The rider blew upwards at a hair that had misplaced itself near his eye. This was interesting thus far. He hadn't been expecting it but now he was traveling with Conquests friends. What would happen if they ran into him?
"A lot of things have killed wolves Kristy. Do you really despise all those things? Death is the natural order of things, we all must face it at some point, even myself."
Famine put his hands in his pockets as he listened intently to the wolf beside him. He tried recollecting the memory as she spoke of it, but he just couldn't find it. "I see... Have we been good friends in the past? If so, that must've been a couple hundred years ago minimum. For I've been alone for the past 4 hundred years."
At this point they were now walking inside the streets of the city, heading towards the outskirts. of course the two received stares for not having grey skin, but nobody seemed to be confronting them for whatever reason. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Teef smiled as she watched the fire burn on her flesh as she spoke to Jay inside his mind.
Meh. I'm a spy of sorts yes. I'm here to collect some information that I've already gotten. I made a deal with your Conquest friend that I'd help the lots of ya escape and find that next page.
Boris put a hand to his forhead as he started feeling wobbily. "Oh dear sweet... Wh-aha... Aleseri Malisfie.... THUMP He collapsed on the floor, totally unconscious.
Abeline shook her head no to the assassin. "No...This...this isn't a stroke. I just feel weakened....Or like something's moving around inside me..." She made a low growl as she put a hand to her forehead. "And I have this awful headache..."
I'll remember your life for you then. I can even erase your memories if you'd like. <3
Ah and yes, I'm seeing through your eyes that he's out. clever move... I should try that sometime. And I understand that Jay is dangerous, I shall be careful. I've already gotten what I needed so, it's no problem to me what he damages now.
I'll be there in 3 2 and 3/4 2 and 1/2 1 1 and 3/4 1 and 1/2 3/4 1/2 annnd...
An explosion occurred just on the opposite side of the room as them. With rocks, dust and fire flying everywhere, Teef walked through unharmed. '0! Sorry that took me so long dears. Now let me get you out of here before that Mara woman catches up with us."
Coming up the cells, she grabbed onto the bars. There, they would finally catch a glimpse of just what Teef could do. At the touch of the metal bars, her skinned shivered and slowly the bars began to actually be absorbed into her body. When they where done, she went to the next and kept 'eating' the bars until both of the cells had a big enough hole in them that everyone could walk through.
"Come with me, I've made a tunnel that will aid our escape." Winking at them, she started skipping towards the hole in the wall she'd just made "Come on, come on! Go any slower and I'll just leave you behind! heart "
Abeline slowly began to force herself to stand, though it seemed difficult for her to do. "Let's go." She said.
As for Mara, she had never been put into any of the cages. In fact she just so happened to be outside the cabin when it lit on fire as well. She was definitely upset about this breach though. She probably held no intent to be kind to the foreigners.

((Gah! I forgot it was my turn.))
As the motley group made their way through the city, they might notice something. Those stares were mainly out of curiosity, but whenever they got close enough, it dimmed. It seemed as though the weight of the world settled down upon whoever got too close. There was a lot of that going around, these days.
Oddly, one or two didn't seem affected, but neither did they seem particularly interested. One was a tall male, face caked with greasy white makeup, was hopping around in a sort of dance, doing flips and tricks for a small crowd. That, coupled with his dress of coiled leather and gaudily-colored scraps of cloth, made for an odd spectacle. In main part, it might put one in mind of a clown. Another was simply stalking through the crowd, dressed in similar fashion, but obviously on his way to another spot. For some reason, it seemed difficult to pay attention to him.
It was that one that stopped directly in front of them, a smile growing on his face. He bowed smoothly, turning it into a strange twisting movement.
"Welcome, welcome. And what would you be a-seekin' in this place, lord? You've picked up protection, a fine guardian. But needs you a guide? For who knows the way better than I? Than Suvigann?" It didn't seem to bother him that neither the context nor meat of his query had more than a little sense. Perhaps it was simply an opportunity to rhyme in speech.
Something in the cast of his eye, and the presence of a black ichor staining his claw-like fingertips, belied his apparent status as a clown.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"...Hmm. You're too old to be pregnant, so re-living that's probably out. s**t. This place is goin' up; I guess we've gotta get you moving and deal with this in a bit. The Rider's genuine worry, coupled with Teef's response, left his face perfectly bland. What. I'm sorry, what did you just say? My memories are my own, first. Second, and more important: if bystanders as collateral damage aren't of concern to you, I'm not sure how I feel about this anymore. That is both sloppy as hell and in awful taste.
"Jay, stop that. You're gonna suffocate down here with the fire you put upstairs. Get her up, will ya? I'll get Boris. He's been a good boy; he don't deserve to die in here. Besides, he's got the key to our weapons stash, over there." The Nyllednian picked up his 'jailer', hoisting his arm about his shoulder. It didn't take long to find the keys, just a quick pat-down. ...While he was at it, he smothered the flames on the Slobodian's lip.
As he approached the locker, his weapon began acting up again. The blade began to rattle in its sheath once more, more violently than before. They had tied it down, but either the bonds had loosened, or it didn't bother with them. With an evil whistle, it slid free of its confines, slicing through the bonds and spinning end-over-end, directly towards its wielder. It cut his nose as it passed, earning the tinge of irritation that came to his expression. Conquest rolled his eyes in disgust. So much useless drama.
The silly thing had embedded itself in the wall, but it didn't take more than a touch to spring out. The other weapons had been bundled together for ease of carry, so slinging them over his shoulder was easy. It took a little juggling, but he eventually got it sheathed and back on his belt. That done, he started up the tunnel that Teef had just made...

