Emilia followed her more uncomfortable than she was before and wasn’t even sure how to address this at this point, it was at this point another voice chimed in Felix “you’re very perceptive” Felix came into the room behind Emilia and spoke up “Agent you’re dismissed I’ll take it from here, check the bodies inside and upstairs for intel on who they are and rendezvous with Titus out back” Emilia spun around immediately and left the room leaving Felix with Sebastet.

Felix didn’t say anything as he placed his gear on a chair and finally turned to face her “I’m Commander Felix Reilly, commanding officer of the Warden’s Protectorate 82nd Tracker Division, we’re here because of these gentleman who assaulted this house, my subordinate was correct in that we were at the tavern, we’d only just come to the island through the gate that blew not to long ago, we pulled out of there when we got word that there was an imminent operation coming to the island, due to the nature of our work we couldn’t risk to allow a large scale assault if true to disrupt our own mission to this area, the bunch here only confirms that there is indeed a threat to consider” Felix paused when Emilia came back in briefly and tossed her a unit patch his way before she left again, Felix looked at it a moment and shook his head RRT he wasn’t personally familiar with them but then again he didn’t deal with other organizations if he could help it and continued “and it seems that this RRT group is willing to go to extreme lengths to achieve their goals, especially considering the kind of ordnance they hosed this building with before we could retaliate.” Felix stood there at this point and through his comms Titus chimed in “boss, there appears to be a squad leader out here with the two heavy weapons, looks like he’s got a radio on him” Felix brought a finger up to his ear and spoke up “Emilia check that radio for encryption codes, and see if you can get into their comms net” “copy that I’ll head that way now” that out of the way Felix waited to see what this woman was going to do.

Sebastet gave him a nod when he gave her the correct information, "Thank you for being honest with me. You've confirmed part of our information. We know they're planning on taking down the entire island. We just don't know who is paying the fees for it," she told him simply then looked at the back door over his shoulder as Khajhan brought Bast and Desmond then nodded to her as he left again.

"Desmond... Please tell me that this isn't as specific as I'm thinking it is..." she asked him softly as Bast crossed to her and shook her head over the bodies in the living room.

"Man... Cass was pissed..." Bast said in soft horror. Sebastet simply nodded and didn't elaborate as Desmond started checking the weapons and patches. Bast touched Sebastet's shoulder lightly, "By the way, thanks for sending Khajhan after us instead of doing it yourself. I really didn't want to go 'splat' today," the black-furred female said soberly.

Sebastet shrugged her shoulder, "You're welcome. Now you get to hold Jenny's hand when Khajhan brings her here," she teased the younger female.

Bast gave a soft growl, "As if... She hits Desmond again, she's gonna get perforated..." she growled grumpily as she crossed her arms and moved around the living room to see what other clues she could find on her own.

Sebastet shook her head a bit and looked at Felix, "There's another group on the island that we're looking to take down. But they have a larger staging area on one of the outlying islands. I'm guessing that they'll be be preparing for a full-scale attack within the week, maybe sooner. Khajhan is bringing another here that can answer some of that, I hope. Otherwise, this is just going to screw with her head a bit," she informed him then dropped another one on him, "And if you came through the portal I think you did... I have a few more questions for you... Along the lines of: Who did you piss off in Darkness Abounds and how?" she finished, turning her emerald eyes on him in a firm look that showed that she knew what she was talking about.

"Last I heard, there were three people in Darkness Abounds that could rupture a permanent portal like that... One is now dead, one wouldn't bother because it wouldn't cause enough chaos, and the other one has never shown that level of temper... So... Details, please?" she threw at him, knowing that he'd probably blundered something and she needed to know what kind of damage had come from it...

While Bast was standing by Sebastet and she was speaking with man who had the looks of a soldier he took a moment to look at the chaos and was none to pleased by what he was seeing at least part of a full suppression was present inside the house and shoppe all using heavier arms than normal, he knelt down by a rifle and grabbed it pulling the mag from it he couldn’t help but be confused by the munitions loaded and just held onto the rifle as he stood up looking around again, he could see at least two rifles that were kitted to have launchers on them, another rifle with an optic likely a marksman’s variant and the rest were carrying rifles or carbines of the heavy variety.

