It was about time something good had come to the joint herds of the Vitterfolk and WillowGlen herds. Malis had been discussing it with Dayunsi and Imogen and they had all agreed it was a good thing. Planning had been going on for about a month and it was nice to see things come together. The younger foals always looked forward to the Storytelling Celebration, but this was anticipated by many of the adults also due to the bad news and stresses they had all received over the season. The large troll matriarch had sent out runners to all the nearby herds with instructions to pass along the message and invitation to everyone they met. It was understood that, this would be an event where any and all were welcome as long as they did not harm another soquili within the marked herd territories. She looked over the decorations being placed up by many of the WillowGlen herd and nodded with toothy grin, something she had not sported in a while. Most of the flowers had been personally grown by Dayunsi and his son, Nidawi, and were now being hung by the flutter Bethari and her half sister Mairéad. Malis turned to Sen'jin as he trotted up, an odd look upon his face.
"Everything be clear Mum, no 'walkers t' be seen. Ysiel has t' air patrol an' Tai'jin has asked her mate t' protect t' waterways while t' event be goin' on." The troll stallion took his job of guardian seriously and had been training any other Vitterfolk who had shown promise in the more physical combats. "Saryen be showin' great aptitude in scoutin' an' ah be thinkin' he be good in stayin' close to t' riverside though ah wish ah had someone other than just Ysiel t' keep an eye on t' Flock in case someone came wanderin' through." He had encountered the Flock on more than one occasion, though they had a mutual respect for the boundary of the river. He had immunity because of his mateship with Ysiel, something he had learned after a misfortune meeting but Saryen did not have such protection. "Ah be thinkin' either 'Kepi or Mar'li could be stationed there?"
"Mar'li be needin' t' be here an' greet t' guests when they be comin'. Ah be thinkin' Kepi be a good choice, go let her know." Malis nodded thoughtfully before turning to call out to Imogen. "How be t' decorations? We be almost ready?"
Mairéad piped up for her mother, "Almost done here! Just have a few more flowers to place along the entry arches." Immi nodded her agreement, mouth still full of blossoms. They had spend the better part of the week decorating but she was excited to see people's expressions when they saw all the hard work. "I need to check with Pip after to see if he found enough fruits and vegetables for the refreshments but hopefully people will be showing up soon." The green mare was happy that she was going to meet so many new people and had been practicing her story with Lyrica for quite a while. If all went well it would be the biggest celebration they had held in along while.

It was time. The herds were gathering. The toughened Vitterfolk would join their softer brethren, and the whole world would be there to watch it.
Hakkar ruffled his wings as an almost malicious grin spread across his face. Hundreds of Soq would be there to witness the ceremony, and where there were crowds, he would never be too far off. A chuckle escaped from him. He couldn't wait. Oh, he'd been given the standard "don't get into trouble or do anything stupid" talk, of course, but even that couldn't stop his ecstatic mood. Besides, him, do stupid things? He was the cleverest one out there, they were the stupid ones.
Letting out a snort, the young stallion wandered over to the corner of the gathering place. From here he would watch and wait, see the crowds as they formed. One ear pressed forwards eagerly, while the other hovered backwards. A lop-sided smirk complemented the asymmetry of his ears. Oh, he couldn't wait. This was going to be fun.