"I see."
When the two of them were approached, the rider seemed slightly un-amused. He had never been a fan of jokers. "A guide you say? We seek something strange, but perhaps the likes of you might know something about it. We seek a page to a book you see. The book is very dear to my friend here, and we'd like to put it back together.
Famine looked down at the wolf girl, to see how she might feel about the situation. He had to admit, something was off about this.

Boris only seemed to grumble in his deep sleep. His face would've probably continued to lit of fire had Conquest had not saved him.
Abeline made a small smile. "Me? Old? How rude Conquest! Rub your eyes a little, I have not even one wrinkle!" The old woman couched and lifted her hand up for Jay, so he could help her up.
Well, I don't usually roll this way... Honestly I wasn't expecting to meet any aliens. Especially such sensitive ones.
Teef kept walking through the tunnel and would occasionally look back to make sure everyone was following her and that they were okay. Honestly, the petite looking slobodian was doing her best. But she wasn't quite used to working with people, this was a first. Also her contracts usually were kidnapping people, not saving them.
"Come, come. Do not delay." She said.
Soon enough, they were one the surface once more. The camp was absolutely destroyed at this point. The fire had died down though at least, and there was no sign that they'd be facing resistance... yet.
~sigh~ "Breathe that sweet air. Sure do love a good campfire. Where shall we go friends?"

Famine's query set the clown's head to the side. "Page? A-page, a-page, an odd little gauge! Can see, do me, ain't your job a mage..." He'd begun to caper madly about from foot to foot as he rhymed. Whatever he was doing, it looked like the clown was having fun.
His obscene little dance came to a sudden halt, and he held himself up on one foot. "I'm not knowin' about a page in any town, lord. None what aren't saddled with book." His darkened claws toyed with a scrap of yellow on his lifted leg. "Me think I'm knowin' what you're meanin'. Pages of books, books of learnin', learnin' of the world, worlds in time. Time's tired, lord."
He bowed aside, dipping forward to stand on his hands. From there, he pointed down the main road. "Don't look to towns. Don't look to cities. Wouldn't be there. Don't like people, do they. Look to the dead, dead dwellings. ...Or was it dwellings of the dead? Ah, well."
The jester, 'Suvigann', was starting to caper off into the crowd. His words floated out, his offer rejected. "Remember us kindly, lord."
----------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't that oxygen was consumed, he didn't expect to die that way. But fire generated carbon atoms, spreading them out and turning oxygen to carbon dioxide. To his knowledge, staying low only helped for so long before one gas replaced another.
Conquest scoffed at Abeline's self-defense. "Bah. You're gettin' senile, too, y'ol' lizard. Next you'll be askin' for warm mush, come lunch. Shoutin' at kids to get off your lawn."
For some reason, this one little quip set him off. In a restrained thought configuration, he responded. If there was one thing he hated, it was a sloppy job: success or failure barely factored in. If it had failed, then either someone had failed to take something into account, or new data entered the equation. A success based upon luck was no success at all. Sensitive? You know who can afford to have a lot of feelings, be sensitive? Folks what bludgeon their mates to death with a sport trophy. Professionals have standards: Be polite. Be efficient. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
If Mara were in fact, around, then they would want to beat feet. Explaining this lot was going to be trouble. If the deference that their captors had shown her was any indication, she held a lot of clout, in one way or another. If she'd survived, he didn't want to meet her. Partly, it was caution against an unknown foe. Mostly, however, it was a mix of guilt and gratitude. She'd fed and sheltered them for a time; she deserved better than this.

The rider scratched his head in slight confusion as he tried listening rhymes and riddle talk. "Dwelling of the dead, hm? I'm guessing he means a graveyard of sorts. Or dead dwelling... Uhhhh...."
Famine sighed and gave Kristy a confused look. "I should probably have Myra and Olive come back, yes? It honestly seems to me that we have no idea where we are going. Better to walk than to try and get ahead of ourselves."
He started walking again, expecting Kristy to follow. "Wonder what he meant by 'us' though. Either he meant clowns, a certain organization or he's just schizophrenic. All are equally possible and all equally give me the shivers. Wouldn't thou say Kristy?"
After some time of walking, the two were on the outskirts of the city. And waiting for them was Olive and Myra, who both looked confused and dazed.
"Oh my god I am never riding one of those things again..." Olive said rubbing her forehead.

"What's wrong with worm mush? It's easier to swallow... And I don't even have a lawn Conquest, I live in the sky. What's wrong with your generation hm? So rude! Back in my day, our parents would knock us on the head for saying such things to our elders!" Abeline couldn't help but smile, she was kind of enjoying being old.
"Thank you Jay." She said, as he helped her up. "Why deface his face though? You jealous of it?"
Teef sighed to herself to reasons unknown to the team.
~teehee~ You sure do take this whole killing, and robbing and being bad stuff seriously don't you? I respect that. And maybe I'd be like that too if I could pay attention to things lon-
"OH MY GOSH! IT'S YOUR FURRY GIANT!!!" Teef giggled and ran over to Mr. Cuddles, who who had been sitting there the full 20 minutes that the hero's had been captured.
He growled but didn't do anything as Teef implanted herself into his furry leg and petted him. "Where did you guys even get this thing?! He's so lovely! We could travel anywhere on this big guy!!!"
The old dragon coughed a little and took a deep breathe. "Should we maybe go find Anastasia? Where do we even start looking for everything?"