Felix watched Desmond walk off into the kitchen a moment before he turned his attention back to the women and replied “wouldn’t know, only heard the shot when we were on our way out of the village to go to the gate, from what I could tell it came from the village square, not to long after that we were assailed by skeletons the entire way to the gate, when the gate blew we had already been here about fifteen twenty minutes, so not entirely sure what had transpired which would cause the gate to blow” felix was surprisingly calm and straight faced, it came from being an officer, and with no way of verifying his story due to the gate being destroyed he wasn’t worried that he left out the fact that Titus had botched his shot on a contract kill, which started the whole shitstorm they found themselves in. Felix turned his attention to Desmond when he came back in and spoke up “well I hate to say it Sebastet, but this is unusually specific of a hit, they came here intending to kill the residence here, I see a parts of at least two squads of RRT suppressors, I don’t see the officer, or any heavy support” Felix interrupted “there are four out back, two were packing heavy ordnance, one an officer another a soldier” Desmond shook his head and continued “well that settles it, the weapons here” he showed the rifle in his hand “this is a AS14E2, it’s a heavy rifle designed to put down hard targets, I don’t have to guess what the heavy weapons are outside, Rapiers, there is just one issue I have with this whole thing” Felix noticed the clip was absent and knew he saw the munitions “the ammunition?” Desmond looked at Felix and nodded “yeah this isn’t standard issue, don’t know who supplied it but it isn’t RRTs usual dose of munitions, who were they after?” Desmond stopped when Khajhan showed up with Bane and Jenny who looked sick from her travel through the shadows and walked over to her “Jenny, what’s going on?” She took a moment before she looked at Desmond and replied “what are you talking about little brother?” he showed her the rifle and pointed towards the kitchen “Jenny there’s two squads of RRT suppressors here, packing heavy weapons” Jenny looked at the weapon before she looked passed Desmond and noticed the corpses, she was just as confused “I don’t know, I have no idea why they are here, I had no outstanding orders for any targets wherever here is” Desmond handed her the clip and pointed out the ammunition she looked increasingly confused “that’s” “yeah not standard issue, what are they?” she shook her head and replied “no idea never seen them before, they weren’t apart of the supplies that came with me and the assault teams, possibly a secondary team assigned a different mission on the island” Desmond sighed as Jenny walked passed him and took on the scene shook up even more that they targeted a civilian location, she dropped the clip on the floor and left through the kitchen outside noting the bodies that were covering the floor before she left through the door outside and noticed a woman and a man by bodies just within the tree line and shook her head as she stepped off to the side and leaned up against the building horrified by what she saw.

Sebastet gave a low growl as she looked at Felix, "You are going to have to stop leaving things out when telling me something... You and your group... I know for a fact that you were sent to Darkness Abounds for observation... Now tell me what you guys did there that got that portal ruptured..." she growled at him, probably giving something away that she shouldn't have, but they were starting to piss her off at this point.

She turned to look at Desmond, "Look upstairs. There's different weapons up there. I think they're onyx bullets coated with Spider Lily, but check to make sure. These... These were apparently intended ofr Cassius..." she told him then looked back at Felix as she waited for him to man up on the information she needed on his end.


Bane had watched Jenny the entire time then approached her when everyone else was busy, "Jenny... You know more than you're saying... You know the truth of what's happening here... You just don't want to admit it... Be honest... With yourself, if not us..." he told her softly.

When she refused to look at him, he gently raised her chin with a finger, "You're stronger than this..." he said to her softly, knowing that she might hate him for it, but she had to face it...

He finally let her go and moved past her to look at Sebastet, "Where is Cassius now?" he asked her.

Sebastet waved a hand in the appropriate direction, "Pose took him to Sasha for healing. She'd be the best for it, if he's as hurt as these guys said he was. The dragon islands. The one with all the crystals. She lives there now," she explained simply while keeping her focus on Felix.

"Bast, go upstairs with Desmond. You're good with scenes. Put it together and give me the sequence," she ordered, gaining a simple nod from the younger Hylarr as she moved past everyone and pulled Desmond with her as she headed up the stairs where the three Alichino were.

Bane took in Sebastet's expression, "I'll go check on him. Anyone up for a flight?" he asked and deliberately looked at Jenny before he motioned Khajhan over to Sebastet. He knew the Hylarr female's temper very well and knew she was about to explode. Only problem was that she usually did it with sharp objects. And she had a human in front of her...

He looked at Jenny, "Sasha may have more information about the bullets used on Cassius..." he offered, thinking that she might be closer to letting go when she saw the end result of this attack...

