the cards to do it and being locked down a few times myself in a duel, I found myself wanting to give the opponent a chance as I've gotten more experience. So I won't lockdown everything if I do. xd I'm not a big fan XYZ or Pendulum because to me it doesn't effect the overall build of the deck and for the latter it requires no skill what-so-ever in order to preform. With XYZ, a few of them are okay. I just liked Synchro's better. sweatdrop What about you?

Andras Van Malice I have an Elemental Hero deck and an Exodia deck. In Vi's guild I also have a Heisei Era Primary Kamen Rider Deck. A have a couple of real life decks, but the main one I tend to use is a modified, manga Elemental Hero deck that includes the masked heroes and Stardust Dragon Assault mode. Got another "random" deck that I made for nostalgia, though I think it's not half bad. Wish I could find someone to duel with it though. sweatdrop Also, You're really going to like when the final three masked heroes and their fusion are released. whee

I only bought the new structure deck from Japan that included the wind, dark and light M-Heroes along with their fusion the latest E-Hero from the manga so I go ahead and complete my deck before I left the states. My wallet hurts. sweatdrop You should check them out on the Yugioh Wiki though. It's worth a read. wink

The Synchros were cool. The XYZ, I think with them being Rank not Level made them kind of cheap

The XYZ, I think with them being Rank not Level made them kind of cheap I think that XYZ along with the new Pendulum monsters and Pendulum something breaks down the game and make's it easier for new and lazy players to join in. At least with Synchros, there were tuner monsters that had an impact on the deck and you had modify the levels of monsters just right to get monsters you wanted. It was honestly I welcome addition which didn't even affect the game play for more veteran players. With XYZs and Pendulums however, there really isn't any real strategy involved. XYZs can be any combination of monsters so long as their levels are the same while Pendulum, despite having a slight impact on the deck build, can special summon and swarm the field with as many monsters as possible. Hell, Pendulum monsters don't even go to the graveyard when they're destroyed and instead go to the top of the Extra deck, which means they can be special summoned again. If they could be more easily destroyed or if there was at least a limit on the monsters that could be summoned (per turn) with Pendulum summoning then I I wouldn't have nearly as much a problem with it.

The game seems to just get more and more broken. I half blame them trying to constantly one up themselves in terms of crazy new mechanics, but also blame it trying to aim for kids more. GX will always be the best era of YuGiOh to me personally, but Syncho summoning and the stuff 5Ds brought wasn't bad. I'm not as into the series as I used to be and I skipped Zexal so I don't know a great deal about XYZ summoning, but it seems pretty meh. Not really enjoying Arc-V and Pendulum Did-You-Just-Summon-A-Bunch-Of-Monsters-In-One-Turn Summoning, but at least the anime hasn't turned me away from it in the first few eps. Though I probably will still drop Arc-V at some point. Main character is pretty annoying.

I haven't watched the show since a few episodes into Zexal, but I figured with at least Pendulum monsters and summoning, if you made monsters more vulnerable to same cards and effects that would affect monsters or spell cards, or at the very least put a limit on the number of summoning, then it would be more acceptable. XYZ I really don't know. I just thought it was ripoff of Sychcros for some reason. You'd think they'd work it so the two could be downright demonic when played together. lol That's why Synchro's will thus always be superior even if their continued summoning will bring about the end of the word one day. xd Speaking of which, what's your favorite show? ^^