The runner hadn't taken long in reaching the little sushi herd. While Nori had been surprised to see a stranger, he had welcomed the fellow with joy. They didn't get many visitors and this gathering had sounded quite promising. Though, Nori did have to admit he had been a little hesitant to go at first. After all, the foals were still fairly young and it was such a journey for them. Despite his reservations, the family had won him over and he had agreed to the trek. He did have to admit he felt a little safer having Uroko around though.
Nori turned and looked behind him, catching sight of the rest of his family. There was Gunkan beside him, Uroko leading the pack, the foals were safely in the middle, and Onigiri and Akiko were in the back to keep any stragglers from following behind. Reassured that they were all still in one piece, Nori turned and nuzzled his lifemate.
Gunkan was extremely happy that he had talked Nori into coming on this little adventure. It was good to get out every now and then and the foals would love the excitement. Returning his lovemate's nuzzle, Gunkan took a quick look behind him at the rest of the gang. They were all looking a little bit tired from the journey but they had managed to keep their spirits up. Luckily, they hadn't been too terribly far from the gathering place so the journey was possible to make without much issue. They had also been extremely lucky in not encountering any trouble either. While he had full faith in Uroko, Gun didn't want any trouble.
"Don't they look happy?" He asked his lovemate with a smile. It still amazed him how large their little family had grown in such a short time.
Ikura skipped along behind her fathers happily. Normally they were so over-protective so this trip had been a good surprise for her. If there was one thing Ikura loved, it was adventures. Though she had to admit, hanging out with the whole family and walking in a group did get to be a little bit dull sometimes, but she didn't dare sneak off like she usually would. Sure she and her sister Kisu had gotten themselves into plenty of trouble in the past, however, she knew that on a journey such as this, it would be entirely unacceptable. That and she loved her fathers too much to worry them while they were already stressed. Ikura knew that this trip was already difficult for mother Nori especially, it would be cruel for her to go and cause any trouble.
The filly could tell that they had arrived. There appeared to be all sorts of soquili flocking in from all over the place. Some of them were small like Onigiri and Akiko, while others were taller than her fathers. She couldn't wait to see them all and maybe talk to a few of them as well.
Uroko headed the odd little group as their guardian. He couldn't say how long he had been with them now, but he was definitely beginning to feel like part of the family. The foals even called him 'Uncle' which always brought a smile to his face and lightened his heart. While the herd hardly ever traveled or were ever in any danger, they had taken Uroko in as their guardian of sorts. Having a job within the herd had given Uroko Banggai a sense of pride. He had been a prince once upon a time, but had abandoned that title long ago. Now he was simply 'Uroko'.
"Looks like we've made it." He nodded to the stallions. He had been glad that their trip was unadventurous. While he could have protected them from minor danger, something such as a skinwalker would have been much more difficult. Especially with such a large group and such young foals.
*edit: found the right cert thanks to Nyx*
Sashimi walked along with his brothers and his sisters in the middle of the pack. It had been difficult for him to keep up at times due to his smaller legs. Whenever he started to lag behind, his family would stop and take a break or simply go at a slower pace. He knew it was likely frustrating for them, but he certainly appreciated it. His older sisters had tried to help him along by keeping him in good spirits and playing games with him as well. He had liked that. They had told him tales and sung him songs and the journey had actually gone by quite quickly all things considered.
Now that they had appeared to arrive, Sashimi took a good look around. He didn't think he'd ever seen this many soquili in one place before, nor did he ever think he would again. They were all so fascinating and he stared on in awe.
-Onigiri and Akiko are here as well, I'm just out of RP time for today. -
[If anyone wants to RP with one of my soquili please do. Just PLEASE quote me if you do. If you don't quote I won't see it and you won't get a response.]

The day was just like any other day. Amira awoke suddenly from another nightmare. She nuzzled her mate Amenophis as she thought more about her nightmares. She whispered to her mate, and headed out for the day, determined that she would just spread her wings, and see where they would take her.
The day had been rather uneventful, but she had covered a lot of air. As she flew, she saw a small gathering of other below. as she hovered closer, it seemed as if everyone was having a great time. "This might be a great way to get my mind off of things. Maybe its just what I need!' Amira flapped slower and slower, kicking up dirt here and there as she landed with a thump. She wiggled her wings, fluffing them and nesting them st her sides, and began wandering around the "party", promising to have fun, and let her mind wander away from all of the troubles she'd had been experiencing, and secretly wondering if any of her siblings would show up.

Guedes had to admit she was unimpressed by the intrusion of her swamp home to deliver an invitation. Her disposition quickly changed once she learned who had sent the runner. This would be the perfect opportunity to finally get in close to the two herds and hopefully, someday, Malis as well. She harbored no malicious intentions, which her own children found unusual, instead she was preferring to establish some sort of trading route or agreement with them. This gathering would be the perfect foothold in the door.
She gazed about the lands before her, silently taking in just how many others were arriving as well. The older mare had to assume many were there to just partake in the celebrations, or out of pure curiosity. She had to admit that she was intrigued. Just how many more would show?
Mar'li stood in silence at her mother's side. She was not one for large groups, but with how important this gathering was the mare decided she would have to deal with it for the time being. She was at least thankful that her brother and both their own children had tagged along as well. It would serve as decent learning experience for the lot.
"What is the purpose of this gathering...?" The younger mare asked, keeping her head and voice low.
"The joining of the two herds, from what I caught from the runner sent to the swamp." Her eldest son, Amani, replied. He dug his claws into the soft ground as his gaze wandered the territory. Wanting to protect his family even here, he began to take note of others that caught his eye. One stallion in particular, red and black in color, grabbed his attention almost immediately with how he began to interact with a nearby dapple. Amani snorted and made sure to keep close watch on him for the time being.

Tok'kal had lagged behind some, but finally followed up in her brother's hoof prints. She too had gotten the similar discussion, as she was always causing trouble with her siblings, why not?
Moving up along side Hokkar, she bumped against him. She too was excited to see all the herds, she hasn't seen anything not mainly blue in color for a while.
" 'ey, bruddah, your tail feathers be needin preening." She teased as she looked over the gathering people. Then slowly a rumbling chuckle came from her, low and reverbing in her chest. "Imagine if we still be foals, we'd be makin' worse trouble dan we would be doin' on normal occasions, eh?" She smacked his flank with her dreaded tail.
She then noticed their mother coming down and knew her conversation had to come to a stop. Tok'kal shifted on her hooves and watched on silently as her mother gave orders to her brother, and she waited to see if there would be any for her as well.