Felix sighed realizing that their operation was compromised from the start and just keyed his comms “Emilia, Titus get in here” Felix didn’t say anything else and just waited a moment. When Emilia came in she had the radio and just sighed “commander I haven’t pinpointed the codes yet I’ll need more time” Felix nodded and replied “understood, Emilia would you please provide the details on our last contract” Emilia seemed concerned but he shook his head “it’s fine we’re already compromised, no point hiding it now” she nodded and looked at Sebastet “a day before the incident we were approached by the villages representatives, they wanted us to eliminate a threat to the village as a whole, but were to terrified to attempt to remove the person in question due to their lack of experience, they knew that a small team was operating in the village and they wanted us to handle the problem, so that they could be free, they paid upfront, and gave us the information of who we were removing, and where they would be at the following day” Felix nodded and picked up where she stopped “the village wanted a woman from the castle removed by the name Ilea, we were informed that she would be arriving at the village square the next day and they wanted us to kill her, having already been informed of the imminent threat on the island I order Emilia to go ahead and secure a place to stay while we were determining whether or not the intel was true or not, til then Titus and myself stayed in the village and found positions optimal for ensuring a clean kill, Titus was assigned to a tower with a long range optic so that he could have the best chance of a kill shot, the tower was the tallest in the village which allowed him to see when the target was coming but also have clear sightlines of the square below. I would remain hidden in an alleyway to provide support as issues arise. Titus” Titus spoke up immediately “target arrived as anticipated, thought she had some guy with her and a sizeable escort but they weren’t blocking the shot, the undead had collected the entire village to the square for some reason but don’t know why maybe to show off the guy she had with her. Anyway I had a clear shot of her heart and just as I fired something grabbed me from behind and the shot went wide, as far as I know she was still hit but I don’t know for sure, I removed the assailant that caught me by surprise and repelled down the side of the tower to get clear of the horde of undead that was coming up after me” Felix took over at this point “we caught up with each other in an alleyway and fought our way through the streets, when we finally reached the gate we were free and clear of any hostiles and simply went through without delay, beyond that I have no idea what caused the destruction of the gate” Felix stood there and looked at Emilia who was still tinkering with the radio, trying to get the encryption codes Titus seeing as he wasn’t needed anymore simply went back outside.

Jenny looked at Bane and considered a moment before she spoke up “I’ll go with you” Jenny was stunned by the events so far and was trying to piece things together but not seeing any clear explanation for this assault. She wasn’t really sure what help she would be but at this point she would try. Desmond followed Bast upstairs and once in the room in question he found the mess that was there by surprise, surprisingly they were indeed using different weapons, standard carbines he stepped over to the nearest rifle and picked it up pulling the clip from it. Loaded in the clip were also nonstandard munitions the bullet looked like it was a black rock, onyx to be sure, and his senses did detect a faint trace of a flower but admittedly he wasn’t positive it was spider lily but the dead only confirmed it likely was indeed spider lily. He stood up and looked around the room finding at least six more suppressors half a squad, this was a kill team to say the least they were being very specialized but he couldn’t understand the munitions, they handled so many different races that their own specialized rounds would have been issued over these unknown bullets. He pulled a bullet out of the clip and dropped both before looking at Bast and sighing “well, this is a mess what’s the onyx for? I’m admittedly not as well versed in all the races but I don’t recall one that would need onyx to kill them” he was concerned and hoped Bast could clarify.

Sebastet almost choked on her own tongue when they said who they'd tried to kill but waited to hear all of it before speaking, "You're lucky you got out alive. Ilea was the servant to the previous ruler of Darkness Abounds. The b*****d was a particular thorn in my side for a very long time. He was also a former god and the one that created Darkness Abounds. The guy that Ilea was 'showing off' was probably her new master and the new ruler of Darkness Abounds. Ilea is also one of the most powerful necromancers I've ever come across. The only ones better at torture than she is are: her former master, the former king of the demons, and an insane nutcase better left unmentioned," she explained to them, still blinking over it all.

She turned to Khajhan, "No wonder she blew the portal!" she called out as he put a hand on her shoulder to keep her from doing something drastic.


