Nintendo is running a tempting promo for Fire Emblem x SMT that runs until August. If you register FE:A and SMT4 together you get $30 of eShop credit. It's pretty much getting a digital copy of secondary game for peanuts if you never got around up registering FE:A.

I'd be way screwed with my 3DS games problem if my younger self didn't hate fun with birthday and christmas money. I'm kinda leaning towards getting the game right now since I can always sell it or trade it to a classmate (or craigslist person) for Bravely Default later down the road if I don't like it. And if I do like it, I've got 70+ hours of entertainment ahead of me. I dunno I put too much consideration into my game library. *shot*

I haven't paid any attention to Dragon's Crown or what Level 5 is working on, I'll have to give it a look.... What's the difference between Squaresoft and SquareEnix?

I return! emotion_donotwant

I am pretty lenient with my library but I don't sell any of the games I get because I find a special something in a lot of them.... even though I wanted to sell metroid other M so bad >: ( It's still a memory of my popop... they slandered it... but it's a memory still!

Square soft had something really special. They made legendary games all of which had tons of content and were very iconic/filled with adventure. All the way up to the point they merged with Square Enix. Having said that, Square Enix is NOT a bad company... but they really focus on a lot of money grabs. This poses an issue because most of their money and budget goes toward graphics...

Squaresoft is responsible for every Final Fantasy up to nine.. They made Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger which are two of my most favorite games of all time. The best thing that SE has done that I have played was probably Dragon Quest VIII and Kingdom Hearts. I am pretty highly anticipating the new Final Fantasy as well... but it's the first FF that's not turn based. I am not sure how I feel about it but it looks fun!

Level 5 made Ni No Kuni (along with studio ghibli) and a bunch of older classical JRPG's from Dark Cloud to numerous other really thorough and fun games like White Knight Chronicles. Level 5 is without a doubt the masters of creating JRPG's that are very addictive and full of adventure. I am pretty sure their collaboration on Dragon Quest VIII is what made it really good. The artist was also Akira Toriyama who needs no introduction.

Atlus is just... fuggin amazing and wonderful. They have made some awe inspiring things. They are pretty much the new Squaresoft as far as Persona goes... I can't appreciate them enough >< Atlus has been gold as of late albeit they have been running into some money issues as well unfortunately.

My blog is being thrown up now so I don't have to gush as much. You can catch all of the reviews I have there which I think are pretty thoughtful and geared away from the negative aspects. After all, a game is played in order to enjoy. Anyways, I'll be posting that somewheerrrrrre when it's done.

rofl I can relate (gah, Nintendogs). There's some games I have no problem getting rid of though.

So that's the dealio with Squaresoft. It's probably less of change with the merger and more about someone retiring. I have never heard of this next FF but it sounds intriguing. SE also has Bravely Default coming out next year and I've heard it's worthy rival for P4G and FE:A.

So those are the games Level 5 does! I swear man, even if it happens when I'm withered and old some day I play these PS3 games. And your blogs will probably influence how badly I want them along with tons of reviews, lololo. /strangebuyer

Picked up a copy of SMT4 today before it could sell out (mofos are inflating the price here because of demand, fff-) and have been getting a ton of lulz out of some of my recruiting negotiations with demons. Some of them are really, really, really dumb. This game is goin' places with the "there is no safe answer" mechanic.

Demon: "STATE THY NAME"
Me: (states demon's name like a smartass)
Demon: "How do you disguise yourself?! You are very clever, sir. I will join you if you give me a considerable amount of your HP."
Me: *really low on HP* (selects "Cheat")
Demon: emotion_dowant "I'm in!"

I don't know what I was thinking when I decided not to buy some extra HP/MP items before marching into a dungeon. Not that I'm limping through anything, it's just something I mildly regret. The game hasn't been as frustrating as I expected it to be, thankfully.

Aye. bravely default looks like a positive direction. Got some inside intel saying Persona 5's name was registered by Atlus. I would throw up the link on Neogaf but i am currently mobile. Peeps were going nuts!

I really hope the blog influences. I can't wait to start writing. Won't be able to until Friday. People overlook some really enjoyable games.

I am happy you're into SMT. Let me know the what you think about it when you proceed further. I'd like to know more about the series because it's one I admittedly set aside for other titles. I am not sure when it's releasing but they have a cross over with fire emblem happening fairly soon.

I've heard about P5. : D Hoping it's not just for the PS4 and Vita.

I'm four or five hours into SMT4 and maybe close to being done with the first dungeon. I still can't figure out how one reviewer of the game sucked so much though. Said the game stripped them of their gamer pride but it's just not that hard in the beginning. It's easier than FEA's Hard mode if you get a fairy with a healing skill recruited early and run a few of the free DLC quests.

Some people don't have the patience or should not be reviewing games. Maybe you're better at it than you think! Big ups to you. : )

It gives an idea of what to expect at the beginning of the game though, so there's that. I'm not a decent player so much as I can't stop myself from trying to kill & recruit everything and it's made me way over-leveled.

Not that that's stopping the game from letting level 2s almost knock out my level 8s though. Gotta nuke those little monsters before they can attack my party. emotion_donotwant *loads magic gun*

Made it into Tokyo- this game will be the death of me but I can't stop throwing myself at it. The super legit boss battles are intense compared to the side quest bosses. I'm always limping away victorious with over half my party dead. rofl

I'm also frequently faced with the dilemma of dungeons being test of MP frugality and stealth. Gotta have enough juice to fight what's at the end of the road! D:
