gaia_crown [ Setting and Rules: ]

The palace itself is in the heart of extremely, extremely high thick vegetation that needs to be navigated through. This is where the Dungeon Master comes to play. The Dungeon Master will create a new thread. Now, they will roll stats for this expedition team:
- Roll 2 20-sided dice for each player. List the players ie: 1. Player 1, 2: player 2, etc. Just roll all the dice at once. This is the number of rounds they can take for each player. Also include your own character. Post this stat at the very first post ie: Player 1 has 5 stamina, player 2 has 10 etc.
- Now players can begin to RP. They start at the outskirts of the forest and move inwards. Each ACTION they take is 1 stamina point. Once they have used up all allotted stamina points they can go no further/ have to leave the area.
- If their HP turns to 0 they cannot go any further as well.
- If a character runs out of stamina or HP, they must try again from Round 1!

gaia_crown [ Round 1: ] Before you can enter the labyrinths, you must first defeat the guard animal that patrols the perimeters.

- All players must roll a 6 sided dice. This initial roll does not cost stamina!
- If any player rolls a 1 or 6, you have triggered a boss! If two players roll a 1 or 6, you now have two bosses... congratulations.
- The boss has 55 HP, and does 5 auto damage every time it is attacked. You can attack it unlimited times within discretion. All normal battle mechanics apply.
- The DM is in charge of keeping track of the boss's HP.
The boss is a monstrous wolf, a remnant of some cold, old north. It howls, and the winds increase with every mournful wail.
- No one can go any further until the boss is defeated. IF NO ONE rolls a 1 or 6, or if you have defeated the boss, you may proceed to round 2.

Marcy stepped out of the portal and into the greenest scene she'd ever seen in her entire, short, ghostie-unlife. So green, so big, so WONDERFUL. She had little concept of what overgrown meant, so to her this vast array of vegetation in full bloom and health could only mean great things.

"Oooohh! Look at this!" She went bouncing up to a nearby tree, all covered in vines and flowers. "It's amazing. Mia! Miss Mia!" She turned back to the portal, yelling. "You should come see this!" She was pointing at a pale purple flower.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!"
With a sigh, Mia stepped through the portal, staring at what stood before her.
What... the jack...

She was pretty sure she saw the temple from outside, but all she could see now was vegetation. Extremely outgrown vegetation as if no one had bothered tending the greenery for years if not decades, or centuries, and had happened across a bag of instagrowth, or something. She could barely make anything out from all this, and sighed. The trek was going to be long and arduous, wasn't it?

Still, good things come in small packages, and even Marcy's extreme enthusiasm about the smallest things was starting to rub off on her.
Walking over to where she was she knelt, looking at what the ghoul was pointing at.
"It is rather pretty, isn't it?"

gaia_crown [ Round 2: ] All players must now navigate the garden labyrinth. The once neat hedges have grown wild vines, covered in thorns. They were roses, once.

- Roll 1d100 to progress. You need to continue rolling until you roll 75 or higher!
Roll 75-100: Congratulations, you've made it through the winding pathways of the hedge maze.
Roll 1-74: You still need to keep on searching the area, full of traps and dead ends. There are roses with teeth, pits of quick sand, and at least one literal nest of vipers.
- For ever time you do find the end of the maze (each reroll), you must subtract one of your given stamina points.
- If you hit 0, you cannot go any further/ you dissipate/ pass out/ are worn out.
- If you made it past this round, you can proceed to round 3:

"It is! So very pretty," Marcy said, smiling at Mia then the flower. She wished she had a teacup that color, just that shade of purple. Or at least one with little purple flowers on it. She stared at it for another several minutes (or maybe just moments) before blinking. "Oh! Right!"

Marcy practically jumped to her feet, which were still bare. Not that it hindered her in any way. "I also saw that!" She pointed with much enthusiasm at hold in the wall of greenery. It may well have once been an archway. An entrance. "Do you think we need to go that way? I think we do! Come on!" She was waving at Mia to join her, and then she was bounding off into the the maze. She didn't know it was a maze. It looked very much like a lovely garden path to her at this point.

Shades of purple were always pretty to Mia, so she might have been a little biased, but she nodded, marveling the beauty of the little flower a bit longer.
It was only when Marcy spoke out that she remembered what they had come here to do.

Right, find the museum.
Dusting herself off, Mia straightened, turned and... wished she was back at Amityville.
They had to get through that?
She stared forlornly at the vines, or more the thorns that adorned the vines, and let out a great sigh. This was going to end up in another ruined outfit, wasn't it?

And of course, Marcy was already running off with reckless abandon.
Well... might as well get this over with.

A dead end later, teethy roses, and VIPERS, Mia was already REALLY tempted to just head back. Right now.

