I don't care to much for Kingdom Hearts myself (except for the gameplay... I luvre the gameplay) so I don't think I'll be getting II...
But I will of course be collecting Settsa picies cool

From what I've heard, the programmers needed another NPC and just wanted to see what he'd look like animated. He's the ex-chamption of the Struggle tournament at the beginning.

OMG... when you fight him the very first thing he says in the actual fight is, "My life is a chip in your pile. Ante up!"
Heh... he asks you to throw the fight, too. I always did picture him as a bit of a cheater, though...

actually umm... no offense but i completely hated what they did to setzer in KH 2...
i really just didn't like it at all i mean... if you're gonna make him a battle at least make it edgar... that would have suited the character type anyways... i mean his persnality SCREAMS edgar in the game -_- full of himself, fangirls... i think that's edgar.
i just never got that impression from Setz...
so ya... sorry to all you fangirls ^_^... but the KH 2 setzer, put rather frankly, sucked.

I completely understand; one of my friends feels the same way. However, try thinking of it this way--would Edgar ever be caught dead using a little foam bat as opposed to, say, Autocrossbow? Setzer has an interesting design that translated well to updated graphics. His "unique" weapons (cards and dice) are easily converted into a sword. He's got that nifty tagline at the beginning of the battles. As for getting his personality wrong, Setzer is a free spirit. Remember when you are first introduced to him in FFVI? He's kidnapping Maria, and everyone knows about him. It translates to "fangirls." If it was Edgar, he wouldn't be in the Struggle tournament because he'd be off either running Figaro or off doing something with one (or three) of the fangirls. Setzer allowed more give as far as that was concerned.

I dunno about beating up children, as it never really comes up in FFVI, but he's posing and conceited enough to kidnap Maria at the climax of the first act of the opera, remember? And cocky enough to leave a note first. The catchphrase just sort of works with him; they would have had whomever it was say something there anyways (all the Struggle combatants did) and his was cute and memorable. His last name is Gabbiani, by the way. mrgreen

well it's proven that he beats up children. I mean the entire struggle tournament was full of kids, and Setzer is the reigning champ... *shrugs* call me crazy but i put two and two together =P
and i know they would've made a phrase for anyone, that was kind of my point in mentioning it really.
thanks for the last name info...
and despite all other evidence, i STILL can't picture him the way they put him *shrugs* Setzer just really never struck me that way... ever. Even with the opera scene, at most, i thought, he was doing it to get a bride, not necessarily just to show off.

I'd like to see Setzer doing more stuff myself, so maybe I'll check out KH II. I liked him in FF 6, as I like to throw cards myself. I think I got the idea from either him or Gambit... maybe both of them. Those thigns can welt you something fierce if throw correctly ^^ Not sure I'd go at take on a behemoth with them though. sweatdrop