Bast looked the scene over and shook her head, "These three were all Alichino... Very rare... In fact, I think these were the last three," she said softly, kneeling beside one to gently push a lock of hair out of his face, "Two were mated to Cassius..." she added, knowing that he'd understand the horror of it. She took in a slightly shaky breath as she continued, "Looks like they surprised them and simply unloaded into the room. They're very weak against Onyx and Spider Lily," she explained then pushed up to her feet again, "It looks like the others were waiting for Cassius downstairs. I know-" she stopped there, not wanting to say it after the conversation in the kitchen earlier.

The evidence was pointing in one direction: The Church had hired RRT...


Bane looked at Jenny and nodded then moved further down the beach to shift to his dragon form. He finally knelt and turned his head to Jenny, "Use my leg to get up on my back between those two neck ridges and hold onto the one in front of you," he explained to her, watching as she considered it carefully and grinned at her, "I could carry you the same way I did before..." he taunted her, giving a deep chuckle when she growled at him and moved to get on his back instead.

"Hold on," he warned her then gave a leap into the air, spreading his wings. Two down strokes and he was airborne, a few more and he was moving over the ocean towards the islands in question. The trip didn't take him long and he landed on the beach a good ways back from the entrance to Sasha's cave, letting Jenny down before he shifted as well. While he was nervous about seeing his daughter again, he had another purpose for coming here now...

Felix simply nodded as Emilia looked at them in disbelief, that was someone that required more subtlety and equipment they didn’t have right now. She took her log book off the chain at her hip and opened it to a particular page, taking note that they’d need more specialized equipment if they ever dealt with one such as Ilea again, and as much as she didn’t like the idea of using requisitioning them, munitions blessed to handle undead was going to be a necessity as well.

Khajhan was annoyed at this point and their bond showed it as much as it showed Sebastet’s, and he finally spoke up “seems to me we will need to tread very carefully regardless, this foe is not afraid to use whatever means is necessary to ensure they get the kill, and I would advise that you behave yourself” Khajhan looked at Felix when he said that who understood what he meant and replied “understood, at this point we’re only here to deal with the threat to the island and our own operations” Khajhan couldn’t help but be a bit more perceptive about that and continued “which is why you will behave yourself, I haven’t quite determined your motives, but the scent of blood on you tells me that it was nothing good” Felix maintained his composure even though he knew that this cat was likely a security risk to their operations, though he had to admit their operations in darkness abounds were likely over at this point since the population would like not forgive them for unleashing whatever horrors was set loose to destroy that gate, they were going to have to reassess their plans once things settled down with the island.

Desmond had Bast in his arms without hesitation and held onto her and spoke “don’t worry, this isn’t going to happen again, we’ll deal with this problem together, but it is pretty obvious whoever is working in the shadows, is playing a dangerous game. But I can guess that someone with very deep pockets is pulling the strings, and RRT is knowingly going along with it… I can’t allow that to happen, I don’t want this to happen at the castle” he held her a moment and gave her a kiss on the lips to bring her back to a more comfortable state and when he let her up for air he grabbed her hand and guided her back downstairs.

Once downstairs Desmond caught the eyes of Felix and Khajhan both “well this was well staged, the weapons upstairs are definitely loaded with a special bullet, from what I can tell onyx and spider lilies, they didn’t have a chance to react, and based on the holes on the walls looks like the rapiers unloaded half of their feeds into the house, and I don’t have to guess that those were likely a special lend of both types of bullets.” Desmond wrapped an arm around Bast waist to keep her calm.

Sebastet gave a short growl as Khajhan reached an understanding iwth Felix then let that one go. She had enough to deal with right now...

She looked at Desmond as he came down with Bast and nodded to him, "Then it's exactly what I thought..." she growled, her tail lashing behind her as she turned to pace a bit. Everyone took a few steps back from her. Except Khajhan. He put his hand at her waist and pulled her into him, letting her feel his claws in the process as he growled at her. That made her calm down and give him a grin, "Later," she whispered to him, gaining a grin from him as he let her go again.


Bast gave a small distressed sound as she leaned into Desmond, "Then it is the Church... I was right... They're coming here, sending these here..." she said in a small voice then pulled away from Desmond to move out the back door and down the beach, panting hard. The Church had taken one family away from her. Now they were after this one...



Sebastet motioned to the doorway for Desmond to follow Bast, "She's right. They're the only one that could fund this mess. Contracts on me, Cassius, Ash, and the island itself... Those four alone are astronomic in cost. No one else could afford it. And as bad as Cassius pissed them off, they'd have a particular desire to see him dead more than anyone else," she explained, knowing that there was no other explanation.