Reckless abandon indeed.

When she wasn't busy being distracted by all the pretty roses. "Mia! Look! These are the prettiest red!" A quick glance around her let her know that Mia was no where to be seen.

Hm. Maybe Marcy should go looking-- Oh! These roses were an even darker red! And... they looked a bit vicious.

Marcy wasn't sure how she felt about that.

Well, at least one of them seemed to be having fun. And she would have appreciated the flowers more if they didn't keep trying to bite her.
Seriously, this place was starting to get on her nerves.

At some point, she finally found the end of the maze, and let out a huge sigh of relief. Thank JACK she didn't have to go through that again.
Now all she had to do was wait for Marcy.

Marcy WAS enjoying herself. She hardly noticed the way the roses tried to n** at her. She was too busy staring at everything.

Like those snakes. Those were snakes, right? She didn't think she'd ever seen snakes before.

OH! Well. How rude. Had that snake just tried to bite her?

Marcy might have cried a little. Just a little as she ran away from that awful creature.

"He was very grumpy," Marcy informed a rose that seemed to want to be friends with her. She didn't get too close, for it's teeth seemed sharp, but it was still nice. "I had done nothing at all to him!"

With a humph she turned and continued down the path, leaving the creature behind.

She found two dead ends, and some overly friend starved roses. If her dress had been more solid, it might have been torn. Silly things.

She found another dead end, and frowned.

Pretty as this garden was, it was not what she'd come to see. Even with it all of it's gorgeous and friendly flowers, and it's towering vines and layers and layers of deep green moss. So pretty, but not what she'd wanted.

She was shaking her head as she rounded a corner, and came face to face with another snake.

Marcy ran away screaming.

She rounded two, then three corners, and nearly plowed into Mia as she exited the maze.

She was still screaming. The snake had looked very grumpy.

gaia_crown [ Round 3: ] The moat is a sheer, fifty foot drop, and must be navigated with care. The draw bridge to enter the Halls of Trickery have long since rotted away. You have but one option: enter the monster-infested moat.

Out of the corner of your eye, you think you spy a grin hanging in the air.

- All players must roll 1d10. Each roll consumes 1 stamina. If any player rolls a 4 this is instant death and forces characters to restart form the beginning of round 1. Otherwise match your rolls to the results:
1: -25% of remaining HP. Rose petals crunch beneath your feet, and a spider camouflaged in them bites your ankle.
2: Nothing happens
3: INSTANT DEATH for just you. You need to portal out and restart form Round 1!
4: INSTANT DEATH for the entire party. Your group needs to portal out and restart form Round 1!
5: Nothing happens
6: Nothing happens
7: - 50% of your remaining HP. A crocodile has bitten you, and attempts to drag you under.
8: Nothing happens
9: -50% of your remaining HP. A crazed shadow creature swarms you from a nearby shadow.
10: Nothing happens

- The 50% deducts from your current, remaining HP, Not max! If you have 40 HP and roll it twice, it cuts to 20 HP, then 10 HP!
- All players need to roll 3 times to make it to the next round EACH
- If you are portaled out you must start again from Round 1!

WELL. At least it seemed like she didn't have to go searching for the ghoul as Marcy collided into her, sending the two of them toppling over. Thankfully, Marcy was pretty light, so it hadn't hurt TOO much, but still. Her poor clothes.

"I take it you had fun?"
Mia sighed, and dusted herself off. Her response was a little sarcastic, but she did feel bad for the ghoul, and patted her on the head.
"Ok, no more running off. Stick close to me, alright?"

Though she had hoped they'd gotten the worst of it over, it seemed there was still more.
Mia grimaced at the moat before them, and the fact that the single drawbridge was out of commission. Did they... really have to walk through this moat? While her dislike for water probably wasn't as bad as someone like Andrew, she still hated getting wet, especially if it meant ruinin her clothes. But still, they had come all this way, and she refused to go back empty-handed.

And so, taking her shoes off to avoid getting them dirty, she shuddered, hiked her dress up, and started her trek through the moat.
Not even two steps in, a huge alligator ate both the girls. Maybe she shouldn't have told Marcy to follow so close.

"Oh, yes!" Marcy said, beaming as she got up off the ground (and Mia). "I- Okay!" She smiled up at the older ghoul. She'd been about to tell her all the neat things she'd seen, but the head pat and new orders distracted her. Besides, Mia probably already knew. She was wise like that.

So, she stuck close to the Reaper.

Even though it meant getting wet. Not that...it really bothered Marcy. She'd found that she could dry off with relative ease, being a ghost and all. The little ghoul had also been about to ask Mia about what kind of things might live in a moat when she found out. The hard way.

To be fair, she'd never been eaten before. It was...new.
