What did you guys think about the new Sailor Moon anime? Did you see the first stage yet? I loved the new art work and can't wait to see the next episodes!!!

I LOVED the animation in this one. Very detail. wow.
I just hope the rest of it follows more closely to the manga.
However, I kinda dislike too much foreshadowing on her as a princess. (though it IS an interesting touch to somebody who might have never seen or read Sailor Moon)

I'm not sure I like the new artwork. I'm not fond of the colors (they remind me a lot of the Brotherhood colors, and I wasn't fond of that pallet in Brotherhood either).
I definitely didn't like the transformation sequence. I, for the most part, really dislike CG in anime. It always feels like they don't do it right, like they're trying to be 2D and 3D at the same time and it just doesn't work. That, and I've found that joints can sometimes be ignored and body parts move weird (just because the computer model can move that way doesn't mean people can...)
Also, is it just me or is Usagi's face much less expressive? I know the original went over the top with the facial expressions, but this seemed like it was on the other end of the scale, you know?
But I do like the way the animation moves and I like the way that the story seems like it'll more closely follow the manga. We'll get a tighter story than the old "monster of the week" format.

In the manga, for a little while, a reader would think that Sailor V is the potential(or truly is) the moon princess. So the fact that the story is having her dream of a princess could definitely make someone whose new to Sailor Moon believe that she really is just a Sailor Scout and that's it. It makes me think that they really are sticking to the manga so that when Sailor Venus shows up, she will portray as the fake princess.

I'm a little dubious about the new transformation footage but I don't...you know...hate it.
I'm super excited for the next episode where they introduce Ami!

I'm absolutely in love with the new series. Everything is so new and beautiful. I can't wait for them to do seasons 3-5 as well. S was definitely one of my top fav because of my fav character appearing and Stars was just amazing with everything going about Galaxia and you got to see the rest of her Sailor Animates compared to the anime. I liked the idea better that they had been brainwashed and they were still from their respected planet like the original anime where in the manga they were fakes. I'm kind of hoping they keep to that even though it wasn't how it was done in the manga but we will see. ^_^
I really love the new transformations as well. I know there were people out there that like them at all but since I watched Winx Club it was something I was used to by then as well because they did that in that in first movie as well as they Sirenix transformations in season 5. So I really loved that they did that it just made it look so pretty.

I have mixed feelings. I'm glad it's closer to the manga, and I like most of the drawing. However, their CG transformations really bring it down for me. I don't like it. I will continue to watch though.