She looked at Felix with a considering frown for a moment, "Considering how bad you botched the last job I paid you for... I hope you're looking to make up for it... If so, I have a new job for you..." she told him thoughtfully, hoping that he wouldn't turn her down.

Especially how much she'd lost on them botching the job to observe in DA....

Immediately after hearing that Emilia pulled the contract paperwork out of her log and looked at it confused, ordinarily they knew who their employer was but this one was different, and she looked at Felix “Commander what’s going on?” Felix just shook his head and replied “isn’t it obvious, when the contract was agreed on, the person who brought it to us was acting as a intermediator between us and her, we had specific parameters that had to be adhered to, one was keep a low key and observe, to which you did well, but we still had to remove certain threats as they presented themselves to ensure the stability of darkness abounds was predictable, the groups we hunted, were threats to that stability, and our operation so they were removed. Reports were going out at regular intervals as the situation changed. To which was botched simply because we agreed to take a job on the side to shoot someone we were tasked to watch” Felix looked at Sebastet and just sighed “as for the job might as well take it, we won’t charge this time since we screwed up the last one” Khajhan couldn’t help but grin even more at this and simply stepped over to the wall and leaned up against it while crossing his arms.

Desmond nodded and took off after Bast, it wasn’t a difficult task considering the Bond and her scent showed the way. He caught up with Bast and was walking by her side, not really saying anything, but simply letting his presence be felt and calming, or as calming as it could be considering the circumstances. Eventually he took her hand and held onto it, before he said anything, their bond showing where she was at the moment “listen, what the church is trying to do won’t succeed, they aren’t going to take your family away from you again” he stopped her and looked into her eyes “I won’t let them take me or anyone else away from you, remember you’ve got a much bigger family than you had and I can tell you, none of us will let the church interfere or try and use us like this.”

Sebastet gave a nod to them, knowing that she'd won, "Good. I need this village protected. There are families with children here. Having you three working actively to keep more of these assholes out of here would be of benefit to us all. You can still keep your cover with the villagers. Hang out with them. Drink with them. Eat with them. Play with the kids. Integrate into the village. When there's even a hint of an alarm, take care of it," she explained the new job and knew that it would be too good to pass up. Then she waited to see what the answer was.

She was glad Khajhan had calmed her down. She could think now instead of simply reacting. Plus, she was looking forward to what he was planning to do with his claws later...



Bast stopped when Desmond took her hand and spoke to her, looking into his eyes as she felt how serious he was. She finally nodded to him and put her arms around his waist, resting her head against his chest to listen to his heartbeat, "If that's the case... We need the rest of your family here to help us..." she said softly, knowing that he needed them as much as the rest of them did.

Bane would convince Jenny... Wolfe was off doing his own thing... But there were others still missing....

She could really only picture her brother's face from that day, when she'd been taken to the ship. He'd stared at her, not even waving at her, as if he'd known at that young age that they'd never see each other again. She'd found out that the Hunters had raided her village the day after she'd left. Only pure luck had gotten her on the ship in time to come here. But... Well, her nightmares had supplied plenty of possible death scenes for her family...

She tightened her arms around his waist, needing him to chase the images in her mind away but not sure how to ask for the help. She felt frozen... And lost...

Emilia looked at Felix just about the same time as Titus walked into the room and looked at everyone, suddenly feeling very confused “what’s up?” Felix looked at Titus and replied “we’ve got a new job, Emilia continue making arrangements to get your shoppe established here in the village, Titus we’ve got a long term security detail here in the village, Emilia will provide you the details, go ahead and maintain cover and tag along with her, I’ll rendezvous with you all later at the tavern” Titus nodded as did Emilia who gestured for the other door heading through the shoppe and they took off without another word.

Khajhan watched them leave and could not help but shake his head “won’t they get into trouble?” Felix shook his head “not at all, Titus and Emilia both are professionals, we’ve got a job to do and won’t let anything interfere with that as long as we’re on duty, granted I may have to request for additional support later to assist with the security detail but nothing that can’t be handled.”

Wolfgang even with the precious cargo in his arms did not take very long for him to arrive at Cassius’ place which left him more than concerned about what had happened, it seemed like there was people inside from what he could tell so he carefully moved through the door and into the shoppe finding that there were holes everywhere, like the entire place had been chewed up by automatic fire. The more he looked at the damage the more he had to wonder what was going on until he saw a RRT suppressor on the floor dead, his temper was starting to swell as he moved through the shoppe putting the cargo on the counter and moving further into the building until he went through a door and into the living where everyone there looked at te pirate looking character standing there looking somewhat relieved “Thank goodness what a mess you’ve got here” he stopped and saw Sebastet standing there and smiled lightly “well looks like things are well in hand if you are here” he held his smile as he placed his hand on the pommel of his cutlass.

Desmond could tell that Bast needed his help and was trembling from the memories that had cropped up as a result of this attack from the church, he leaned into her and gave her a deep kiss to remind her of the better times, their bond showing times that were of them together, their bond was strong and the best memories he could think of were with Bast. But just as quickly as he was so heavily focused on Bast something in the back of his mind caught his attention. His senses were picking up a familiar presence one he hadn’t felt in such a long time which caused him to question whether or not it was real, he pulled away from the kiss and smiled “I can’t believe it!” the confused look on her face was met with a hug and Desmond picking her up suddenly “there’s someone here you have to meet” and darted off with Bast in his arms heading back to Cassius’ place.

Felix was surprised to see the man standing there and couldn’t help but ask “uh who are you?” Wolfgang chuckled a bit and replied “well mate, I guess my reputation isn’t as well known as it used to be, I’m Wolfgang Netley a pirate and smuggler in these ere waters, and who might you be?” Felix was surprised, and replied “Commander Felix Reilly, and your reputation is known Grim Reaper, but I’ve never seen you before now” Wolfgang bellowed in laughter before he replied “I’d be more concerned If you had seen me” he continued laughing as he picked up on a very familiar presence he sensed.

Sebastet shook her head as he came in, "It would be you... I'm guessing Cassarria sent you this time," she leaned back a little bit and caught sight of the crate on the counter in the shop then nodded, "Yup... Well, Cass won't be able to collect it for a bit... He's in need of specialized healing right now. They managed to get his mates upstairs then waited for him down here," she told him simply, keeping to the deal they'd made that she didn't know anything else about him.

Of course, she'd made that deal with Cassarria, so even... Wolfgang... didn't know that Sebastet knew...

She looked at the pirate with an annoyed expression, "Apparently the Church isn't satisfied with sending their Hunters anymore... They've decided to hire the slaughter out this time..." she added in a grim tone, knowing that he'd catch on quick.

"Oh! Wolfgang, this is my Mate Khajhan. Khajhan, meet Wolfgang the pirate," she made that introduction and knew that Wolfgang wouldn't poke at it too much...



Bast smiled as he helped her get out of her head and was more than ready to finish the teasing that came of it, but then she started to pick up what he was and simply ran back with him to the house. She'd picked up a flash of a memory from him and recognized the face now but was still understandably confused, "How do you know Wolfgang?" she asked Desmond as they moved through the back door.

Of course, Desmond wouldn't know that Wolfgang was the one to bring Bast to the island from England... Or that he'd nicknamed her Kitten during the trip... And was the only one to date allowed to call her that...

Wolfgang nodded understanding fully and stepped forward offering a hand to Khajhan, who seemed to hesitate a moment before he took his hand Wolfgang laughing again as he spoke up “your mate huh? Pleasure to meet ya mate” Wolfgang paused when he heard footsteps come in and turned around to see Desmond and Bast standing there, Laughing some more he walked over to them and for the moment ignored Desmond who was in shock trying to figure out how he was still alive “well if it isn’t my Kitten it has been a while darling” he smiled warmly and gave her a big hug before he looked at Desmond and shook his head “been a while…” Desmond nodded still in shock to see him there, but eventually he spoke up “you’re supposed to be dead bulldog” Wolfgang chuckled a bit and replied “well that’s a long story, but sufficed to say I’m alive and well and happily married, though I do work as a pirate when I’m not at home” Wolfgang chuckled some more as he saw the look on his face and then noticed the mark on him and on Bast and just smiled from ear to ear “well ain’t that a surprise, you found yourself a mate kitten, well you couldn’t ask for a better man I say” Desmond finally spoke up “Varos why didn’t you contact us?” he sighed and replied “simple because I couldn’t afford to let RRT catch wind that I was still around, and risk them trying to get into my home” Desmond sighed and replied “okay, so where’s home these days?” Varos grinned and replied as he held Bast close “well that’s easy, I live with my wife whose the owner of the Club” Desmond’s look caused Varos to bellow in laughter as he let go of Bast finally and slapped a hand across Desmond’s back before he looked at Sebastet and continued “well I’ll be around a while, my crew have need to rest before we have to head home so if there be anything you need sent that way just have it brought to my ship and my crew will make sure it gets stowed in the ships hold” he stepped over to a chair and casually sat down.

Once comfortable Varos continued “so Sebastet, what’s been going on, why’s RRT on your island, last I checked they had no reason being here, what’s changed?” Varos wasn’t going to address everything just yet but he knew he was going to have to if nothing else to Sebastet for hiding his true identify from her all this time.

Sebastet shook her head over the whole thing but waited for the moment as she crossed to a table and wrote out a note to Lydia to send down the shipment for Cassarria since the ship was in port to take it, then she sent the note to that articular vampire using the shadows.


Bast returned the hug and gave a soft laugh as she was put back on her feet, "Nice to see you again, Uncle Wolfgang. I see Cassarria gave you a better feather for your hat. I told you it needed to be bigger," she teased him a bit, remembering the time spent on his ship. It had been her first touch of real kindness away from home and he'd kept her laughing the entire time with stories of his family and Cassarria and her club. He'd also let her climb up the rigging of his ship as much as she'd wanted to. Something she'd found out that no one else was allowed to do...


As he moved to sit down, Sebastet took it up, "Shipment should be on it's way down to your ship soon. For now... There's any number of reasons why the Church wants this island taken out and you know it. The prices on my head and the island alone are higher than the one on yours. Hell, the one on Cassius' head is higher than the price on yours... They accept piracy before any of the rest of us..." she explained to him then looked at Bast and Desmond for a moment.

She looked back at Varos, "We need the rest of your pack. Here. Now. I know you picked up a few pieces of information that would help here. It's time to give up the secrets, my friend..." she told him simply and pulled out a dagger from the small of her back and looked at it for a moment before offering it to him, hilt first.

That was the piece that Cassarria had sent her. But it was a special piece. It was the blade he'd put to Cassarria's throat when he'd met her. Cassarria had sent it to Sebastet. She just didn't think she'd need to call in that debt this soon...

Varos stopped what he was doing when he saw the knife and just raised a hand up “I see, hang onto it would ya” Varos smiled lightly before he continued “well there isn’t much good news on that one. Secret wise if we were going to get the whole gang back together, we would need the special encryption codes used by RRT, more specifically” “Cyrus” interrupted Desmond as Varos looked at him and nodded before he continued “the problem is, Cyrus seldom ever leaves town for anything unless headquarters gives him an order and last I heard he was quite content to sit intown and at the branch office doing whatever he does there. As for the rest of the pack, well apart from myself and Desmond here I’ve not heard a peep on where everyone else is except two, but they aren’t hard to track down considering” Varos looked at Desmond again who understood who he was talking about “Rey and Trey” Varos nodded “those two are the easiest to track down but apart of the those of us who would be among the hardest to get here since they work in logistics out of a warehouse, RRT monitors the warehouse on a frequent basis they are untouchable right now without the encryption codes to reroute them someplace less guarded, the others I have no clue are at” Desmond chimed in again “well you don’t have to worry, Jenny and Wolfe are already here, you missed Jenny not to long ago, and Wolfe’s doing his own thing right now so I don’t know where he’s at.”

Varos nodded “so I don’t have to guess why RRT is here then” Desmond shook his head “yeah, they were contracted to deal with the problem, Jenny was initially assigned to the assault teams on the island but a dragon scooped her up before anything could be done, I was here to kill her” he pointed at Sebastet “but due to poor intel I ran into Bast here and tried to kill her instead” Varos chuckled a bit as he looked at kitten and then at Desmond again “well that’s RRT for you. So at this point in time the assault teams on the island don’t have a dog of war leading the charge?” Desmond nodded “well then you’ve got time before another one of us arrives” Khajhan who was listening finally spoke up “how much time?” Varos shrugged “depends on how fast RRT can get one of us here, if there’s one close maybe three days, otherwise it could take longer depending on where the assigned dog of war was at when they got the assigned this” Felix who’d stayed back during all of this spoke at this point “couldn’t you just try and capture them as they arrive?” Varos shook his head “we could do that but then Cyrus will get wise to it and just order the attack anyway, this way they aren’t doing anything, well apart from what they did here anyway.”
